Ice Panuwat Reveals Why He's Grown His Hair Long Again: Cat Hotel Business Feels Economic Impact
Thai actor Ice Panuwat has returned to his signature long-haired look, saying it makes him feel more confident and true to himself. He also discussed his cat hotel business in Pattaya, which has been impacted by the economic downturn but continues operating through the support of devoted cat owners; the family business is adapting by lowering prices and adding value-added services.
Actor Ice Panuwat recently opened up at a press event for the drama series Masked Beast, discussing his new long-haired look that has boosted his confidence and providing updates on his cat hotel in Pattaya. While the business has felt the impact of economic challenges, it continues to thrive thanks to the passion of cat lovers and his family's dedication.
When asked why he returned to his signature long hair look, Ice explained: "I've always loved this style. It's the look people associate with me as Ice Panuwat. When I first entered the industry, I had long hair, but after COVID my hair changed. Other agencies wanted me to cut it short, and I didn't have the chance to grow it back until about a year ago. Since then, I've felt more like myself and much more confident."
Regarding how the hairstyle boosts his work confidence, he noted: "I'm filming a drama with senior actress Thongpraseum called 'Love in Outer Space,' and I feel the character matches my current look perfectly. Watching the character's mood opposite Mint and Pop makes me feel more charming and confident. Now that I'm 30, I feel more confident in my experience as well."
When asked if his cat hotel has been affected by economic conditions, Ice acknowledged: "Of course it has. Every business has felt the impact. But through the love people have for their cats, they're willing to spend money to give their pets the best care and accommodation. We're adapting by reducing prices and adding services like cat litter and food to help customers save money."
Ice visits the hotel about once a week to help his parents, who run the main operations, and sometimes answers customer chats himself. The family-run business, called Cherry Farm, is located in Pattaya and features about 12 rooms of varying sizes that can accommodate 4-5 cats. Room rates are 300 baht for small rooms, 400 baht for medium rooms, and 500 baht for large rooms per 24-hour stay.
