Brentford is positioning itself well for a UEFA Europa League qualifying berth after crushing West Ham United at home in the London Derby, climbing to 6th place in the Premier League.
The English Premier League match on May 2 saw Brentford host West Ham United at Gtech Community Stadium in a London Derby battle.
In the 15th minute of the first half, Brentford launched an attack with a ball into the penalty area. Crysencio Summerville deflected it off the post, and although Michael Kayode attempted to follow up, Konstantinos Mavropanos inadvertently turned it into his own net, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead.
In the 17th minute, West Ham came close to equalizing when El Hadji Malik Diouf sent in a cross for Valentín Castañeda, whose shot struck the post.
In the 21st minute, from El Hadji Malik Diouf's free kick from the left wing to the far post, Konstantinos Mavropanos came in to head the ball, but a VAR check revealed he was in an offside position. West Ham missed another opportunity to equalize.
