Udom Laksana finds new love with a blessing from the goddess—matches her ideal—keeps relationship off social media to avoid being seen as a lesser person

Thai actress Udom Laksana has found love with a partner who matches her ideals after praying to the goddess, but keeps their relationship private on social media to protect her daughter and avoid repeating past relationship drama.

3d ago Khaosod

Actress Udom Laksana has found new love with divine blessing and says her new partner matches her ideals perfectly. She reveals why she hasn't publicly introduced her boyfriend on social media, explaining she doesn't want to be perceived as a lesser person.

After nearly three years of dating, the glamorous single mother has kept her boyfriend's identity private, never introducing him on social media. Recently, at the grand opening of "Laks Cafe & SRILAKSHAKTI – DEVI" in Bangkok, she was asked whether she might soon reveal her new boyfriend's face. When asked if she asked the goddess for blessings on this new relationship, she confirmed: "Yes, I prayed for a good, sincere person who loves me, is faithful, and cares for only me. Not just a sugar daddy or sponsor, but complete, well-rounded love. I'm also grateful to him—without him, my Tewa Laye might not have succeeded. He's exactly what I prayed for."

Her boyfriend knew about her prayers from the start. "He knew before we even dated," she explained. "Before opening this place, I took him to pray to Goddess Lakshmi. I told her if this person is good and if she approves, please let us be together. If not, please cut him off. And now we've been together for three years."

When asked why she hasn't revealed his face on social media after three years, she said: "I want to be 100 percent certain first. I have a child, and sometimes too much news isn't good for kids. But my family knows him, I've never hidden him. Whenever we go out, if my family meets someone, that's who it is. I'm just keeping social media private for now because I've been through a lot of relationship drama. I don't want to delete photos, feel heartbroken, or issue corrections. I don't want my daughter asking why mommy changed boyfriends again. She actually Googles 'Udom Laksana's boyfriends' and asks me about them. Kids today are smart. So I'm waiting until everything is solid before going public."

Some people comment that she's keeping quiet because she's with someone of lower status. "That happens in society, everyone has different perspectives. But I can't control what people think. In real life, I live normally and never hide anything. My family and social circle see everything. I'm just keeping social media private for now. Some people might wonder why after three years I still haven't revealed him, but honestly, whenever I've opened up before, things have fallen apart. I also believe in timing. This time, I decided not to reveal anything and see how long it lasts. And here we are, three years later."

Her boyfriend is completely okay with staying off social media. "Yes, he's fine with it. He's shy too and doesn't even have social media," she said. "Does he get along with Disney [her daughter]? Very well. Disney, my family, his family, and all our friends know him."

Anutin Orders Land Department to Crack Down on Nominee Land Schemes with Strict Oversight at Every Transaction Stage

Prime Minister Anutin has ordered the Land Department to crack down on foreign nationals using Thai nominees to illegally hold land, with stricter oversight of all transactions nationwide to prevent price inflation and protect Thai citizens

3d ago Khaosod

Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has expressed concern over the growing problem of foreign nationals using Thai nominees to hold land, which is driving up property prices and limiting Thai citizens' access to resources. He has ordered the Land Department to intensify inspections and monitoring of land transactions nationwide to prevent the use of Thai proxies for foreign land ownership and close legal loopholes. Following this directive, the Land Department sent urgent letters to all provincial governors asking them to brief officials and coordinate with relevant agencies to strictly enforce guidelines preventing foreign-backed land ownership schemes. The department is also promoting public awareness to prevent citizens from becoming unwitting nominees or facilitating illegal land transfers, with instructions for them to report violations to authorities and support operations by security command sectors. All land offices nationwide have been ordered to accelerate surveillance and monitoring of high-risk transactions, with particular emphasis on careful and rigorous registration procedures in major economic zones, tourist areas, and regions with significant foreign capital land deals. The Land Department confirmed it has continuously implemented counter-measures including deep investigations into fund sources, connections between land holders, corporate shareholding structures, and suspicious nominee patterns. When violations are discovered, immediate legal action is required, including cases where individuals or Thai-majority companies purchase land with cash payments of two million baht or more, or property valued at five million baht or higher for registration fees—except for inheritance transfers—which require further investigation into fund sources and financial status. Cases involving corporations with risky nominee structures, suspicious shareholding changes, capital increases, or unusual proportion shifts are also subject to detailed investigation. All land offices must conduct monthly reviews of corporations with foreign shareholders or executives suspected of nominee schemes and report findings every three months. Clear evidence of violations triggers strict legal action against both companies and individuals involved.

Fai Peeranaya, First-Time Producer, Gets Stressed and Changes Hair Color for a Mood Boost—Wins People Of The Year Award

Actress Fai Peeranaya debuted cherry red hair at a Bangkok event after wrapping her latest series and winning the People Of The Year award at KAZZ Awards 2026, explaining the color change was a stress-relief mood boost from her new producer

3d ago Khaosod

Fai Peeranaya Maliz'on made an appearance at the BROKEN (Of) LOVE: The Last Promise event on the 6th floor of Siam Paragon cinema sporting a striking new cherry red hair color that caught many people's attention about potential upcoming projects. She explained that the color change was purely a personal preference, noting that her recent series work had just wrapped up. She also shared her thoughts after winning the 'People Of The Year' award at KAZZ AWARDS 2026.

"The award serves as a reminder that our efforts aren't worthless," she said. "It makes me feel like there's a purpose to my future work. Thank you for every award and every cheer, whether it came from voting or not."

When asked what awards she dreams of winning, she replied: "I haven't really thought about it, but regardless of what award it is, I'd be happy if people feel my skills and I are suitable for it."

Regarding the hair color, she clarified that the cherry red was done through Khun Thong Studio and has already started to fade after two washes. "It's just a personal preference. I don't have any series work right now since my last project just finished, and there's no upcoming project. But as a first-time producer, there's a lot of stress and pressure, so I look at small things that make me happy as a way to find joy in myself. It doesn't diminish the quality of my work."

She mentioned that fans loved the new look and have been requesting she keep the red hair for an upcoming Macau event.

On whether the economic downturn has affected her hair salon business, she said: "We're managing okay and things are still going. But I still believe Thai people love beauty and aesthetics no matter what the economy is like. Beauty is a priority, and in such a stressful economic climate, small joys and beauty treatments are what make people happy. I believe Thai people will always value beauty."

When asked if actor Atom also gets his hair cut at her salon, she enthusiastically confirmed: "Yes, yes! Atom comes to us. He likes it and says our cutting skills are excellent." (A humorous exchange followed about the scissors' sharpness.)

Deputy PM Orders Consumer Protection Office to Crack Down on Fake Airline Ticket Agency Scam with Criminal Charges

Deputy PM orders consumer protection officials to crack down on a travel agency scam that defrauded customers of over 10 million baht by selling fake airline tickets to Japan, South Korea, and Europe.

3d ago Khaosod

Deputy Prime Minister Supamas Iatsraphakdi, overseeing the Consumer Protection Board (CPB), announced action against an airline ticket fraud scheme targeting routes to Japan, South Korea, and Europe. Multiple victims filed complaints after being deceived by a travel agency that falsely advertised airline promotions but failed to deliver tickets or allow travel, causing damages exceeding 10 million baht.

The scam operated by initially delivering legitimate tickets to early customers, generating word-of-mouth referrals. Since April, the company stopped delivering tickets and demanded additional payments for fuel surcharges and airport taxes. When customers transferred extra funds, they received nothing, and refund requests were indefinitely delayed.

Supamas ordered the CPB to establish a task force for urgent complaints and create a fast-track consumer rights protection process. Officials will meet with affected consumers, the business operator, and airlines on May 21 to gather facts and attempt mediation. If no settlement is reached, the CPB will immediately pursue cases on behalf of consumers while coordinating with law enforcement for criminal prosecution of all charges without exception.

The CPB must report progress every seven days and regularly disclose information to the public to ensure no complaints fall through the cracks. Supamas advised the public to follow three verification steps before transferring money: verify identity by purchasing directly from airlines or trusted platforms and checking business registration with the Tourism Authority; check prices against major airline websites to avoid suspiciously cheap tickets; and avoid transferring to personal accounts or additional payments claiming to fix old deals, which are typical fraud indicators.

Supamas warned that the government and CPB will take strict action against anyone exploiting online loopholes to defraud consumers and urged the public to verify all details carefully before making transfers.

Taiwanese Man Flees Police, Hides in Sewage Treatment Tank, Eventually Surrenders

A Taiwanese man who evaded police by hiding in a sewage tank was sentenced to additional prison time for assaulting officers and attempted escape during his arrest in November 2024.

3d ago Khaosod

A Taiwanese man named Chen from Jilong city was sentenced to 1 year and 7 months for document forgery but failed to report to the prosecutor's office as required, resulting in an arrest warrant. When two police officers attempted to apprehend him on November 4, 2024, in a parking lot, he violently resisted, hitting and kicking the officers and causing bruises and lacerations. While being transported to a hospital for his own injuries, Chen rammed a police officer and fled. During the chase, he jumped into a nearby pit to hide. When reinforcements arrived, officers persuaded him continuously and had his family call to convince him to surrender. Chen eventually crawled out, his entire body covered in sewage from what turned out to be an old treatment tank. Firefighters used high-pressure water hoses to clean him. The court sentenced him to 4 months imprisonment for assaulting officers and attempting to escape, with the option to pay a fine of 120,000 New Taiwan dollars (approximately 123,000 baht) instead. The court noted his low regard for the law but considered his confession and willingness to compensate the injured officers in its sentencing.

GCR to Hold Dialogue on Outdated Law Reforms on May 19

The Zero Corruption Task Force will hold a dialogue on May 19 to prioritize outdated laws needing reform, after presenting anti-corruption initiatives and digital transparency proposals to Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister.

3d ago Khaosod

On May 15, Phot Aramwattananont, chairman of the Zero Corruption Task Force of GCR and chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, along with teams from three private sector institutions—GCR, the Thai Anti-Corruption Organization (Thailand), the Institute for Justice (TIJ), and academics from TDRI—met with Deputy Prime Minister Phorn Nila Praphand (Legal Affairs) to propose sustainable solutions to corruption and push for legal reforms to strengthen the country's competitive capacity.

The Zero Corruption Task Force presented three key initiatives:

1. Declaring anti-corruption as a "national agenda" and proposing the establishment of a "National Anti-Corruption Committee" chaired by the Prime Minister, along with a public-private cooperation committee to jointly monitor and promote ethical practices.

2. Using digital technology to open government data, proposing the use of budget tracking dashboards and centralized data exchange systems to reduce official discretion and emphasize interconnected government data.

3. Elevating four transparency pilot agencies—the Finance Ministry, Interior Ministry, Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry, and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration—by emphasizing the disclosure of procurement information through the e-Government Procurement system and establishing citizen feedback mechanisms.

The task force also proposed the "Reinvent Thailand" plan to address outdated laws that obstruct business operations in target industries.

Deputy Prime Minister Phorn Nila Praphand acknowledged the proposals and stated that the government has a clear policy against corruption, particularly closing legal loopholes that facilitate bribery. He committed to presenting these recommendations to the Prime Minister.

The next step for Zero Corruption will be tabled at a GCR meeting on May 19 to prioritize laws requiring urgent reform, with emphasis on measures benefiting small businesses and the general public. The refined proposal will be discussed again with the Deputy Prime Minister in early June 2025, with a June 10 submission deadline before proceeding to the Cabinet meeting.

"We must work together to build trust and confidence. Without it, the country cannot move forward," the statement emphasized.

Pichit, SME D Bank MD, Embraces 'Warawut' Policy to Help Thai SMEs Navigate Crisis

SME D Bank is implementing the government's "Warawut" policy to support Thai small and medium enterprises through easier access to financing, green business transitions, and reduced collateral requirements amid economic challenges.

3d ago Khaosod

Industry Minister Warawut Silpaarch visited the Bank for Small and Medium Enterprise Development (SME D Bank), a state-owned specialized financial institution under the Industry Ministry's supervision, to deliver new operational policies. He emphasized that the bank must continue supporting Thai SME operators in all circumstances and facilitate their smooth transition to green business practices in line with the government's "ONE MIND single industry" policy, built on four pillars: listening to public and business voices, launching new economic engines, responsive governance, and ministerial commitment. These will be implemented through rapid and broad access to financial services coupled with development support, including technology and innovation training.

The bank must integrate cooperation with agencies under the Industry Ministry and both public and private sector partners to maximize efficiency for SMEs, helping them increase productivity, reduce costs, minimize waste and greenhouse gas emissions, adopt clean energy, and manage environmentally-friendly supply chains. This will enable Thai SMEs to adapt to global economic changes, compete internationally, and build long-term economic security.

Pichit Mitravongse, SME D Bank's Managing Director, stated that the bank is ready to implement the industry minister's policies as the primary mechanism supporting SMEs and linking partner organizations to enhance SME competitiveness amid economic challenges. The bank has implemented improvements across multiple dimensions, including clear policy communication at all levels, removing regulatory obstacles, relaxing borrower qualifications and collateral requirements, and increasing SME access to capital, particularly in target industries such as food, agricultural processing, and wellness.

The bank has incorporated ESG principles to promote environmentally and socially responsible business practices among SMEs while maintaining proper risk management. The bank has established a three-dimensional action plan: First, improving capital access by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises with total lending of over 20 billion baht at a low fixed interest rate of just 3% per year for the first three years, with repayment terms extending up to 10 years to ensure adequate liquidity during economic crises.

True Blue Friend! Chinese Blogger Drives Over 1,300 km Overnight to Help Student Attend Mother's Funeral

A Chinese blogger drove 1,300 kilometers overnight to help a grieving university student reach her mother's funeral in a remote village, refusing all compensation despite spending thousands on fuel, tolls, and offerings.

3d ago Khaosod

A touching story from China has gone viral online after a young blogger drove over 1,300 kilometers to help a female student get back home to see her mother one last time before the funeral. The incident involved a fourth-year student from North Min University in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northern China. On the evening of May 7, the student received news that her mother had died suddenly. With her hometown located in a remote mountainous area, she frantically searched for the fastest way to travel. Her roommate contacted blogger Yu Jinhui, a physical education student who co-manages the social media account @yuyuqiubite with 730,000 followers, asking for help. Yu and his team immediately agreed to the task. They picked up the unnamed student and comforted her during her time of deep sorrow before departing at 1:30 a.m. on May 8. Throughout the long journey, Yu drove the entire route while his three teammates kept him company and helped keep him alert. The total travel time was approximately 13 hours to reach a village in Enshi, Hubei Province. During the final 100 kilometers, Yu nearly ran out of energy and became nauseous from consuming large amounts of energy drinks to fight drowsiness. Despite his exhaustion, the team still purchased offerings and paid their respects to the student's mother, staying there for about 2 hours before returning. Yu revealed that the team spent approximately 5,200 yuan (around 24,000 baht) on the entire journey, covering fuel, highway tolls, food, accommodation, and offerings. They also gave an additional 1,000 yuan (around 4,800 baht) to the student as assistance. When the student tried to offer payment for fuel as repayment, Yu's team refused all compensation, choosing to help out of their own goodwill.
