Al Nassr Appoints Postecoglou As New Head Coach
Saudi Pro League champions Al Nassr have appointed Ange Postecoglou as head coach on a two-year deal, bringing in the Australian manager fresh from his Premier League tenure with Tottenham and Nottingham Forest.
Al Nassr, the Saudi Pro League champions, have announced the appointment of Australian-Greek manager Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach on a two-year contract. Postecoglou is widely recognized for his previous roles managing Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League. During his time at Spurs, he led the team to win the UEFA Europa League, while his stint at Forest lasted only eight matches.
Postecoglou has also achieved notable success leading the Australian national team to victory at the 2015 AFC Asian Cup and guiding Celtic in the Scottish League, where he won five championships in two seasons. Prior to this appointment, he was reportedly a candidate to become the new coach of the Scottish national team.
Al Nassr won the league title last season under manager Jorge Jesus, marking the club's first championship in seven years. Jesus subsequently departed when his contract expired. The club currently boasts several high-profile players in its squad, including Cristiano Ronaldo, João Félix, Sadio Mané, Marcelo Brozović, Kingsley Coman, and Mohamed Simakan.
