A tragic accident occurred on the Tha Chak-Mae Tha Road in Mae Tha District, Lamphun Province on May 11, 2569, when an 18-wheel truck collided violently with a sidecar motorcycle. The incident took place near Ban Tah Kaolumg village, approximately 6 kilometers before Mae Tha Hospital, resulting in one fatality at the scene.
At the crash site, officers discovered the motorcycle severely damaged with a grass cutter nearby on the roadside. In the middle of the road, they found the body of a man approximately 50 years old wearing a blue shirt and military-patterned pants, lying face down and deceased.
Investigators documented multiple severe injuries on the victim, including a long laceration across his face from head to chin, a severed left arm, and a torn right kneecap. The 18-wheel truck was found parked further down the road at the accident scene.
Initial investigation revealed the truck was traveling normally on its regular route when the motorcycle attempted to cross lanes in front of it, resulting in the violent collision that proved fatal.
