Pai Pai Shares Heartfelt Birthday Wishes from Nook Thanadol, Plus Six-Figure Amulet as Gift

Pai Pai Oreo celebrated his 30th birthday with heartfelt wishes from Nook Thanadol, who gifted him a six-figure sacred amulet for protection. The entertainer also announced plans to purchase a new home in Bangkok this year with an expanded

6d ago Khaosod

Pai Pai Oreo has officially stepped into his 30s, recently attending the Bangkok Pride Festival 2026 press conference at The Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok. He opened up about his warm birthday celebration held on May 9th, revealing heartfelt wishes from Nook Thanadol along with a special gift—a sacred amulet valued at around six figures. He also announced his major plan for the year: purchasing a new home in Bangkok with a budget that has increased from seven to eight figures. Joking about his wishlist for the new house, he quipped he'd love "a sports car that can actually drive on the expressway."

When asked about turning 30, Pai Pai replied: "30 is still cool, though my back hurts a bit. I celebrated my birthday on May 9th. At 30, I have my FC friends, Nook Thanadol, and even a band came. At 30, I feel pretty much the same as at 29—just maybe a bit more tired. At 31, I'll probably be even more exhausted."

Asked if his perspective on life has changed, he reflected: "Maybe I'm seeing things more broadly. Before, I traveled a lot and spent lavishly. Now I'm dialing it back a bit. I'm caring more for myself, my family, and my fans around me."

When asked about Nook Thanadol's wishes, Pai Pai shared: "It was very long. My birthday gift from him was an amulet. He said that at 30, I should have a protective amulet. I just found out the amulet costs around six figures—he said it was a million baht? He totally got me! Nook Thanadol wouldn't bring a million baht, it's more like six... I don't know if he's lying or what. He told me to go check it myself, but I couldn't figure it out."

He continued: "He said that no matter what happens, he'll always be by my side. He told me to be a 30-year-old who takes good care of his health, looks after himself, and loves himself more."

When asked if he's taking care of himself, Pai Pai joked: "Yes, actually today when I left the house, I drank 8 glasses of water a day and slept for 16 hours."

Regarding his new home purchase, Pai Pai explained: "This year I'm determined to buy a house. I've already looked at options. I'm buying in Bangkok. Initially, I set a budget of around seven figures, but ended up with eight figures. I'm so confused. It's probably around August. Anyway, I'm buying a house."

When asked if he's reserved space for Nook Thanadol in the new house, he clarified: "It's not just for Nook. All my friends can use it. They can sleep in the living room."

Asked what gift he wants from Nook for the housewarming—recalling that last time he gave plants—Pai Pai replied: "I already requested no plants. Maybe a picture frame, but I already have an amulet. Baskets aren't my thing. Flowers, I'll keep those. (What do you actually want?) A sports car. Not a remote-controlled one—one that actually drives. One that can go on the expressway."

Thai PM collects royal rice seeds, vows drought support

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul participated in collecting royal rice seeds at the annual Royal Ploughing Ceremony and confirmed he would plant them in his own rice fields. The government has announced drought management measures including coordinated water resource planning and storage maximization to support farmers facing expected dry conditions this year.

6d ago Khaosod

BANGKOK — 13 May 2026, Thai Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul joined members of the public in collecting royal rice seeds after the Royal Ploughing Ceremony, saying the seeds would be planted in his own rice field while assuring farmers the government had measures in place to address expected drought conditions this year.

After the annual Royal Ploughing Ceremony, Anutin walked to a demonstration rice field where royal rice seeds had been scattered and joined members of the public in gathering the seeds into prepared bags.

The prime minister said it was his first time collecting the royal rice seeds, adding that he had never previously had the opportunity to take part in the activity despite attending the ceremony in earlier years.

When asked by reporters what he planned to do with the seeds, Anutin initially declined to answer and continued collecting rice grains before later confirming that he owned rice fields and intended to plant the seeds there.

"I do," he replied when asked whether he had his own rice fields, adding that he would reveal later where the seeds would be planted once they begin to grow.

Anutin later posed for photographs with award-winning farmers and outstanding agriculturalists recognised during the ceremony.

Asked about government preparations for possible drought conditions this year, the prime minister said authorities had already coordinated water management plans through the Office of the National Water Resources, the Royal Irrigation Department and other agencies to secure water supplies for farmers, including groundwater sources.

He added that the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning would also work together to address drought-related problems, following weather forecasts indicating dry conditions later this year.

Anutin said the government aimed to maximise water storage and secure additional water sources to minimise the impact on farmers.

During the event, some members of the public approached the prime minister to greet him and jokingly asked in the Isaan dialect whether he was a "real Isaan person or a fake one", to which Anutin laughed and replied: "A fake Isaan."

Some attendees also asked whether they would receive a promised 1,000-baht cash handout at the end of the month, although the prime minister did not respond to the question.

Land Department Director Denies Foreign Land Seizure on Koh Phangan; Inspection Reveals Foreigners Hold Only 6% of Island Property

The Land Department Director has dismissed social media claims of a foreign land grab on Koh Phangan in Surat Thani province, confirming that foreign nationals hold only 6% of private land on the island. An investigation identified 1,832 foreign companies operating on the island, with 47 suspected of illegal land holdings; police have arrested 12 companies so far. The director emphasized that the situation does not constitute the widespread seizure reported on social media.

Surat Thani - Land Department Director Pornpetch Penpat and his team inspected the Koh Samui Land Office in Koh Phangan District on May 13, 2025, to address recent social media reports about land ownership issues on the island. Following a Fourth Army Region investigation that suggested foreign nationals might be using Thai nominees to hold property, the department's field investigation found concrete evidence of 1,832 foreign companies holding land on Koh Phangan, with 47 companies identified as potentially violating Thai law. Police arrested 12 of these companies this morning, with the remaining 35 under investigation. Director Penpat clarified that there is no widespread foreign land seizure on Koh Phangan as reported on social media, confirming that foreign nationals hold only 6% of the island's 38% total private land.

Nearly 300 Officers Launch 'Phuket Foreign Nominee Crackdown' with Searches at 29 Locations, Investigating Network Linked to 243 Companies

Nearly 300 officers raided 29 locations across Surat Thani Province in a crackdown on a network of 243 companies allegedly using Thai nominees to hide foreign business ownership and control land worth 150 million baht.

6d ago Khaosod

On May 13, 2025, the Royal Thai Police Office, led by Deputy Police Chief Samran Nualma and accompanied by Nopsil Poolsawat, mobilized 266 officers from various agencies including Immigration Police, Central Investigation Police, Provincial Police Region 8, Surat Thani Provincial Police, Koh Phangan Police Station, and security agencies to launch the 'Koh Phangan Foreign Nominee Crackdown' operation in Surat Thani Province.

Officers conducted searches at 29 targeted locations, consisting of 5 upstream companies and 24 nominee companies, to seize evidence including corporate documents, share transfer agreements, financial trails, digital data, and evidence of business control. The investigation revealed a pattern of using Thai nationals as nominee shareholders to evade foreign business regulations.

Investigators reported that Koh Phangan has 3,754 registered business entities, of which 2,381 involve foreign shareholders. Of these, 243 companies were identified as investigation targets, with 27 nominee companies and land holdings discovered, linked to 37 plots of land valued at approximately 150 million baht.

Authorities identified the operation as a network scheme initiated by foreigners or true beneficiaries who established multiple companies before appointing Thai nominees as shareholders, then linked these to land ownership, business operations, and financial channels to conceal the real operators.

Key patterns identified include the use of the same Thai shareholder groups, simultaneous registration of multiple companies, use of identical addresses, and sequential transfers of shares or assets.

Authorities arrested four suspects: one foreigner and three Thai nationals on charges related to foreign business operations using Thai nominee shareholders. Investigators indicated they are preparing to expand the investigation to other related individuals and networks.

Constitutional Court Petition Submitted! Opposition Files Interpretation Request on 400 Billion Baht Borrowing Decree as Parliament Delays Agenda

The opposition has petitioned the Constitutional Court to review a 400 billion baht emergency borrowing decree, with parliament suspending debate on the measure pending the court's constitutional interpretation ruling.

6d ago Khaosod

Parliament Speaker Sophon Saram has forwarded the opposition's petition to the Constitutional Court requesting interpretation of a 400 billion baht emergency borrowing decree, with parliament postponing the agenda pending the court's ruling.

On January 13, 2025, following the opposition coalition's submission led by Nathpong Ruangpanyawut, list MP and Thai People's Party leader, the petition was filed through Speaker Saram on May 11.

The petition asks the Constitutional Court to determine whether the 2025 royal decree granting the Finance Ministry authority to borrow 400 billion baht—intended to address energy crisis impacts and advance the country's energy transition—violates Article 172 of the Constitution.

Speaker Saram formally submitted the petition to the Constitutional Court on May 12, with the court's office officially registering the document.

Although the government submitted the borrowing decree for parliament's agenda as of May 11, Speaker Saram has not yet placed it on the official agenda. Following proper parliamentary procedure, he is awaiting the Constitutional Court's complete ruling before proceeding, as parliament convention dictates that when members petition the court for constitutional interpretation, the legislature should suspend consideration of the matter until the court delivers its judgment.

PM deflects constitutional amendment restart to parliament, declines to confirm old draft expedited timeline

PM Anutin deflected responsibility for restarting constitutional amendment proceedings to parliament, declining to confirm whether the expired draft would be expedited or a new process initiated.

6d ago Khaosod

At 11:00 AM on May 13, 2026, at Don Mueang Royal Thai Air Force Base 2, Squadron 6 in Bangkok, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister gave an interview regarding clarity on the constitutional amendment draft confirmation due to expire on May 14. He stated that Pheu Thai Party's stance must align with public wishes. When asked if the referendum results from over 20 million votes would prompt the draft's reratification, Anutin responded that all processes begin at parliament and should not be tied to the government, as that belonged to the previous administration. The constitutional amendment referendum was held on the same day as general elections, so the amendment process must start from parliament and cannot be linked to the previous draft. When asked whether parliament must initiate the process according to a Constitutional Court ruling, the PM confirmed a Constitutional Court judgment had been issued. When pressed on whether parliament would initiate proceedings, he affirmed this was the case. The timing of the new restart process is parliament's decision, not the government's. When asked if there would be a fresh count, he said that depends on parliament, and noted that as Pheu Thai Party leader, he had previously stated certain provisions touching on Thai sovereignty should not be altered, with other matters being open for discussion. Regarding whether reratifying the old draft would proceed faster than a fresh start, he said he did not know.

PM Anuthpin Denies AI-Generated Audio Clip About Thai-Cambodian Border Opening, Reaffirms Thailand Terminated MOU 44 Unilaterally

PM Anuthpin dismissed an AI-generated audio clip circulating online about opening the Thai-Cambodian border, reaffirming Thailand's unilateral termination of the MOU 44 agreement with Cambodia.

6d ago Khaosod

At 11:00 AM on May 13, 2025, at Don Mueang Airport Terminal 2 in Bangkok, Prime Minister Anuthpin Charnveerakul and Interior Minister addressed an audio clip circulating on social media allegedly featuring the PM discussing opening the Thai-Cambodian border. "That's clearly AI," Anuthpin stated. "I don't speak that way. Don't believe it. Why does the method start sounding off every day? That's unreliable. I never said it. There will definitely be no border opening."

When asked about Hun Sen, chairman of Cambodia's Senate, calling on the Cambodian government to reject new bilateral negotiations with Thailand over maritime disputes following Thailand's MOU 44 termination, Anuthpin clarified that Thailand unilaterally terminated the agreement and required no permission or notification. He noted that during ASEAN meetings in Cebu, Philippines last week, he had already informed the Cambodian PM of the decision, which they acknowledged with disappointment.

Anuthpin stated that Thailand would pursue mandatory conciliation mechanisms, though Cambodia's position differs. Thailand's approach follows UNCLOS principles regarding maritime law, with no negotiation format yet determined. Regarding detained Thai nationals facing Cambodian military charges, he said his government is coordinating assistance. "If our people didn't intentionally violate their laws and aren't involved in smuggling or security threats, we'll seek their return. This is a government-level disagreement unrelated to the public," Anuthpin emphasized, urging citizens not to become entangled in the dispute.

On border wall construction progress, Anuthpin confirmed that the military has received budgetary approval from the government, with implementation proceeding through various security agencies including Army, Navy, and Royal Thai Armed Forces headquarters, each responsible for their respective border sections.

Liverpool Manager's Seat Occupied: Xavi Alonso Dreams of the Role, but Arteta Shows No Signs of Being Sacked

Xabi Alonso dreams of managing Liverpool, but Mikel Arteta remains in charge despite fan frustration, leaving the Spanish coach considering Chelsea's offer instead.

6d ago Khaosod

Reports indicate that Xabi Alonso dreams of managing Liverpool, but the "Reds" managerial position remains unavailable since Mikel Arteta shows no signs of being sacked. Alonso has been without a club since parting ways with Real Madrid in early January and has been linked with Liverpool, where Arteta currently manages. Despite leading Liverpool to a disappointing performance this season, Arteta continues to receive backing from Fenway Sports Group, the club's owners. Early this week, Chelsea—looking to find a new permanent head coach—approached Alonso to sound him out for the role. According to Sky Sports, Alonso's dream job is managing Liverpool, but there is currently no position available. He desires to manage a Premier League team, though he is willing to consider Chelsea's offer if circumstances are appropriate. Liverpool fans are increasingly frustrated with Arteta following a difficult and disappointing season, yet he maintains support from Fenway Sports Group amid the possibility that Alonso could return to manage the club. Chelsea is considering approximately five or six managerial candidates and has already contacted their representatives. Alonso currently stands as the most prominent candidate fitting their criteria, though the club is also evaluating other lesser-known options including Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth manager), Marco Silva (Fulham manager), Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace manager), Cesc Fabregas (Como manager), and Felipe Luis (former Flamengo manager).
