Karn Natcha Opens Up About Playing GL for the First Time After Channel 7 Contract Ends, Takes on FC Role for "Nam Taan-Film"

Actress Karn Natcha has officially joined NORTHSTAR agency and is starring in her first GL (Girls' Love) series, marking a significant career shift from her previous work in heterosexual dramas at Channel 7. She revealed that director Bee encouraged her to take on the role after seeing masculine energy in her personality, and she's already a fan of the GL couple Nam Taan and Film. The actress described the new role as challenging and fresh, requiring adjustments to her styling, fashion choices, and acting approach.

25 Apr Khaosod

After her Channel 7 HD contract ended last year, actress Karn Natcha Ratjayangkananth is fully diving into a GL series while officially launching her career with the NORTHSTAR agency. Fans are eager to see how far she can push this new character direction.

On April 24, the actress appeared at the NORTHSTAR FIRST LIGHT LINE UP 2026 press event at CenterPoint Studio, where she discussed the opportunity. "This is my first project with NORTHSTAR, and it marks my official debut with the agency and launch of my new series," she explained.

When asked how she connected with NORTHSTAR, Karn revealed: "It actually goes back to director Bee, someone I've worked with before. He told me he saw the 'me' (masculine energy) in me and asked if I wanted to try casting for a GL series. At first I wasn't sure, but I decided to audition with NORTHSTAR, who was open to casting at that time. I auditioned and got the role."

Regarding her knowledge of GL series, Karn admitted she's a fan of the couple Nam Taan and Film, even attending one of their fan meets. "I liked Nam Taan because she's funny, and I watched their series Pluto, Tales, Stars, Love. I felt they were both incredibly talented actors, so I went to the fan meet."

When asked if she fell for Film as well, she laughed and confirmed: "Yes, I got hooked on both of them."

About the director suggesting she had a "me" (masculine) energy when she prefers "ke" (feminine) energy, Karn joked: "I'm actually a 'ke' person and refused. Yuro is still a 'ke' too!"

Regarding this new role, she expressed that it's challenging and fresh. "Since entering the industry, I've only played heterosexual dramas. Now I have to adjust many things—my look, my acting style. I'm naturally bold, but I still have soft femininity. Once I entered the GL world, I became a tall woman, a bigger presence, especially compared to my co-stars like Pik and Mimi who play smaller characters."

She added that she's had to drop some sweetness from her image and change her wardrobe from skirts to pants. "The story itself is complex and challenging because every character has reasons for their actions. At first I didn't understand why my character did certain things. It's quite intricate, so I've had to study hard and discuss extensively with director Bee and Film to get it right."

Thailand blacklists 86 foreigners in smuggling crackdown

Thai police and customs authorities have blacklisted 86 foreign nationals as part of a joint crackdown on cross-border smuggling of cash, gold, and cannabis buds. The agencies have integrated their databases and are working with immigration authorities to prevent repeat offences by sharing offender information and barring foreign smugglers from re-entering Thailand.

25 Apr Khaosod

Thai police and customs authorities have stepped up a joint crackdown on cross-border smuggling of cash, gold and cannabis buds, blacklisting 86 foreign nationals to prevent repeat offences. Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Nirandorn Lueamsri said the Royal Thai Police and the Customs Department have integrated their databases and adopted more proactive measures to curb illicit imports and exports that undermine state revenue and national security.

Under Thai customs law, smuggling prohibited goods including narcotics, currency and gold carries criminal penalties including imprisonment and fines. However, offenders can often settle cases without police investigation by paying fines set by the customs chief or a comparison committee. For seized goods valued above 400,000 baht, settlement requires committee approval.

The committee, comprising Customs Director-General Phanthong Loykulnanta, a senior Finance Ministry inspector and Nirandorn, meets monthly and has handled numerous cases involving both Thai and foreign offenders. Authorities have found frequent attempts to move large sums of Thai currency and gold out of the country without declaration, sometimes worth millions of baht per case, raising concerns about capital flight and possible links to overseas money laundering.

Cash smuggling is typically detected at border checkpoints near casino areas, often involving ASEAN nationals, while gold smuggling is more commonly intercepted at airports, frequently involving South Asian nationals. Many offenders have extensive travel histories, with some entering and leaving Thailand dozens of times, and some are repeat offenders.

Foreign nationals have also been caught attempting to export cannabis buds without authorization, often destined for European countries. The product remains a controlled herb under Thai regulations and is illegal in many destination countries. Because many offenders settle cases by paying fines, some have been able to re-enter Thailand and reoffend.

To address this, police and customs have begun sharing offender data with the Immigration Bureau to enhance monitoring. Foreign offenders identified in the database are being placed on an immigration blacklist barring re-entry, while Thai nationals are placed on a watchlist subject to stricter screening. Authorities have compiled records on 114 individuals, 86 foreigners and 28 Thais, with all foreign nationals meeting criteria for blacklisting. Officials urged travellers to familiarize themselves with customs regulations on prohibited items to avoid legal penalties.

Democrat Party Holds Annual General Assembly; Abhisit Orders Preparations to Advance and Establish Party Foundation

The Democrat Party held its annual general assembly in a hybrid format with 299 participants, with party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva thanking members for their recent election cooperation and directing the party to establish a stronger foundation going forward. Abhisit acknowledged mixed results, noting that while the party's list system performance exceeded expectations, their constituency performance fell short, and he committed to better preparation for the next election. Despite operating as the opposition with only 21 MPs, Abhisit emphasized the party's effective oversight role in parliament and plans to expand systematic work both inside and outside the legislature.

25 Apr Khaosod

Navigating the expensive fuel crisis, the Democrat Party held its annual general assembly in a hybrid online-offline format. Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva thanked members for their support in the recent election and instructed the party to prepare and move forward with establishing a solid foundation. James Jiraphol called on all members to participate in all 35 standing committees. On April 25, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Democrat Party headquarters, the party's 2025 annual general assembly took place with party executives and members fully represented. Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, Secretary-General Chaiwut Banwatana, Korn Chatikvaniich, Kardi Liowpirojn, Vice-leaders Mekhint Ieamsaad, MPs, and other party members attended, while others participated through an online system for those unable to travel, reflecting the current fuel crisis situation.

The assembly complied with political party law and party regulations requiring at least one ordinary meeting annually during April. The assembly met quorum requirements with 299 total participants—51 in-person and 248 online.

The meeting reviewed the party's annual performance report and approved the 2024 financial statements under the Political Party Act B.E. 2560. However, no new deputy party leader was appointed to replace Wirapong Prapa, who resigned to serve as Thailand's trade representative in the Anutin Charnvirakul government.

Abhisit stated his gratitude for everyone's cooperation in the recent election despite numerous constraints, particularly time limitations that may have affected administrative readiness and candidate selection processes. Regarding election results, he noted that the party list system results were not far from targets, with list vote proportions slightly higher than in 2019, providing a foundation for future growth.

However, he acknowledged that performance in constituency elections fell short of expectations, citing various conditions in different regions that hindered success. "All this has led us to adjust our operational plans, and we are confident that for the next election, we will have time to prepare since this one ended, and we've already begun laying multiple foundations," Abhisit said.

Abhisit added that despite the party's opposition role with only 21 MPs, their voice remains sufficiently strong. All MPs are committed to utilizing every parliamentary opportunity through motions, questions, and legislative proposals coupled with debates. Their participation in government policy debates demonstrated their effectiveness as a strong oversight body, bringing reasoned, prepared, creative, and constructive proposals while articulating the party's vision on social, economic, and political issues.

The Democrat Party leader stated that parliamentary work alone is insufficient, but the party is now planning more systematic work both inside and outside parliament, with concrete results expected during the parliamentary recess in July.

Pipat to Submit Land Bridge Project to Cabinet in June, Worth 1 Trillion Baht, Seizing Strait of Hormuz Crisis Opportunity

Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn announced plans to submit the Land Bridge infrastructure project to cabinet approval between June and July, with an estimated value of 1 trillion baht. The massive port development project, designed to create trade routes across Thailand's two coasts as a response to potential Strait of Hormuz disruptions, will be entirely funded by private investors while the Thai government provides land concessions. Environmental impact assessments will be conducted to address public concerns, with bidding opening to both domestic and international investors expected in the third quarter of this year.

25 Apr Khaosod

Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn announced on April 25 at Thai Pride Party headquarters that the Land Bridge project should move forward, citing Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's earlier support. Pipat emphasized that potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz make this an opportune moment for Thailand to develop dual-coast ports on both the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand, connecting trade across two oceans.

Addressing criticism that container transshipment delays would eliminate benefits, Pipat countered with data showing over 90 percent of containerized cargo involves transshipment—meaning goods are consolidated from multiple ports rather than traveling 100 percent from origin to final destination. He explained that international shipping increasingly relies on transshipment hubs, and Thailand would benefit from attracting this traffic to its own ports.

When asked about timing, Pipat indicated the project would begin this year pending cabinet approval expected between June and July. The Transport Ministry's policy and planning office has completed surveys, with further site inspections planned. Investment opportunities will be open to both domestic and international bidders through a competitive bidding process, with investors choosing initial development locations.

Regarding funding, Pipat stated the project is estimated at approximately 1 trillion baht, but Thailand will contribute only land concessions, with private investors covering all development costs. Environmental and health impact assessments will be conducted, though Pipat acknowledged existing opposition and committed to clarifying factual concerns with local communities. He plans to visit the Land Bridge site in May and open investment opportunities beginning in the third quarter of this year.

Dr. Jed Recommends 5 Morning Beverages: Drink the Right Way to Cleanse Blood Vessels and Reduce Fat Buildup

Dr. Jetsada Bunyavongwirocho recommends five morning beverages—warm water, unsweetened lime juice, green tea, black coffee, and ginger water—that help cleanse blood vessels and reduce fat buildup through consistent daily consumption. The doctor warns against common morning habits of drinking sweet coffee or sugary beverages, explaining that morning is a critical time when metabolic processes begin and wrong choices lead to inflammation and fat accumulation throughout the day.

25 Apr Khaosod

Dr. Jed recommends five morning beverages to cleanse blood vessels and reduce fat accumulation—warning that choosing wrong drinks in the morning causes inflammation to build up.

Dr. Jed, or Dr. Jetsada Bunyavongwirocho, Deputy Director of Maha Rajachani Hospital, shares health and medical advice: "Many people reach for sweet coffee or sugary drinks immediately after waking, but morning is a critical time when your body is starting a new metabolic cycle. Choosing the wrong drinks early can cause fat, sugar, and inflammation to accumulate from the start of your day. But choosing right can improve blood vessel function, reduce fat buildup, and make blood sugar easier to control throughout the day."

Five recommended morning beverages:

1. Warm water (one glass after waking): The simplest option many overlook. Warm water stimulates blood circulation, prevents blood from becoming too thick, and activates the body's waste removal system. After a night without water, drinking immediately helps keep blood vessels from becoming sticky and reduces long-term fat accumulation.

2. Lime juice without sugar: Limes contain vitamin C and antioxidants that reduce inflammation in blood vessels and help the body manage fat better. Mixed with plain water and no sugar, it stimulates digestion and feels refreshing without spiking blood sugar. It also slightly stimulates bile production, making fat digestion more efficient.

3. Unsweetened green tea: Green tea contains catechins that reduce fat accumulation in blood vessels and lower bad LDL cholesterol long-term. Drinking unsweetened in the morning slightly boosts metabolism and reduces inflammation better than sweet coffee or high-sugar drinks. It also contains antioxidants protecting blood vessel walls from damage and reducing long-term vessel degeneration risk.

4. Black coffee (no sugar): In proper amounts, black coffee stimulates metabolism and helps the body burn fat for energy, but must have no added sugar, condensed milk, or artificial cream—these would add fat and sugar instead of helping reduce them. Caffeine also increases alertness and physical activity, benefiting overall metabolism. However, consume in moderation to avoid raising blood pressure.

5. Warm ginger water: Ginger reduces inflammation and improves blood circulation. Drinking warm ginger in the morning helps warm the body, stimulate digestion, and reduce long-term fat accumulation. It's ideal for those with bloating or poor digestion, also reducing bloating symptoms and promoting intestinal movement from early morning.

One important clarification: No beverage "cleanses blood vessels instantly" as many believe. Rather, the beverages you choose each morning have cumulative effects on inflammation, fat, and blood vessel health long-term.

Blood vessel care isn't about one large meal but starts each morning—choose appropriate drinks, reduce sugar, avoid heavily sweetened beverages, and focus on natural, unprocessed options. Done consistently daily, this genuinely helps reduce inflammation, fat accumulation, and strengthens blood vessels long-term without needing complicated methods.

Gestational Diabetes Doesn't Discriminate: Even Normal Weight Mothers at Risk, with Long-term Health Consequences for Mother and Baby

Gestational diabetes affects pregnant women of all weights due to placental hormones, not just obesity, and poses serious risks including oversized babies, delivery complications, and future diabetes for both mother and child.

25 Apr Khaosod

Gestational diabetes is a silent threat that can develop in any pregnant woman, regardless of normal weight or body size. According to Kruekoi Natcha Loychusak, executive director of Baby and Mom Thailand, many women incorrectly believe that only overweight mothers risk gestational diabetes, but all pregnant women are susceptible due to hormonal changes from the placenta, not just weight factors.

Dr. Kamlapat Wijitpunpun, a maternal and fetal medicine specialist from Wichaiyaduth Hospital, explains that gestational diabetes occurs when the placenta produces Human Placental Lactogen, which reduces maternal insulin effectiveness, raising blood sugar levels. These elevated glucose levels pass through the umbilical cord to the fetus, causing excessive fetal growth and posing serious delivery complications.

Large babies risk abnormal body and shoulder growth, potentially causing shoulder dystocia—an obstetric emergency requiring multiple delivery techniques, including maternal position adjustments or shoulder rotation maneuvers. In severe cases, doctors may need to fracture the baby's clavicle. The baby also risks arm nerve injuries leading to Erb's palsy.

Newborns face dangerous low blood sugar after delivery, as the placental glucose source is cut off while insulin levels remain high, causing lethargy, poor feeding, or shock. Medical teams monitor closely and check blood sugar immediately after birth, providing either rapid breastfeeding or intravenous fluids if necessary.

Crucially, babies exposed to high glucose in the womb may develop a "sweet metabolism system" and face future diabetes risk. For mothers, gestational diabetes increases risks of difficult delivery, severe vaginal tearing, slow wound healing, preeclampsia, excessive postpartum hemorrhage (over 500cc), shock, and future diabetes.

Dr. Kamlapat notes that international guidelines consider cesarean delivery for babies weighing 4,000-4,500 grams or more, but Thai doctors typically use 3,300-3,500 grams criteria due to lower natural delivery success rates. The decision depends on individual risk assessment between doctor and mother.

Regarding treatment, not all gestational diabetes cases require insulin injections. Diagnosis begins with a 50-gram glucose drink test; if failed, a 100-gram test follows with four blood sugar checks at one-hour intervals to assess maternal glucose tolerance.

Bruno Fernandes reveals his wife played a crucial role in keeping him at Manchester United this season

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has revealed his wife was instrumental in his decision to reject a reported 100 million pound offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal and remain at Old Trafford this season. The 31-year-old cited his wife's grounded perspective and their shared values about pursuing dreams and family life over financial gain as key factors in his choice to stay. Fernandes has been crucial to Manchester United's third-place Premier League finish and Champions League qualification, contributing 8 goals and 18 assists.

25 Apr Khaosod

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has revealed that his wife played a crucial role in his decision to reject a lucrative Saudi Arabia offer last summer and remain with the Red Devils this season.

During the previous summer transfer window, Bruno was linked with a major move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, with reports indicating that his agent Miguel Pinto negotiated a transfer deal worth approximately 100 million pounds (around 4.37 billion baht).

Ultimately, however, the 31-year-old opted to continue his career with Manchester United. He has been instrumental in helping the team secure third place in the Premier League and earn qualification for the UEFA Champions League, contributing 8 goals and 18 assists.

Recently, Bruno revealed that his wife's perspective was key to his decision to stay at Manchester United. "I stayed because I believe I can still give back to the club. Of course, the situation in Saudi Arabia involves a lot of money, but what's good about my family is that my wife is as grounded as I am."

"We know we don't want to be the richest people in the world. We just want to achieve our dreams and live a good life with our children, and try to be as successful as possible."

"My wife asked me something like: Have you achieved your dreams yet? Have you done everything you wanted to do?"

"And that small comment made me understand that she thinks like me. We'll keep pushing forward and see where it takes us."
