A good Samaritan witnessed a 17-year-old girl clinging to a pickup truck before being violently shaken off and injured, with the driver fleeing the scene. Parents filed a reckless endangerment complaint. Security footage captured a black Ford four-door pickup at approximately 7:09 PM parking at the location where the victim confirmed they had stopped to talk. The incident occurred at 8:45 PM on April 26, 2025. Deputy Lieutenant Colonel Chanjai Songwansaksri of Nong Prue Station responded to reports of a girl injured after falling from a pickup truck in front of Kao Pho Thong Temple on the Mab Prachan Reservoir road in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, 17-year-old Miss Bow (alias), with abrasions on both knees. She reported being picked up by a man approximately 30 years old whom she had recently met on April 23. He claimed he would help her find a job after she completed her vocational training. After leaving a bungalow in Nong Prue soi, they went for hot pot before he drove her to the reservoir area. As she attempted to exit the vehicle, he suddenly accelerated and tried to flee, forcing her to jump onto the side of the truck. The man then drove aggressively, swerving violently for about 500 meters along the reservoir road until she fell in front of Kao Pho Thong Temple. He fled in the black Ford Ranger four-door pickup without a rear license plate. A 23-year-old witness named Mix recorded video footage showing the victim attempting to hold onto the truck and pounding on the window with her right hand as the vehicle swerved before she fell. Mix stated he initially thought they were playing but became concerned when the truck accelerated rapidly and swerved dangerously, prompting him to record the incident. The suspect drove approximately 500 meters along the reservoir road before the victim lost her grip near the temple and fell, sustaining injuries. The suspect then fled quickly in the direction of Siam Country Club Golf Course. Police coordinated with the victim's parents to transport her to Pattaya Patumwan Hospital for treatment.

Pickup Truck Loses Control on Dark Road, Plunges 50 Meters Down Cliff and Crashes Into Trees

A pickup truck lost control on a dark mountain road in Phayao Province and plunged 50 meters down a ravine, sustaining severe damage after colliding with trees. Two occupants were rescued with minor injuries and declined hospital treatment. Authorities attribute the accident to darkness combined with steep, winding terrain and plan further investigation to prevent similar incidents.

28 Apr Khaosod

Emergency responders in Sri Thoi Subdistrict, Mae Jai District, Phayao Province received an accident report at 8:47 p.m. on April 27, 2569 (2026) of a pickup truck that had veered off a mountain road near Village 13. Upon arriving at the scene, rescue teams discovered a Toyota pickup truck with Chiang Rai license plates that had careened down a roadside ravine approximately 50 meters deep. The vehicle was heavily damaged at both the front and rear, coming to rest amid dense vegetation and large trees. Cargo including bags of fertilizer and various personal belongings were scattered throughout the crash site. The darkness and steep, sloped terrain made rescue operations extremely challenging.

Rescue teams located two injured persons—the driver and a passenger—both sustaining only minor abrasions and bruising. Both individuals remained in stable condition and declined transportation to a hospital. First aid personnel provided assistance on-site.

Authorities suspect the accident resulted from the combination of darkness, a steep and winding road, causing the vehicle to lose control. Investigators plan to conduct a detailed examination of the incident to implement preventative measures and avoid similar accidents in the area.

True Corporation partners with OYMotion to pioneer Neuro AI innovation

True Corporation and OYMotion have launched a partnership to develop Neuro AI technology that uses brain-computer interfaces to help patients control prosthetics and rehabilitation devices through neural signals. The innovation aims to improve recovery for stroke and paralysis patients while addressing Thailand's shortage of specialized physical therapists. The technology is currently being piloted at leading Thai hospitals with plans to scale across the public health system if successful.

28 Apr Khaosod

True Corporation has partnered with OYMotion to develop Neuro AI technology aimed at improving physical therapy and rehabilitation, the company announced Monday.

The collaboration, spearheaded by True's Research and Innovation Center, merges Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology with artificial intelligence and a data platform that allows patients to control smart devices or prosthetics using neural signals transmitted over True's network.

The system converts brain activity into commands, stimulating neural pathways to trigger muscle movement. The approach is designed to support cognitive retraining and speed up recovery compared to traditional therapy, especially for stroke patients and those with paralysis or mobility limitations.

True stated the technology is currently being piloted with patients at major Thai hospitals to assess clinical effectiveness. Subject to positive results, it could be rolled out across the public health system.

The initiative also seeks to address the shortage of specialized physical therapists and cut long-term rehabilitation expenses, both significant obstacles to continuous patient care.

According to True, the platform combines OYMotion's neural sensing and signal decoding expertise with its own digital ecosystem, allowing real-time transmission of brainwave and muscle data. This enables robotic devices or prosthetics to perform movements that closely replicate natural human motion.

Ekaraj Panjavinin, head of Research and Innovation at True Corporation, noted the partnership aligns with the company's mission to create technologies that enhance quality of life.

"Merging Thai medical knowledge with world-class NeuroTech will be the foundation for making Thailand's rehabilitation healthcare a leading regional center," he said.

Ni Hualiang, founder and CEO of OYMotion, said the company specializes in affordable rehabilitation solutions using neural sensing and AI-powered signal recognition.

"Our goal is to transform traditional physical therapy into a smarter, more seamless process and establish a new benchmark for rehabilitation," he said.

True indicated the technology could help patients recover faster and gain greater independence, while allowing physicians to customize treatment using brain function data. Hospitals could also broaden rehabilitation service access while upholding care standards.

If adopted widely, the companies believe the initiative could help establish Thailand as a regional NeuroTech innovation hub.

Safe and Creative Media Development Fund Launches 'Media Mee Dee' Project

A new media literacy initiative called 'Media Mee Dee' launched on Thai television April 23 to help citizens identify misinformation and deepfakes amid rising digital fraud and cybercrime threats.

28 Apr Khaosod

The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund has officially launched the 'Media Mee Dee' project through the ZAAB TODAY program on 9 MCOT HD channel on April 23, 2025. The 'Media Mee Dee' initiative is designed as an accessible and comprehensive scoop-format program that delivers media literacy knowledge to the public in the digital era, building intellectual resilience so citizens can analyze, distinguish between, and consume media creatively and responsibly amid rapidly changing media environments.

Dr. Chamnaj Gamnee-udom, Vice Manager of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, stated that digital technology, particularly AI, is currently being used both constructively and maliciously. Deepfake technology, which can seamlessly forge voices and images, has intensified fraud and cybercrime problems. Meanwhile, most citizens lack the skills to analyze and critically evaluate media, making them easy targets. This situation has been a major driving force for developing the 'Media Mee Dee' project to build media immunity across society.

The 'Media Mee Dee' project offers comprehensive and contemporary media literacy skills, presenting accessible knowledge and strategies to counter harmful media through guidance from subject matter experts with direct field experience. This enables the public to develop skills in analyzing, distinguishing, and consciously consuming media, allowing them to counter new fraud schemes effectively and avoid becoming victims or spreading negative information.

The project aims to reduce damage from technology-related crimes affecting people's lives and property, creating intellectual immunity to help Thai citizens sustainably protect themselves and others. It also seeks to extend this knowledge to families and communities, building a truly safe and creative media ecosystem.

The 'Media Mee Dee' project consists of 30 scoop episodes providing knowledge on media consumption and enhancing media literacy, helping audiences distinguish between negative and positive media. It also incorporates Buddhist principles for mindful media consumption. The program airs on 9 MCOT HD through the ZAAB TODAY show (Monday-Friday, 14:05-14:56) every Monday and Wednesday, with live streaming available on Facebook (9 MCOT) and on-demand viewing via TikTok (ZAAB TODAY), Facebook (ZAAB TODAY), and YouTube (DTN Official).

28-Year-Old Woman Can't Hold Back, Gives Birth on Car—Doesn't Miss Chance to Check License Plate for Lottery Luck

A 28-year-old woman gave birth in a car on the way to hospital in Chachoengsao Province, with both mother and newborn daughter delivered safely by rescue workers. Lottery enthusiasts have since taken note of the vehicle's license plate for

28 Apr Khaosod

At 5:30 a.m. on April 28, 2026, the Banbueng Moral Rescue Unit received an emergency call reporting a pregnant woman in active labor in a vehicle. The incident occurred before reaching the Nong Chak traffic light on Highway 344, near the Nong Chak checkpoint, on the way to Banbueng in Chachoengsao Province. Rescue volunteers coordinated with nearby teams and contacted emergency medical personnel at Banbueng Hospital for assistance.

Upon arrival, they found a white Toyota sedan with license plate Kor 9939 (Lamphun province) parked in a lot near the Nong Chak checkpoint. In the back seat, they discovered the young woman lying flat with a newborn baby partially delivered, still connected by the umbilical cord. Responders immediately performed first aid, cut the umbilical cord, cleaned the infant, and wrapped her in a clean, soft towel.

According to the nurse who assisted with the delivery, the newborn is a healthy baby girl with strong lungs and vigorous cries. Both mother and baby required continued care at the hospital.

Supol, the father (surname withheld), 30 years old, explained that his wife, Siriluk (surname withheld), 28, began experiencing labor pains on April 27. After visiting Banbueng Hospital without delivering, they returned to their accommodation. When contractions resumed, a neighboring guest drove the expectant mother back to the hospital. However, only halfway through the journey from their lodging in Taldamn subdistrict, Banbueng District, Chachoengsao, his wife could no longer hold back and delivered the baby in the vehicle.

Supol expressed his excitement and relief that both his wife and newborn daughter—their second child—came through safely, though he hadn't yet prepared a name. He remained too overwhelmed to do much else.

The driver, who asked to be identified only as Aek, recounted hearing complaints of labor pain from the expectant mother as they approached the Nong Chak intersection. Within moments, he heard the infant crying from the back seat. He quickly found a place to park, and rescue services arrived shortly after to provide assistance.

This dramatic birth has not gone unnoticed by lottery enthusiasts, who have been eagerly noting down the vehicle's license plate number to try their luck in the May 2 lottery draw.
