Police received a report on April 25, 2569 of a seven-year-old boy found drowned in a forest pond in Ban Jan Subdistrict, Ban Dung District, Udon Thani Province. The child had gone missing on the evening of April 23, approximately 2 kilometers from his home. When discovered, the boy was found lying on his back with one pair of shoes placed nearby. His mother lost consciousness upon hearing the news and was taken to the hospital by relatives. Police transported the body for detailed autopsy to determine the true cause of death.
According to rescue workers from Srisutho Association, the boy disappeared on the evening of April 23. On April 24, rescue teams brought divers to search nearby water sources throughout the night without success. Early on April 25, local residents who were searching reported finding the body in the forest pond. Rescue officials noted that drowning victims typically lie face down and have water in their lungs, but this boy had no water in his stomach or lungs—only air escaping from the rectum. Authorities are awaiting the autopsy results to determine the actual cause of death.
