Becky Rebecca Patricia Armstrong has responded to mixed feedback from her role as Nanno in the series Girl From Nowhere The Reset, distinguishing between constructive criticism and personal attacks on her appearance. While she accepts acting critiques, she expressed difficulty with comments targeting her looks, which she says are irrelevant to her performance.

During a L'Oreal Paris product launch event where she serves as brand ambassador, Becky opened up about the backlash. "Feedback comes in many forms—some positive, some constructive," she stated. "I accept it all as I've said from the beginning. This role is challenging because my character Nanno and I are completely different, so people are often surprised by who I really am."

She acknowledged receiving criticism about her performance capability, admitting she felt discouraged initially but reminded herself that as an actress, she must embrace every role fully. However, she drew a clear boundary regarding appearance-based comments. "What I struggle with is criticism about my appearance because it has nothing to do with acting. I've spent a long time accepting my own imperfections, and while I'm not perfect, I love myself. That's what matters."

Becky emphasized that this isn't her first experience with negative feedback, but she views it as personal growth. She credited her fanbase for offering genuine, constructive commentary rather than blind praise. "My fans will point out what works and what doesn't work with sincerity. They might gently suggest improvements, but they're never harsh."

When asked what feedback she most wants to act on, Becky highlighted her Thai language development. "It's probably my Thai language skills. I only learned Thai five years ago, so I'm still improving. Every day I practice speaking Thai, even though my family speaks English at home. If I rate myself out of ten, I'd say I'm at a seven."

She acknowledged that language remains a barrier at times, as she sometimes translates English to Thai mentally before responding. "I still mix Thai and English daily, and sometimes I can't recall Thai words quickly enough. But this doesn't scare me—it just motivates me to keep improving."

On April 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. outside the Phatthalung Provincial Hall, more than 20 local government administrators from Electoral District 2, led by Worajit Saiyakaew, submitted a letter to Provincial Governor Suchin Wajakit requesting expedited legal action and safety protection for Thanin Thongpool, Tambon Subdistrict Mayor of Phanangthung in Khuankhun District, Phatthalung Province, who was violently assaulted.

The incident occurred on April 23 during a funeral service at Dharmathaew Temple in Phanangthung Tambon, Khuankhun District. The accused is a former Ruam Thai Chart Charoen Party MP from Baan Yai, along with four associates who participated in the attack. Thanin filed a police report at Thalenoi Police Station the same day.

Thanin recounted that during the funeral, while mourners were placing sandalwood flowers, the former MP pulled him aside to discuss a grievance over his past campaign support for an opposing candidate. The former MP then struck him forcefully on the shoulder and head, leading to a physical altercation. When Thanin fought back, the former MP's four associates joined in the attack, with one person drawing a firearm. Fortunately, other funeral attendees intervened and prevented further violence.

Thanin filed charges at Thalenoi Police Station and received medical examination at Khuankhun Hospital, where bruises on his face were documented. He expressed that he would not have attended had he known the former MP would be presiding, and now fears for his safety and family due to the suspect's influence and large network of supporters. He worries future political activities will require heightened security precautions and is anxious that the case may be quietly dismissed like many previous incidents.

"This incident occurred before many witnesses, yet the perpetrator showed no fear of legal consequences and has barely received media attention," Thanin stated. "If left unaddressed, this violence could escalate to harm others in the future."

Provincial Governor Suchin Wajakit stated that he will send an official letter to police requesting careful investigation of the case with fair treatment for both parties.

BANGKOK — Thailand is considering introducing a fee on Thai nationals travelling abroad, or an "exit fee", as part of a plan to generate funding to support domestic tourism promotion, Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul said.

Surasak said the proposal is a joint policy initiative with the Ministry of Finance and is aimed at strengthening Thailand's "Thai travel within Thailand" campaign by creating a dedicated funding mechanism for domestic tourism programmes.

He said, for example, a fee of 1,000 baht per outbound traveller could generate around 10 billion baht annually, based on an estimated 10 million outbound trips by Thai nationals each year.

The revenue could then be used to subsidise domestic travel, such as providing 1,000-baht support per trip for Thai travellers within the country, or other incentive schemes depending on suitability.

"This type of programme will help strengthen the long-term sustainability of Thailand's tourism sector without relying on annual government budgets," Surasak said, adding that it would also allow for clearer long-term planning.

He said the ministry is currently preparing short-term domestic stimulus measures to offset a slowdown in international tourism caused by geopolitical tensions, including conflicts in the Middle East.

The ministry is reviewing previously successful domestic tourism schemes for possible revival, such as the "We Travel Together" co-payment programme and other travel subsidy initiatives, including bus travel promotions, tax incentives and measures to boost secondary-city tourism.

Lieutenant General Supol Chanthaphuang, deputy president of the Thailand Water Sports Association, chaired the 2568 annual general meeting at The Grand Fourwings Convention Hotel on April 27. The meeting reviewed the annual budget showing revenues of 85,874,604.95 baht and expenses of 95,935,081.09 baht, with expenses exceeding revenues by 10,060,476.14 baht. The association also approved changes to its emblem.

Following the meeting, Secretary-General Thanavichya Thossakul reported that the association maintained continuous operations throughout 2568, with key initiatives including hosting water sports events and preparing athletes for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand. The association achieved impressive results, earning 11 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals. Preparations for various tournaments in 2569 are underway, and the association has been sending coaches, referees, and officials for training and to officiate competitions for the World Aquatics Federation and Asian Aquatics Federation.

Thanavichya discussed preparations for Thailand's water sports team competing at the 20th Asian Games in Japan from September 19 to October 4, including swimming, water polo, diving, and synchronized swimming. After the 33rd Southeast Asian Games last year, the association met with all sports with Asian Games quotas to plan jointly. Training camps began in March, with swimmers who won Southeast Asian Games gold medals preparing abroad, divers training in China, and synchronized swimmers training in Italy. The water polo team is inviting foreign teams from Russia, Hungary, and China to train at Chumphol Satrabhaya Naval School in Sattahip. The water polo team's goal is for the women's team to win a bronze medal at the Asian Games for the first time in history, as they finished fourth four years ago.
