Thai Police Partner with Bangkok Metropolitan Police to Train D.A.R.E. Officers, Building Drug Resistance Education in Schools Nationwide
Thai police launched their sixth annual D.A.R.E. instructor training in Bangkok with 160 officers from across the country, aiming to strengthen drug resistance education programs in schools nationwide.
The Thai National Police and Bangkok Metropolitan Police have partnered to develop D.A.R.E. instructors and establish drug resistance programs in schools throughout Bangkok, while building digital-age life skills for Thai children. On April 28, 2025, at Bangkok's Palazzo Hotel, Police General Achayan Kraitong presided over the seminar opening ceremony alongside commanders from the Police Bureau. Deputy Metropolitan Commissioner General Siam Bunserm assigned Deputy Commissioner Theerdethai Thammasudee to oversee narcotics efforts, with participation from regional commanders and district-level officials. The sixth annual D.A.R.E. instructor enhancement training for fiscal year 2025 ran from April 28-30, 2025, with 160 police officers participating from all nine regions and specialized units. The program aims to help D.A.R.E. instructors refresh their knowledge, learn new teaching methods, exchange ideas, and strengthen motivation for their roles. Following government policy designating drug abuse as an urgent priority, the police have implemented a comprehensive framework centered on building immunity among elementary school students through structured curriculum to protect children and youth from drug involvement.
