At 9:30 p.m. on April 26, Lamphun's Radio Center 191 received reports of a shooting and stabbing attack near a noodle shop beside the former Inter-Tech College in Sri Phong Chai community, Phaholyothin Road, Chomphu Sub-district, Muang District, Lamphun Province. The incident left one person dead and two others critically injured. Police from Khlong Nakhon Station, forensic teams, medical examiners from Lamphun Hospital, and rescue units rushed to the scene.

The deceased was identified as Chaiwut (surname withheld), approximately 50 years old, a restaurant employee at Lamphun Wiangthong Hotel and local journalist. He was shot once in the chest and died at the scene. The two injured women were Panutnda (or Bee), 53, a local journalist, stabbed multiple times in the head, back, and hands; and Iv, approximately 49, his sister, slashed in the head and body in several places with critical injuries. Both were rushed to Lamphun Hospital.

Prior conflicts existed between the parties over parking disputes, which escalated into arguments and loud disturbances. Panutnda had texted her sister warning of potential violence. When Chaiwut opened the door to assess the situation, the suspect shot him with a shotgun. The attacker then grabbed a machete and charged at Panutnda inside the room without hesitation. As she attempted to hide under a bed, her sister heard the gunshot and rushed to help but was also severely slashed. The suspect then fled on a black scooter motorcycle.

The suspect's wife stated she was tidying the shop when the incident occurred and only heard the gunshot and witnessed her husband's attack. She was questioned by officers for detailed investigation. Police are actively pursuing the suspect for prosecution while the media community mourns the loss of a dedicated and well-liked colleague, calling for swift arrest.

The incident sparked widespread criticism online, with many calling for legal action against the influencer.

The company behind Crocodile Brand liniment has commented on the incident involving influencer Bird Wanwangwang, who used the medicated oil instead of talcum powder on Songkran celebrants in Phra Pradaeng. The company confirmed they have contacted the content creator and will closely monitor and take appropriate action.

On April 26, 2026, Bird Wanwangwang posted a video from a Songkran celebration in Phra Pradaeng where she used Crocodile Brand liniment instead of talcum powder, diluting it in water and applying it to the faces and bodies of festival participants. This is considered highly dangerous, and the video showed the influencer unaware of the risks and potential harm to those exposed to the medicated oil.

Meanwhile, the Facebook page "So Pao - This Requires Attention" also highlighted the issue, stating: "This year's Songkran in Phra Pradaeng saw 'Bird Wanwangwang' take the prank too far, using 'Crocodile Brand liniment' instead of powder and applying it to the faces and bodies of people playing in the water, including children."

After the post went viral, many people criticized the action. Importantly, the Crocodile Brand liniment company itself commented, stating:

7-Year-Old Appears in Rescuer's Dream, Claims He Didn't Drown; Stepfather Responds Heatedly Over Crime Scene Investigation Timing

A 7-year-old boy found dead in a Thai pond allegedly appeared in a rescuer's dream claiming he didn't drown, while his stepfather denied accusations of suspicious behavior at the crime scene. Police are investigating whether the child's dea

26 Apr Khaosod

A 7-year-old boy appeared in a rescue worker's dream, asking for help and saying he did not drown, while pointing at someone. The stepfather strongly disputed accusations about his absence from the crime scene when the body was discovered, maintaining that he only asked about the time of death and does not believe it was murder.

On April 26, 2026, Nattiew, 7 years old, was found dead from drowning in a pond in the middle of a sugarcane field in Nong Kanonsima village, Ban Jan subdistrict, Ban Dung district, Udon Thani province, after disappearing from home for several days. Many people questioned whether the boy's drowning was genuine. Police sent the body for autopsy to determine the true cause of death.

Most recently, Nayapramouan, 44, the stepfather, told media that reports claimed he did not visit the scene because he was taking his wife to the hospital, as she had fainted. While at the hospital, rescue workers informed him they had found the boy. He was relieved and asked the rescuer how they found him. The rescuer replied, "Please don't make me say." He then asked the rescuer not to tell the boy's mother yet.

When asked by reporters if he inquired about the time of death during the ambulance ride, Nayapramouan admitted he did ask, saying he was simply curious about the time of death. He noted the body appeared bloated but had nothing else remarkable. However, he does not suspect murder and only wanted to know the time of death. He questioned why reporters claimed he didn't visit the scene, noting he was at the hospital and couldn't visit the location anyway.

Regarding claims that Nattiew was rude, Nayapramouan said this was true and the villagers confirm it—sometimes the boy spoke well, sometimes not. He said discipline involved only striking the legs, never the head. Regarding Nattiew appearing in the rescuer's dream saying, "Help me, I didn't drown," Nayapramouan said it's unclear, but questioned the motive for killing a child. What would be gained by murder—robbing a child or the child insulting someone? A small child has nothing to steal. If it were murder, why kill such a young child? He believes Nattiew likely wandered far while following a dog and was looking for crabs and fish.

Meanwhile, King, 17, a volunteer rescuer, said he visited the scene yesterday. However, last night he dreamed that the boy told him, "Help me, I didn't drown," while pointing at someone. King said he doesn't know who the person was because he couldn't remember faces in the dream.

Bird Wan Waang Does It Again: Uses Cement Adhesive Instead of Powder at Phra Prathang Songkran Festival, Reveals Serious Health Risks

Content creator Bird Wan Waang applied cement adhesive to Songkran festival participants instead of powder, a dangerous prank that can cause chemical burns, severe eye damage, and permanent vision loss.

26 Apr Khaosod

Bird Wan Waang has made headlines again after pulling a dangerous stunt at Phra Prathang's Songkran festivities. Instead of using traditional powder, the content creator mixed cement adhesive in a container and applied it to unsuspecting festival participants, captioning the video "Is this how they play Songkran powder at Phra Prathang?" In the footage, Bird displayed a package of crocodile-branded cement adhesive, mixed it in a plastic bucket while wearing plastic gloves, then went out to splash the unknown substance on Songkran celebrants.

The "Drama-addict" page subsequently detailed the hazards of cement adhesive, which contains portland cement, silica sand, and additional chemical compounds. When exposed to moisture or water, these ingredients become highly alkaline and can cause severe harm to the human body in multiple ways:

1. Skin Contact: Hazards: Cement in the adhesive extracts moisture from skin, causing dryness, tightness, redness, itching, and irritation. Prolonged contact or exposure to sweaty or wet skin can result in chemical burns, dermatitis, and skin peeling. Solution: Rinse immediately with clean water and soap thoroughly. Avoid scratching affected areas. Seek medical attention if reactions are severe.

2. Eye Exposure (Extremely Dangerous): Hazards: The alkaline cement dust reacts with tear fluid, causing severe irritation, burning sensation, red eyes, and conjunctivitis. Without immediate rinsing, it can cause deep corneal scarring or lead to permanent vision loss.

A Thai AirAsia passenger claimed to have a bomb in carry-on luggage at Krabi Airport on April 26, later saying it was a joke; the flight was evacuated and delayed 4 hours while authorities found nothing and arrested the suspect.

26 Apr Khaosod

On April 26, Deputy Transport Minister Pattrapong Pattarapredit disclosed an incident in which a passenger on Thai AirAsia flight AIQ 4401, an Airbus A320 flying the Krabi-Suvarnabhumi route, made a bomb threat aboard the aircraft. He stated that as the ministry oversees the Airports of Thailand, he has coordinated with Danai Rueangson, Director-General of the Airports Authority of Thailand, and Thanisara Singha-khul, Director of Krabi Airport, regarding the matter. He has instructed all relevant agencies to closely monitor the situation and strictly adhere to aviation safety standards.

The incident occurred at 4:47 p.m. as the aircraft was backing away from its gate at Krabi Airport. The pilot immediately returned to the gate after being informed by a passenger about a dangerous object in carry-on luggage. Although the passenger later admitted it was a joke, the crew followed safety procedures and evacuated all passengers and luggage for inspection.

Krabi Airport moved the aircraft to Bay 14, away from the terminal, to conduct emergency response procedures without affecting overall operations. Other flights continued boarding and departing normally.

According to Pattrapong, the inspection was completed at 8:00 p.m. with no explosives or irregularities found. Flight AIQ 4401 departed at 9:00 p.m., resulting in a delay of approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes. The suspect is in custody and will face legal proceedings.

"I want to emphasize that passenger and flight safety is of paramount importance," Pattrapong stated. "Any allegation or act that causes panic, whether intentional or as a joke, is illegal, and authorities will take decisive action."

Songkran Violence in Phra Pradaeng: 24-Year-Old Gunman and 15-Year-Old Accomplice Open Fire on Couple, One Dead, One Injured

A 24-year-old gunman and his 15-year-old accomplice opened fire on a couple during Songkran celebrations in Phra Pradaeng, killing the 34-year-old husband and wounding his wife after a drunken misunderstanding escalated into violence.

26 Apr Khaosod

On April 26, 2026, Col. Apichat Thongphaep, superintendent of Phra Pradaeng Police Station, received a report of an armed assault with a firearm in Suksan 72 Alley, Bang Jak Subdistrict, Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province. Police dispatch teams were sent to investigate.

Two victims were identified at the scene: Ms. Sunantha, 33 years old (wife), shot in the right thigh, and Mr. Noprat, 34 years old (husband), shot in the chest with a critical condition. Good Samaritans transported both victims to Bang Prakok Hospital 3, where the husband later died from his injuries.

Investigation revealed that the shooting was carried out by Mr. Ratan, 24, accompanied by his friend Mr. Sao, 15. The pair had been celebrating Songkran by playing in water and drinking alcohol. Once intoxicated, they set out to settle a score with a rival, riding their motorcycle to two separate locations. At the first location in Suksan 74 Alley, the target wasn't present. Despite residents' attempts to intervene, Ratan drew his weapon and fired a warning shot.

The second location was Suksan 72 Alley, where they encountered Ms. Sunantha's group playing Songkran. Ms. Sunantha's daughter, who knew Mr. Sao, called out to him, but the intoxicated Ratan misinterpreted this as insults directed at him. After stopping his motorcycle and approaching the group, Ratan demanded to know who had insulted him. When a verbal argument ensued, Mr. Noprat, who had heard the commotion from nearby, came out to intervene. A physical altercation followed, during which Ratan drew his gun and fired three shots, hitting both Mr. Noprat and Ms. Sunantha before fleeing on his motorcycle.

Crowds Gather for Buddha Image Casting Ceremony as Heavy Storm Strikes—Lucky Numbers from Sacred Ritual Revealed

A Buddha image casting ceremony at Wat Luang Por Ham Jon in Phetchabun province on April 26 drew thousands of devotees despite severe winds and heavy rain that did not deter worshippers' faith. The ritual was blessed by senior Buddhist monks and resulted in the creation of a replica image for Songkran processions, with donations supporting temple construction projects. Following the ceremony, lottery enthusiasts sought lucky numbers from the sacred ritual for upcoming drawings.

26 Apr Khaosod

On April 26, 2569, at Wat Mai Samakkhi in Huai Pong subdistrict, Nong Pai district, Phetchabun province—commonly known as Wat Luang Por Ham Jon—a ceremony was held to cast a replica Buddha image of Luang Por Ham Jon. The ritual received blessings from Phra Brahm Vachiranuvatara, a member of the Great Mahathera Association and advisor to the Central Region ecclesiastical council, who served as the head of the monastic delegation. Also attending were Phra Tham Sutti, Phra Thepratanakorn, and Phra Raj Atchara Thammametthi, abbot of Wat Mahathat Luang Aramaram and provincial ecclesiastical chief for Phetchabun. Notable attendees included Ajcharya Phan Mun, director of the Phetchabun Provincial Buddhist Office; Nath Suraschadee, an artist from Wonderland music label and 18-time champion; and thousands of Buddhist devotees.

The ceremony began at 1:09 p.m. with Khun Mae Phismai Bunlikkhit, chairwoman of the lay delegation, lighting incense and candles to pay respects to the Triple Gem. The monks chanted Buddhist sutras, with Phra Brahm Vachiranuvatara blessing the image. During the ritual, a powerful summer windstorm brought heavy rain, yet the faithful remained undeterred and stayed until the ceremony concluded. Afterward, Phra Raj Atchara Thammametthi extinguished the ceremonial candles, scattered blessed rice and flowers over the Buddha image, and sprinkled sacred water in blessing.

According to Phra Kru Plad Pariyatti Watthan, assistant abbot of Wat Mahathat Luang Aramaram and ecclesiastical director of Wat Mai Samakkhi, the image was commissioned after two women from Khon Kaen province prayed to Luang Por Ham Jon for help selling their land. After their prayers, the land sold within days, prompting them to commission this replica image to be paraded during Songkran festival celebrations. The temple also created a commemorative image that was blessed during the casting ceremony and made available for veneration, with donations supporting the construction of a new ordination hall currently underway.

Lottery enthusiasts gathered after the ceremony to interpret numbers from the sacred ritual, with various participants seeing numbers such as 79 and 76 as lucky digits for the May 2 drawing.
