Dreams Shattered: Woman Loses 4.4 Million Baht After Booking House in Prestigious Project, Finds Only Empty Land
A woman and over 400 other buyers have lost millions of baht after a major real estate developer abandoned their housing projects with no construction progress. Despite winning a lawsuit, the woman faces mounting losses as the company's assets are fully mortgaged and unavailable for compensation, leaving victims with only court judgments and no financial recourse.
A Facebook user posted in a consumer advocacy group seeking justice for her family and over 400 other victims who have been abandoned by a well-known real estate development company. She and her foreign husband decided to reserve a house in this project in late 2566 for 15.95 million baht, hoping to build a family home of their own. They paid over 4.4 million baht in booking fees, contract fees, and down payments, confident in the project's advertising and reputation.
When she visited the construction site in early 2568 to check progress, she found it completely abandoned with no workers and no advancement in construction. When questioning staff, she received evasive answers about waiting for loan approvals or suggestions to stop installment payments to shift blame to buyers. She later discovered there were victims from Phase 1 and other projects under the same company group, including condominiums in Bangkok and Pattaya, totaling over 400 people damaged similarly with combined losses exceeding one billion baht.
Despite winning her court case and hiring lawyers to send formal notices, her victory proved hollow. During enforcement proceedings, she discovered the company owner's land was completely mortgaged and couldn't be seized and sold to compensate victims. The company never initiated negotiations or offered any remedies, treating victims as if they didn't exist.
Currently, she finds herself in complete darkness. Her rental housing contract is about to expire, her 4.4 million baht savings have vanished, and the house she hoped to bring her three-year-old into doesn't exist. She now faces an urgent search for new housing despite having paid nearly 5 million baht, while suffering both physical and mental health damage. She pleads with social media to amplify her voice and prevent others from becoming victims of this company.
