Seeing that beautiful smile on an aircraft isn't easy, but the dream has come true for Mahimlae Pornchada, a celebrated actress from Channel 7, who is embarking on a major new chapter in her life as a Thai Airways flight attendant. Despite widespread congratulations, the young actress will not abandon her acting work.

Senate Cafeteria Opens for Self-Service Food Purchase on First Day; Grienggai Confident Crisis Will Ease, Free Meals May Return

27 Apr Khaosod

On April 27, 2569 at 11:30 AM, the Senate cafeteria on the second floor opened for self-service dining for the first time, featuring three food vendors offering noodle soup with pork and lime, red pork rice, desserts, and Muslim food (chicken rice box at 70 baht per box). Beverages remain complimentary, and payment is processed through digital scanning only.

Senate member Chaiyong Maneerungsukul reported adequate food variety with rice, noodles, and desserts available, though noted the lack of fresh fruit. First Senate Vice-President Grienggai Srirak also participated, purchasing red pork rice and crispy pork, buying five boxes for visiting guests.

Greienggai stated the atmosphere is lively and represents a shift amid the national crisis caused by Middle Eastern energy issues, with the Senate contributing to budget conservation. He explained this is the first day of trials with 3-4 vendors, with plans to survey members' preferences for menu adjustments in coming days. Regarding savings, he estimated costs dropping from 800 baht per person daily to approximately 200 baht or less, with his own meal costing 60 baht.

When asked about dissenting members, Grienggai noted that understanding must be developed through various committees, with most voting in favor of this measure as a temporary crisis response. He stated that if conditions normalize, free meals could return to their previous format. Some members expressed willingness to bring food from home if vendors aren't available. The rotating vendor system will continue until normal conditions resume, with potential expansion to include Parliament secretariat staff purchases if needed.

Doctor Reveals 10 Deadly Food Groups: Daily Consumption Thickens Blood, Causes Arterial Calcification and Stroke Risk

A Thai doctor warns that 10 common food groups consumed daily by 90% of Thais—including sugary drinks, processed meats, and fried foods—damage blood vessels and increase stroke risk through arterial inflammation and calcium buildup.

27 Apr Khaosod

Doctor O'Oak reveals 10 dangerous food groups threatening life, causing thickened blood, arterial calcium buildup, and stroke—foods 90% of Thais consume without restraint. He provides blood vessel cleansing recipes.

Dr. Supharak Vicharanyarn, owner of the "Doctor O'Oak DoctorSixpack" page, posted about daily foods that threaten life. He states that 10 food groups cause thickened blood, calcium deposits in arteries, stroke, and bedridden conditions—foods 90% of Thais eat uncontrollably.

After reviewing medical data and studying lifestyle medicine and longevity science, Doctor O'Oak found that the major acute health threat killing Thais is "coronary artery calcium (CAC)." Many mistakenly believe calcium intake causes arterial calcification, but at the cellular level, calcification results from arterial inflammation and tears. The body then draws calcium to patch the wounds until they become hardened plaque. The culprit that damages blood vessels is "copper coin recipe" foods we eat daily.

Today, Doctor O'Oak breaks down 10 dangerous food groups with 10 specific examples in each category and provides methods to switch to "golden coin recipe" foods that cleanse blood vessels.

1. Sugary Drinks and Syrups Why they accelerate arterial calcification: When sugar and high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) enter the bloodstream, they bind to proteins, creating "AGEs" (Advanced Glycation End-products). These substances scratch the capillary lining, causing inflammation. The body then draws calcium to cover the wound until it becomes calcification.

10 items to strictly avoid: - Sweet milk tea with tapioca pearls - Iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk - All soft drinks - Boxed fruit juice (high hidden sugar) - Pre-made sweet sour milk drinks - Energy drinks in glass bottles - Bottled green tea with added sugar - Red cola - Iced milk or cart-style iced tea - Fruit smoothies with syrup

Replacement foods (golden coin recipe): Mineral water, alkaline water, black coffee (Americano), or pure organic matcha green tea brewed in the morning (strict rule: Doctor O'Oak's matcha formula forbids lattes—must be brewed with plain room-temperature or warm water only, absolutely no milk or sugar). EGCG compounds help reduce arterial inflammation.

2. Ultra-Processed Meats Why they accelerate arterial calcification: Processed meat contains very high levels of synthetic inorganic phosphates. These are 100% absorbed into the bloodstream, exceeding the kidneys' excretion capacity. When blood phosphate levels spike, it binds with calcium, forming "calcification" that accumulates in heart and brain artery walls directly.

10 items to strictly avoid: - Red sausages or cheese sausages - Sliced ham - Smoked bacon - Oily sausage - Pork with flour mix - Pork offal - Processed fish ball - Bologna slices - Salami - Seasoned dried salted meat

Replacement foods (golden coin recipe): Protein from natural animal sources like deep-sea fish (salmon, mackerel), organic chicken breast, or clean plant-based protein (tofu, tempeh, legumes) that don't create synthetic phosphate residue in the blood.

3. Bakery and Industrial Pastries Why they accelerate arterial calcification: Besides containing refined white flour and high sugar, the most dangerous element is trans fats from shortening and margarine. These fats oxidize LDL cholesterol into rust-like particles that penetrate artery walls, creating plaque ready to harden into calcification.

10 items to strictly avoid: - Fried dough sticks (pa tong go) - Margarine croissants - Sugar-glazed donuts - Cream cake

27 Apr Khaosod

Xavi Simons, playmaker for Tottenham Hotspur and the Dutch national team, has confirmed he will miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup after suffering a torn right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The 23-year-old was injured during Tottenham's 1-0 Premier League win over Wolverhampton on April 25. Initial reports indicated the ACL injury would sideline him for 7-8 months. Simons posted a statement confirming his World Cup absence, saying: "Life is cruel, and today it really is. My season has ended abruptly and I'm trying to understand it. To be honest, I'm devastated. Nothing makes sense. All I wanted to do was fight for my team, and now that ability has been taken from me, along with the World Cup." 27 Apr Khaosod

What started as a joke about unemployment turned into an unexpected business opportunity when Nick Greenawalt from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, had a brilliant idea to transform a tiny space like a toilet into a real revenue-generating advertising area.

Initially, he simply posted humorous content about his unemployment status, but it attracted overwhelming attention. This led him to seriously pursue selling advertising space on his bathroom toilet. In his personal profile, he jokingly wrote: "CEO of unemployment, trying to make $1,000,000 from my toilet," a tagline that perfectly captured the trend and gave the concept a unique identity.

Shortly afterward, numerous major brands began booking space. Clorox, Pine-Sol, and MiraLAX featured their logos and messages on the toilet, while grooming brand Dr Squatch participated with a cheeky comment: "All I hear is 'King Dr Squatch.'" Cryptocurrency company MoonPay also joined the viral moment, posting: "24 hours ago, we advertised MoonPay on a stranger's toilet bowl."

The results were remarkable. MoonPay revealed that the campaign generated 1 million Instagram video views, increased app downloads, and gained over 1,000 new followers—all while spending just 0.05% of their annual marketing budget. The campaign cost was remarkably low despite its exceptional reach.

On social media, his videos went viral rapidly, with some clips receiving over 40 million views and others nearly 13 million. Many viewers praised the creative thinking and saw it as new inspiration for the content and marketing world. Many comments noted that this idea represents not just novelty, but genuine out-of-the-box thinking that can turn into real career opportunities. Some even view him as a representative of a new generation of creators who can transform ordinary things into remarkable business ventures.

Navy boosts eastern border with Thai-made AWAV 8×8 vehicles

The Royal Thai Navy will acquire additional AWAV 8×8 armoured vehicles to strengthen border security and support the domestic defence industry. These domestically designed and manufactured vehicles meet international military standards and feature high mobility across all terrain types. The procurement supports Thailand's defence policy of reducing import reliance while bolstering both military readiness and industrial self-sufficiency.

27 Apr Khaosod

The Royal Thai Navy will procure additional Armoured Wheel Amphibious Vehicle 8×8 (AWAV 8×8) units to strengthen its operational capability along the eastern border and support domestic defence industry development, a navy spokesperson said on 27 April 2026.

Rear Admiral Parach Rattanachaiyaphan said the procurement from Chaiseri Metal and Rubber Co., Ltd. is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the navy's readiness in line with current security conditions, including safeguarding maritime sovereignty, responding to emerging threats and supporting disaster relief operations.

The AWAV 8×8 was designed by Thai engineers and manufactured domestically using local labour and machinery, reflecting the country's growing defence industrial capability. At least 40% of its production value comes from locally sourced materials, helping strengthen domestic supply chains, reduce reliance on imports and support long-term industrial security.

The eight-wheeled vehicle offers high mobility across all terrains and can operate effectively alongside the navy's landing platform dock (LPD) vessels. In terms of protection and firepower, the AWAV meets STANAG standards for ballistic and blast resistance and is equipped with machine guns, control systems and integrated communications that connect with the navy's network. It also complies with MIL-STD environmental standards, ensuring durability in both land and maritime operations.

The navy has already deployed seven AWAV units, which have demonstrated high operational readiness and effectiveness. Additional procurement is considered necessary to meet force requirements and support future operational plans.

Rear Admiral Parach said the move not only enhances the navy's capability but also advances Thailand's defence industry policy, strengthening long-term self-reliance and contributing to national security in both military and economic dimensions.
