Heavy Rain, Slippery Road: 43-Year-Old Man Loses Control of Pickup Truck, Crashes Into Tree and Dies

On May 13 at 9:00 PM, a fatal vehicle accident occurred on the Chiang Mai-Lampang Road near the Dok Lumpoon silk shop in Muang District, Lamphun Province. Police investigators from Muang Lamphun Station, along with rescue teams from Chiang Mai and Amarin Rescue Lamphun, responded to find a black Isuzu D-Max pickup truck heavily damaged after striking a roadside tree. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Rescue personnel had to use cutting equipment to extract the victim's body from the wreckage amid a somber atmosphere. The victim's relatives arrived at the scene and broke down in tears and shock upon learning the victim was Thanaphoom, 43 years old, from Sri Bua Ban Subdistrict, Muang District, Lamphun Province. Preliminary investigation suggests heavy rainfall caused the vehicle to lose traction before colliding violently with the tree. Further investigation into the exact cause is ongoing.
