Thai actor Kongthap Peekaboo is making waves in the global entertainment industry with leading roles in two Korean short-form dramas: "The Devil's Kiss," a fantasy drama, and "Shared Space Romance," a romantic comedy. Both were previously showcased at the Hong Kong International Filmart 2026.
At the recent 17th Natrajacht Award ceremony at M Sphere, Peekaboo confirmed that both series have completed filming and are currently in the promotional phase. The streaming platform will be announced soon, with viewers expected to gain access within 1-2 months.
When asked about the trend of "Thai male leads being exported," Peekaboo expressed gratitude, viewing it as an important opportunity for a young actor to pursue his dreams. He revealed that he recently returned from work on another project in a different country—one he couldn't disclose details about yet—which he described as more linguistically challenging than his Korean work.
Regarding the two Korean series, Peekaboo explained that production has wrapped and promotion is underway. "Everyone will get to watch very soon. I can't say which platform yet, but within 1-2 months, I'll let you know where you can watch," he said.
Peekaboo discussed how he prepared for the Korean dialogue, spending roughly two weeks memorizing scripts and participating in workshops with the production team. "Speaking Korean throughout both entire series was quite the experience," he noted.
The two dramas showcase different genres: the first features him playing an evil character or demon in a fantasy setting, while the second casts him as a high school student with a brighter personality who harbors inner conflicts.
On the phenomenon of Thai actors gaining international prominence, Peekaboo expressed enthusiasm. "As a relatively young actor, having these opportunities to do what I've dreamed of means everything," he said. He added that he recently returned from another country for a different project, which he couldn't fully disclose but described as even more challenging than his Korean work.
When asked if he's focusing exclusively on international work, Peekaboo clarified that he hasn't left Thailand entirely and remains open to domestic Thai projects when opportunities arise. "Right now, opportunities abroad are available, so I'm taking those as well," he explained, emphasizing that he's not abandoning Thai entertainment but rather expanding his horizons internationally.
