Haaland Insists Manchester City Players Must Think About Championships Every Day After Closing Two-Point Gap
Manchester City closed the gap to Arsenal to two points with a 3-0 victory over Brentford, with striker Erling Haaland insisting players must think about winning the championship every day.
Erling Braut Haaland, striker for Manchester City, addressed the club's title prospects, stating that if you play for this club, you must think about becoming champions every day.
Manchester City secured a crucial three points with a dominant 3-0 home victory over Brentford in the English Premier League on December 9th. Haaland scored one goal in the match, marking his 26th of the season. The victory brought City's total to 74 points from 36 matches, keeping them two points behind league leaders Arsenal with 76 points from equal games played.
Following the match, Haaland spoke to Sky Sports, saying: "It feels good to win 3-0. We just missed chances at the end today. We created many opportunities but couldn't finish in the final moments of several openings."
"Brentford defended well. They're a good team. There are no easy games in the Premier League, so we're happy," he continued.
On the title race, Haaland emphasized: "If you play for Manchester City, you think about being champions every day."
Regarding the upcoming match against Crystal Palace, the Norwegian forward said: "I'm not thinking about which game yet. I'm just tired from this match. The way we approach the next game is by not thinking about it for two days, then trying to win the next one. We recover and the following game is the same."
