Thailand's young badminton team was eliminated from the Thomas Cup 2026 quarterfinals after losing to Denmark 1-4 in a closely contested match held in Denmark on May 1st.
In the men's team badminton competition (Thomas Cup) quarterfinals of the Thomas & Uber Cup 2026 held in Denmark on the night of May 1st, Thailand's young badminton team faced off against Denmark.
The action began with top men's singles player "View" Kulvutti Vittitasant, ranked world No. 2, losing to Anders Antonsen, ranked world No. 3, 1-2 sets (16-21, 21-11, 18-21).
In the first men's doubles match, "Bass" Dechapol Puavaranukroh paired with "Omo" Prakkpol Sithiratsanakul lost to Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 1-2 sets (21-15, 5-21, 17-21).
However, Thailand fought back through second men's singles player "Ikki" Panichpol Sithiratsanakul, who defeated Magnus Johannesen, ranked world No. 41, 2-0 sets (21-17, 21-12), bringing the score to 1-2.
In the fourth match, men's doubles pair Vorapol Thongsang and Cheelimpol Charoenkit lost to Mathias Christiansen and Daniel Lundgaard 0-2 sets (13-21, 17-21). Denmark took a 3-1 lead and sealed victory over Thailand, despite one remaining match in third men's singles between Thanawat Yimjit and Ditlev Jager Holm.
