Surat Thani police have arrested a suspect accused of stealing from a young athlete competing in the National Youth Games within 48 hours. On May 10, 2025, Police Major General Suwat Suksri, commander of Surat Thani Provincial Police, along with deputy commander Police Colonel Sirichai Suksart, Muang Surat Thani Station Commander Police Colonel Pornrong Garonarjai, and deputy station commander Police Lieutenant Yot Chaorai, apprehended 49-year-old Thammavet, nicknamed Yod, and recovered a mobile phone and backpack.

Namephuing graduated from the Medical Technology program at Chiang Mai University and served as president of the student association, showcasing leadership and dedication to public service. Ignored Friends' Warnings, Man Jumps into Deep Canal Complaining of Heat, Then Drowns. On May 10, 2569, rescue unit Hook 31 at Non Thai district in Nakhon Ratchasima province received a report of a missing person in the water at Lam Chiang Rai Canal, Ban Nong Krasang village, Dan Jak subdistrict, Non Thai district, Nakhon Ratchasima province. The canal where the incident occurred was approximately 4 meters deep. Rescue divers conducting the search found the body after 10 minutes. The deceased was identified as Mr. Theerayut, 39 years old, a native of Nakhon Phanom, who was submerged under the canal. His body was brought up and sent for autopsy at Non Thai Hospital. According to the police investigation at Non Thai station, Mr. Theerayut was from Nakhon Phanom working in Nakhon Ratchasima. During his weekend break, he came to visit a friend's house. Before the incident, he complained about the hot weather and went swimming alone. However, friends and villagers warned him not to enter because the water was deep. Mr. Theerayut did not listen and claimed he had swum in similar waters back in Nakhon Phanom. Shortly after entering the water, he disappeared and drowned. Neighbors who witnessed the incident reported it to rescue unit Hook 31, who recovered his body submerged 4 meters below the surface. Police believe that due to the extreme heat, Mr. Theerayut may have suffered heat shock and lost consciousness, leading to his drowning.
