The Thai Meteorological Department forecasts heavy thunderstorms and heavy to very heavy rainfall across northern, northeastern, and central Thailand, including Bangkok and its vicinity, for the next 24 hours. The western and eastern regions of southern Thailand are also expected to experience heavy to very heavy rain due to an intensified southwest monsoon system covering the upper Andaman Sea and a low-pressure area over northern Vietnam. The public is urged to be vigilant about potential flash floods, flash flooding, and flash flood hazards, especially in foothill areas near water channels and low-lying regions, and to maintain health precautions during weather changes.
The Northern Region will see thunderstorms in 60 percent of the area with heavy rain in some places including Chiang Mai, Tak, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun provinces, with minimum temperatures of 24-26°C and maximum temperatures of 35-38°C.
The Northeastern Region will experience thunderstorms in 60 percent of the area with heavy rain in areas including Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Chaiyaphum, and Nakhon Ratchasima, with temperatures between 23-25°C (minimum) and 32-36°C (maximum).
The Central Region will see thunderstorms across 60 percent of the area with heavy rain in some locations in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi provinces, with minimum temperatures of 25-27°C and maximum temperatures of 35-36°C.
The Eastern Region will experience thunderstorms in 60 percent of the area with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas including Nakhon Nayok, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces, with minimum temperatures of 25-27°C and maximum temperatures of 32-36°C. Sea waves will reach approximately 2 meters, exceeding 2 meters in thunderstorm areas.
The Southern Region (eastern coast) will see thunderstorms in 60 percent of the area with heavy rain in some areas in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, and Songkhla provinces, with minimum temperatures of 24-27°C and maximum temperatures of 33-35°C. From Surat Thani northward: southwest winds at 20-35 km/h with sea waves around 2 meters offshore and exceeding 2 meters in thunderstorm areas. From Nakhon Si Thammarat southward: southwest winds at 15-35 km/h with sea waves of 1-2 meters, reaching approximately 2 meters offshore, and higher in thunderstorm areas.
