True Corporation, Google, and Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education have launched 'AI for All Thais,' an ambitious initiative to train 12 million workers in artificial intelligence skills through partnerships with 20 leading universities. The two-phase program, operating through True Digital Park, aims to create AI literacy and workforce competency by integrating global AI tools like Gemini into Thailand's education system and ensuring equitable access across the nation.
True Corporation, Google, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation are reforming the nation's skill structure by launching 'AI for All Thais' with 20 leading universities, creating AI education curricula targeting 12 million future workers.
On May 5, 2025, Sigve Brekke, President and CEO of True Corporation, outlined the current global economic landscape, emphasizing that the primary obstacle preventing organizations worldwide from fully leveraging AI technology is not technological limitations, but rather the human skills gap. This gap determines whether AI's potential can be practically applied.
Therefore, True announced its pivot toward becoming an "AI-First Organization," beginning with internal reform where 100% of employees must understand AI and over 50% must be able to apply it practically. The company will then expand this effort nationally under the "AI for All" mission, targeting to empower 12 million Thais by 2030 to prepare them for the new labor market where AI will become a fundamental standard.
Nadcharee Bunyuratdhitthongchai, Director of Marketing for Google Southeast Asia and South Asia, stated that the collaboration on "AI for All Thais" integrates global tools like Gemini into Thailand's education system through two phases:
Phase 1: AI First Citizen – focuses on building foundations through Gemini Academy, promoting understanding of AI Safety, Digital Literacy, and Prompt Engineering skills. True provides free 10GB data access for students and organizes competitions for AI ideas benefiting society and daily life, with winners visiting Google in Singapore.
Phase 2: AI for Future Workforce – collaboratively developing an intensive 45-hour curriculum that can earn university credits, emphasizing advanced AI skills for future employment. This includes a Train-the-Trainer program to upgrade academic personnel nationwide.
The project will be driven through the Charoen Pokphand ecosystem via the CP Center of Excellence (CP-CoE) at True Digital Park, which serves as the primary digital and AI infrastructure hub, connecting business, technology, and educational institutions to accelerate the creation of high-skilled talent.
This initiative represents Thailand's readiness to enter the digital economy arena, with AI as the primary engine driving strategic industries including healthcare, finance, and manufacturing, ensuring prosperity reaches the general public sustainably.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yuthasak Wongsakul emphasized the urgent need to address Technology Disruption impacts on job security. He noted that if Thailand achieves AI adoption in one-third of the country within the next four years, it will create a significant turning point for national GDP.
The core of this initiative ensures opportunities are not limited to urban populations but create equal access to knowledge for all.
