Bedrock Analytics and RISE Open Doors to BTS Group, Showcasing AI Power for State Asset Management

Bedrock Analytics and RISE demonstrated AI-powered location intelligence technology to BTS Group executives, showcasing how spatial data can optimize public infrastructure management and asset tracking across Thailand's government sector.

7 May Khaosod

Bedrock Analytics, a subsidiary of AI & Robotics Ventures (ARV) and expert in data infrastructure development, location intelligence platforms, and spatial data services, has partnered with RISE, a regional innovation accelerator, to host an open house event. The event welcomed Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) executives, staff, and participants in the Talent to Innovator program, led by Deputy Governor Thanom Ratneseth, to demonstrate how Location Intelligence and AI technology can optimize public sector infrastructure and asset management across the country.

Veerawat Rathavara, co-founder of Bedrock Analytics, highlighted the critical role of spatial data in Thailand's development, stating: "As cities expand rapidly, spatial data becomes a key mechanism for national development. Bedrock Analytics has developed Location Intelligence and AI technology to serve as an 'intelligent assistant' for government agencies. We are confident that leveraging technology for asset management will reduce costs, increase accuracy, enhance transparency standards, and drive Thailand toward becoming a concrete digital government."

To demonstrate practical applications, Bedrock Analytics showcased three key innovations: AI for Surveying, which automates field data collection from satellite imagery, drones, mobile mapping systems, and IoT networks, significantly reducing time and labor while improving data completeness; Smart Asset Management, which transitions from traditional to real-time digital systems, automatically detecting and recording public asset conditions to prevent loss and enable predictive maintenance planning; and Land Change Detection, which combines GIS with AI to continuously monitor land-use changes, urban expansion trends, and detect illegal land use or public encroachment.

Argentina Reports Dutch Couple Among 3 Deaths from Hantavirus Outbreak on Cruise Ship

Three people have died from hantavirus aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship that departed southern Argentina, including a Dutch couple believed infected during a bird-watching tour near Ushuaia before boarding.

7 May Khaosod

Argentine authorities are investigating a hantavirus outbreak aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship operated by Netherlands-based Oceanwide Expeditions, which departed from southern Argentina. The virus typically spreads through contact with contaminated rodent droppings, and human-to-human transmission is rare, occurring only through close contact. A Dutch couple, who are among the 3 deaths, are believed to have been infected during a bird-watching tour in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego before boarding. Officials noted the couple visited a waste disposal site during the tour, potentially exposing them to disease-carrying rodents, though investigations continue as the region has never reported hantavirus cases. The UN health agency reported that three suspected hantavirus patients were evacuated from the cruise ship to hospitals while the vessel remained anchored off Cape Verde with nearly 150 passengers awaiting travel to Spain's Canary Islands. Health officials in protective gear evacuated patients from the ship, including the ship's doctor, whose condition has improved after initially being severe. Spain's health ministry stated the passenger arrival poses no public health risk. The WHO confirmed 3 deaths, with at least 8 infected individuals total and 3 laboratory-confirmed hantavirus cases. Authorities have begun tracking at-risk individuals in Europe and Africa to identify suspected cases who disembarked earlier. The three evacuated patients are a 41-year-old Dutch national, a 56-year-old British citizen, and a 65-year-old German national who will be sent immediately to specialized hospitals in Europe. The Netherlands confirmed it will accept one patient while Germany is preparing for a second. Oceanwide Expeditions stated two patients remain in critical condition while the third is asymptomatic but in close contact with confirmed cases.

Luis Enrique Praises PSG's Defensive Display in Bayern Munich Victory, Hails Arsenal as Final Opponent

In the second leg of the 2025-26 Champions League semi-final on May 6, Bayern drew 1-1 at home against defending champions PSG. The visiting team took the lead through Ousmane Dembélé in the 3rd minute, before the home side equalized through Harry Kane in the 90+4th minute.

Bus Tire Blowout Causes Collision with Fuel Tanker, Triggering Massive Fire in Indonesia—16 Dead

A bus tire blowout triggered a collision with a fuel tanker on Indonesia's Sumatra island on May 6, killing 16 people and sparking a massive fire that engulfed both vehicles.

7 May Khaosod

A road accident involving a passenger bus and a fuel tanker killed 16 people and injured four others on Indonesia's Sumatra island on May 6. Fourteen bus passengers and two fuel tanker workers died in the midday crash in North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra. All four injured were hospitalized, with three suffering severe burns from the fire.

Initial reports indicate that one of the bus's tires burst, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the fuel tanker, resulting in a massive fire that engulfed both vehicles carrying diesel fuel. Transport accidents remain common in Indonesia, particularly involving public transportation vehicles that lack proper maintenance.

This incident follows a fatal train collision in April in Bekasi, West Java, where a long-distance train crashed into a stationary passenger train near Bekasi Timur Station, killing 16 people and injuring approximately 90. Days later, another train struck a car in Central Java, killing four people, including two children.

Victim's Brother Speaks Out on Marital Dispute: Wife's Revenge Attack Leaves Him Dead After Being Trampled

A man was killed after being trampled in a marital dispute, leaving behind a young daughter and elderly mother, his brother said in a Facebook post blaming the wife's revenge attack for the irreversible tragedy.

7 May Khaosod

The victim's brother addressed the case on Facebook on May 7th, 2569, offering his perspective on the tragic incident. He stated: "If the woman truly had that much money, my brother wouldn't have come asking to borrow from me every month. But we shared everything when they were together—that's what couples do. If she was really that financially secure, he wouldn't need to ask me for loans. Yes, sometimes we helped each other out, but I have to ask: would you feel heartbroken if this were your family? Some comments condemn the woman without knowing the full story, but they're speaking ill of someone who can no longer defend themselves or explain what happened between them. Wasn't what she did extremely severe? He has a child to raise and a mother to care for. Instead of using wisdom and communication to resolve your problems, you took an action that cost him his life—something that can never be undone. A young daughter with dark eyes who had a father to care for her will never have that again. All because of your anger and satisfaction. You've left a child without a father."

Mot Dam Denies She's the Crude-Mouthed Host Involved in Child Abuse Scandal; Opens Photo of Who It Actually Is, Says She'd Resign If It Were Her

Radio personality Mot Dam publicly identified another host as the subject of a child abuse scandal, denying she is involved and stating the accused should resign immediately as the case is now legal matter.

7 May Khaosod

Mot Dam has firmly denied being the crude-mouthed radio host accused of child abuse, revealing the incident occurred 2-3 months ago. She opened a photo on air to show her co-hosts who the person actually is, noting that everyone would recognize them as they appear on screen constantly. She stated that if she were the one involved, she would have already been suspended, adding that if it were the other host, they should resign without needing anyone to order them to do so, as the matter is now a legal case.

The scandal centers on allegations that a crude-mouthed radio host has been bullying celebrities in the media, taking students on social outings, and threatening to use money to silence them—all while holding a senior position on the station's board. The victim's parents have refused to cooperate further. Mot Dam previously clarified on a television program that she is not involved, stating she doesn't have a taste for young people and has never run a talent or modeling agency for children. She emphasized this is being handled by her husband.

Mot Dam further elaborated on the situation during an appearance on another program, saying that whoever the guilty party is should resign immediately without being told, as this has now become a legal matter. She noted that this incident occurred 2-3 months ago and is not recent, with previous negotiations between parties having failed. During her broadcast, Mot Dam showed a photo identifying the actual person involved, assuring viewers that "everyone knows who this person is—they're on screen all the time."

Vincent Kompany Unhappy with Refereeing – Praises PSG's Strong Performance

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany criticized refereeing decisions in both legs of the Champions League semi-final loss to PSG, though he acknowledged the defending champions' strong defensive display and their 6-5 aggregate victory.

7 May Khaosod

Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich manager, expressed dissatisfaction with the referees' performance throughout both legs against Paris Saint-Germain from France, but praised the opposing team for playing exceptionally well. In the UEFA Champions League 2025-26 semi-final second leg on May 6, Bayern drew 1-1 at home against defending champion PSG. PSG's Ousmane Dembélé scored first in the third minute, and Bayern's Harry Kane equalized in the 90+4th minute. On aggregate, PSG won 6-5 to reach the final for the second consecutive year, where they will face England's Arsenal. The final will be played at Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary on May 30. However, the match was marked by controversial refereeing decisions, particularly a handball by Nuno Mendes that many felt deserved a second yellow card, and a handball by Chiquinho Neves that appeared to be a clear penalty but went uncalled. Kompany stated: "While this is not an excuse for everything, it is important and ultimately the match was decided by just one goal. It seems there were several decisions that worked against us too much in both legs, and some moments were clearly ridiculous." The Belgian manager added: "I am not someone who dwells on disappointment. We will move forward. PSG defended their deep defensive line well throughout. They were alert and moved very dynamically. They could always cut off crucial moments in time."
