Investigation Unit Awards Presented: Metropolitan Police Bureau 2 Ranks First in Outstanding Warrant Arrests
Metropolitan Police Bureau 2 took top honors in a crime suppression awards ceremony recognizing outstanding warrant arrests and firearms seizures during a 12-day campaign targeting firearm offenses and wanted fugitives across Bangkok.
Awards were presented at 1:00 PM on May 11, 2026, at Metropolitan Police Bureau headquarters, with Police General Siam Boonsombun presiding alongside deputy commanders Pallop Aremha and Attaporn Songsiri Prieda. The awards recognized outstanding performance in a 12-day crime suppression campaign from March 25 to April 5, targeting firearm-related offenses and the apprehension of wanted fugitives, particularly in cases approaching statute of limitations. Twenty-four awards were presented across multiple categories.

Police General Siam expressed satisfaction with presiding over the awards ceremony and noted the exceptional results achieved during the campaign period, which significantly reduced crime in Bangkok through the unified cooperation of all personnel. He urged all units to maintain their established standards. He also mentioned a morning meeting with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul regarding World Bank discussions held at Sirikit Convention Center with 15,000 attendees, where the Prime Minister emphasized that Bangkok must remain crime-free and urged coordinated security efforts during the approaching period.
