Real Madrid of Spain's La Liga has confirmed that the club has initiated a disciplinary investigation into an incident involving two players—Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni—who allegedly engaged in a serious altercation. According to reports, tensions between Valverde and Tchouaméni first surfaced during training on May 6, and festered until they erupted during the May 7 training session, with the clash severe enough to leave Valverde with a head wound requiring hospital treatment. In an official statement, Madrid said: "Following the incident that occurred during the team's recent training session, the club has decided to initiate a disciplinary investigation into both players, and the findings will be announced at the appropriate time." Valverde responded with a statement on Instagram, acknowledging that he had a confrontation with his teammate during practice, but insisting it did not involve physical violence. He attributed his injury to an accident, stating: "I had a clash with a teammate during training, but I accidentally hit a table while we were arguing, which caused my forehead to get cut and required hospital stitches. My teammate did not assault me, and I did not assault him either."
