The investigation began on April 23 when police received a report that a black Fortune SUV with Bangkok license plate ชจ 8593 had been stolen while parked in a soi in Phra Nakhon District. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to stealing the Fortune SUV while the owner was drinking at a restaurant in the same soi. He claimed he befriended the owner, convinced him to move the car as a favor, and then seized the opportunity to drive off with it. He later pawned the vehicle for 80,000 baht.
