A viral video of a woman holding a knife while confronting and challenging a street food vendor in Likhit 7 community, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province, has circulated widely online. The footage shows a man in black arriving on a motorcycle and appearing to verbally assault the woman, prompting her to turn the knife toward him in self-defense, resulting in a physical fight that left his motorcycle overturned. Seconds later, two unidentified motorcyclists struck the woman, knocking her down before a larger brawl erupted. The incident sparked significant public criticism on social media, though the cause remained unclear.
On April 26, 2569, police from Bang Phli station questioned both parties involved. Sudthannya, 30, the woman in the video, explained that the dispute originated from a previous police search of the other party's home. She had misunderstood that she was responsible for tipping off police. On the day of the search, she was not home and was away reporting to probation services. Subsequently, the other party insulted and defamed her, which she found intolerable. Intending to resolve the matter, she went to the vendor's shop with a friend on a red motorcycle. During their heated verbal exchange, the vendor's husband arrived and became aggressive, appearing to grab a bottle to hit her. She defended herself, at which point the husband's brother arrived on a motorcycle and struck her, causing her to fall. He then beat her with a shovel and motorcycle helmet.
After the police arrived and questioned both parties, they mediated a settlement. Both sides agreed to cease speaking negatively about each other, clarified their misunderstanding, and decided to move forward with their separate lives without further conflict. The other party declined to comment to the media.
