Chinese national Ming Chen Sun, accused of smuggling C-4 explosives and military weapons, was hospitalized in Pattaya after suffering convulsions during prison intake; he has refused food for three days and remains under heavy police guard.
At 7:30 p.m. on May 11, 2025, Pattaya Special Prison officials were transporting Ming Chen Sun, 31, a Chinese national accused of concealing C-4 explosives and large quantities of military weapons, to Pattaya Pittamkun Hospital for emergency care after he suffered convulsions during the prison intake screening process. More than 10 police officers from Bang Lamung Station were stationed at the hospital to provide security.
According to inquiries, the suspect experienced severe convulsions and physical weakness. It was revealed that since his arrest, he has refused to eat for three consecutive days and is now on his fourth day, consuming only water. Combined with stress, these factors triggered his medical condition.
Medical staff administered saline solution and relaxation medication, with plans to monitor his condition for at least 24 hours. Deputy Provincial Police Commander Vasurachai Chaithaipattana traveled to the hospital to instruct Bang Lamung Station officers to maintain close security and surveillance of the suspect throughout his hospitalization until he can be safely transferred back to prison.
If the suspect's condition does not improve, he will be transferred to the Provincial Hospital. The Chonburi Provincial Police Commando unit will be called in to take over security and care responsibilities for the suspect.
