A tragic accident has claimed the life of a young driver who was on his way to perform merit-making rites for his grandmother's cremated remains. The white Isuzu pickup truck with Bangkok license plates skidded in the rain, lost control, and collided with a concrete barrier and metal guardrail on the M6 motorway service road at kilometer 166+500, resulting in the driver's death. The accident occurred at 8:40 PM on May 1, 2025, at the U-turn point beneath a bridge in Sam Saai Subdistrict, Suung Neun District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
The driver, a resident of Nong Nom Wua Subdistrict in Lad Yao District, Nakhon Sawan Province, was reportedly unfamiliar with the route. Relatives stated he was traveling to perform the merit-making ceremony in the Sam Saai area when the accident occurred. Contributing factors included heavy rainfall that made the road slippery and poor visibility in the area. Authorities transported the body to Suung Neun Hospital for investigation before releasing it to the family for religious rites.
