AIS, Thailand's digital infrastructure leader, partnered with Wisesight, a social data analytics provider, to host Thailand Social AIS Gaming Awards 2026 for the sixth consecutive year. The awards celebrate gaming and esports professionals creating outstanding social media content, with enhanced judging criteria reflecting digital-era consumer behavior as gaming becomes a lifestyle for all generations.

Numerous awards were presented to gaming and esports professionals and organizations. Bacon Time, a prominent esports club, received three awards: Bonus earned Rising Game Content Creator and Esports Player, Kimsensei won The Most Popular Mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Game Player, and the club itself earned The Most Popular Esports Club.

BANGKOK — Police have located former Formula One driver Mika Salo after he was slashed on the leg by a motorcycle rider while crossing a pedestrian crossing in central Bangkok.

Salo, 59, a Finnish national, said he was crossing a zebra crossing in the Sukhumvit area when a moped rider passed and struck him. He initially felt only a slight impact and was unaware he had been injured until a bystander pointed out that his leg was bleeding. "I looked down and saw that my shoe was completely covered in blood," he told a Finnish newspaper.

At 12:20 on 26 May 2026, Pol. Maj. Gen. Phanlop Raemla, deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau overseeing investigation affairs, inspected the area alongside the commander of Lumpini Police Station. Officers located Salo at a hotel in the Sukhumvit area and brought him to Lumpini Police Station for further questioning.

Salo said he has been returning to hospital for wound cleaning and dressing changes and is taking antibiotics while recovering in Bangkok. He praised the quality of care he received, describing Thai doctors and hospitals as efficient and professional.

Medics believe the wound, which Salo described as "a really big open wound," was inflicted by a knife. Police are investigating the attack, which appears to have been random.

Adul, who was shot in the leg, was taken to Yarang Hospital and was later reported to be in safe condition. The 2 month old child was also injured by bullet fragments. A concrete mixer truck with failed brakes crashed into a stalled vehicle near BTS Bang Wa station early this morning, with a young couple on a motorcycle narrowly escaping tragedy. The Facebook page Phiphat Pmpf shared a 1 minute 42 second dashcam video documenting the incident on Petchkasem Road in front of the Bang Wa BTS station. The footage shows vehicles moving slowly in traffic when the concrete mixer suddenly plowed into the stalled car ahead, causing heavy damage. During the collision, the truck also struck the rear of the motorcycle, causing it to skid and hit a concrete barrier. Fortunately, both riders managed to quickly evade the mixer truck and avoided being struck again. According to JS100 Radio, one person was injured in the incident and has been taken to the hospital.
