Police have successfully apprehended the suspect in a theft case involving multiple iPhones and laptops worth over 800,000 baht at the CMU Store outlet located at Chiang Mai University in Tambon Suthep, Muang District, Chiang Mai Province, on the early morning of May 16.
According to Police Captain Sinotthai Lilittham, superintendent of Phuping Rajanivet Police Station, the arrested suspect is Kiattisak, 28, a taxi driver. He was captured while meeting his girlfriend near a dormitory in Tambon Wat Ket, Muang District. Police recovered 13 stolen iPhones and one laptop from his possession.
Kiattisak confessed to using a brick to smash the store window before stealing the items inside. He then fled to Chiang Rai before returning to Chiang Mai to meet his girlfriend, where he was arrested. He cited poor economic circumstances and financial necessity as reasons for the crime.
The suspect has been taken to Phuping Rajanivet Police Station and charged accordingly, with legal proceedings to follow.
