The songthaew driver, 48-year-old Vishnu, reported that he had been transporting relatives from Chiang Rai district since morning to participate in the Manora Festival celebration at Wat Tha Khae. After the event, while traveling back on a secondary route and approaching the intersection, he slowed down to exit the side street when the sedan suddenly crashed into his vehicle with considerable impact.
