National Police Launch Nationwide Drug Network Crackdown Operation
Thai police launched a nationwide drug crackdown on April 27, dismantling 46 networks and arresting 830 suspects over three months, seizing over 200,000 methamphetamine pills and 856 kilograms of crystal meth.
The Royal Thai Police have launched a comprehensive nationwide operation targeting drug trafficking networks on April 27 at 10:00 AM, following the policy directive of Prime Minister Anuthín Charnweerakul and the National Police Office. Police General Kittirát Pánthaphet, National Police Commissioner, and Police General Samrán Nualma, Deputy Commissioner overseeing the Drug Prevention and Suppression Center, assigned Police Lieutenant General Krítthída Kanchanaolngkorn as deputy director to chair the center's coordination meeting.
The operation aims to monitor the nationwide drug suppression situation and accelerate enforcement results. During the three-month period from March 28 to April 27, 2025, police dismantled 46 drug networks, made 819 arrests of 830 suspects, and seized over 200,000 methamphetamine pills, 856 kilograms of ice, 916 kilograms of ketamine, 86 ecstasy pills, 21 firearms, and 31 million baht in assets.
On the single day of operation, police conducted 27 raids covering 130 networks, resulting in 161 drug-related cases with 164 arrests and 9 warrant apprehensions. Seized items included 2,109 methamphetamine pills, 0.646 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 0.062 kilograms of ketamine, 1 firearm, 1.2 million baht in cash, and assets valued at over 11 million baht. The Royal Thai Police urge the public to report any drug-related suspects to hotline 191 or 1599 available 24/7 or to nearby police stations to create a safer society.
