Luang Pho Yai of Wat Dang Chachoengsao Brings Luck Again as Lottery Numbers Hit, Over 20 Villagers Win 10 Tickets Each

Over 20 villagers in Chachoengsao Province won lottery prizes after receiving blessings from Luang Pho Yai at Wat Huay Soop, with winners hitting the three-digit number 298 and two-digit number 08.

2d ago Khaosod

At 6 p.m. on May 16, 2025, a reporter visited Wat Huay Soop in Namatum Subdistrict, Panasnikorn District, Chachoengsao Province, where over 20 lucky winners gathered with flowers, incense, candles, and firecrackers to pay respects to Luang Pho Yai. The winners had struck it lucky with the two-digit ending number 08 (10 tickets each) and the three-digit front number 298 (10 tickets per set), each receiving tens of thousands of baht in winnings. They brought over 3,000 firecrackers as offerings of gratitude.

Ms. Toom, 58, one of the fortunate winners, revealed that she came to make merit at the temple and request blessings from Luang Pho Yai. She saw the numbers 298 and 45 written on the abbot's board. Initially planning to buy the two-digit ending number 298, she discovered only the three-digit front number was available, so she purchased 10 tickets of that instead. When the lottery drawing occurred, she was delighted to have won over 40,000 baht through Luang Pho Yai's blessing.

Many other villagers also won the two-digit ending number 08 with 10 tickets each. Luang Pho Yai is known for regularly providing blessings to villagers regarding employment opportunities and land sales, with many having achieved their wishes. Following the ceremonial firecracker lighting, the numbers 32, 164, and 114, 34 were drawn as lucky numbers that villagers plan to play in the June 1, 2025 lottery drawing.

Police have determined that both the train driver and bus driver were negligent in a collision that left 8 people dead and 32 injured. At 8:30 p.m. on May 16, 2025, Deputy National Police Chief Siam Bunyasorn ordered Mukkaasan Police Station to investigate the train-bus collision with the high death toll on the Airport Link Makkasan railway crossing at Asok-Din Daeng Road, Bangkapi Sub-district, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok.

Investigators found the accident involved freight train No. 4531, originating from Laem Chabang and heading to Bang Sue, driven by Sayamporn Suankul, 46, and public bus No. 206 driven by Laphis Thongbun, 56. CCTV footage revealed that Laphis was driving the bus along Asok-Din Daeng Road from Rama IX intersection toward Petchburi-Asokan intersection in lane one of four lanes when he encountered the railway crossing. Celtic Thrash Hearts at Home in Final Match to Clinch Scottish League Title

Celtic clinched their 56th Scottish Premier League title with a dramatic 3-1 comeback victory over Hearts in the final match of the season, breaking Rangers' previous record of 55 championships.

2d ago Khaosod

Celtic accelerated past Hearts of Midlothian in the final match of the season to capture their 56th Scottish Premier League title, surpassing Rangers' previous record of 55 championships. Heading into the match, Hearts of Midlothian led with 80 points, just one point ahead of Celtic. A draw would have made Hearts the first team in 41 years to win the league title outside of Rangers and Celtic, who have long shared supremacy.

In the final match, Hearts took an early lead through Lawrence Shankland's goal in the 43rd minute, bringing the prospect of making history closer by the minute. However, Celtic fought back decisively, scoring three consecutive goals from Arne Engels' penalty in the 45+4th minute, Daizen Maeda in the 87th minute, and Callum Osmond in the 90+8th minute.

By match's end, Celtic increased their points to 82 and claimed their 14th league title in the last 15 seasons, with only Rangers winning the championship in between during 2021. Hearts remained at 80 points, falling just short of capturing the crown. The last team outside these two powerhouses to win the championship dates back to the 1984-85 season when Aberdeen claimed the title during Sir Alex Ferguson's era.

A freight train collided with a bus near Suvarnabhumi Airport Railway Station, resulting in 8 deaths and approximately 25 injuries, with damage to 5 cars and 3 motorcycles. Dashboard and CCTV footage from moments before the crash shows multiple vehicles and a bus parked across the railroad tracks, which prevented the crossing gates from functioning and coincided with the train's arrival. Previously shared social media videos from the same location showed trains stopped while numerous vehicles were parked illegally on the tracks at a red light. The State Railway of Thailand's PR team emphasized that drivers must stop at least 5 meters before crossing railroad tracks and are strictly prohibited from parking on the tracks under the Land Traffic Act, Section 63. When railroad crossings lack warning signals or barriers, drivers must reduce speed and stop at least 5 meters away, only proceeding once it is safe to do so.

Investigators have been instructed to meticulously gather evidence including closed-circuit camera footage and witness statements to determine the true cause and ensure fairness to all parties involved.

Case Closed! BBQ Equipment Theft Report Ends with Red Fox Caught with Hot Dog in Its Mouth

A red fox caught stealing a hot dog from a barbecue in Alberta, Canada turned out to be the culprit behind a reported equipment theft, with police humorously "releasing" their furry suspect with a full stomach.

3d ago Khaosod

Police in Alberta, Canada encountered an unexpected twist after receiving a report of "barbecue equipment theft" that seemed serious but turned out to be comedy gold from start to finish. When officers arrived at the scene in Crowsnest Pass, they found not a criminal suspect, but a red fox proudly carrying a hot dog in its mouth, appearing to have just completed a successful heist. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police humorously posted on social media that they were searching for a suspect with "red hair, short stature, and wearing a thick coat"—a description that sounded serious but was oddly suspicious from the start. After a quick area search, officers discovered the "suspect" attempting to hide evidence nearby, only to realize the evidence in question was the hot dog firmly lodged in the fox's mouth. Police shared photos of the incident on social media, which immediately went viral because the image of the red fox with its prize perfectly "closed the case" without any further investigation needed. Ultimately, officers concluded their report with a tongue-in-cheek summary: "The suspect was released without conditions and with a full stomach," sending internet users into fits of laughter and sharing the story widely, cementing yet another bizarre case in online history.
