Just Political Theater! Siripong Dismisses 'Thaeng' as Opposition Stretches Blue Regime Narrative, Insists Bhumjaithai Unharmed
Bhumjaithai's deputy leader Siripong dismissed opposition claims of a "blue regime" controlling Thailand as political theater, arguing the party's electoral mandate protects it from such accusations.
On May 26, 2569 at Government House, Siripong Angkaskulkiat, Transport Minister and Deputy Leader of Bhumjaithai Party (BT), responded to Democrat Party leader Nattapong Ruangpanyawuti's claims that Thai politics operates under a blue regime. Siripong dismissed such rhetoric as routine opposition tactics, characterizing it as political theater rather than substantive criticism. He argued that opposition parties naturally must oppose and seek dramatic talking points, which he views as standard ideological competition.
When asked whether accusations of a blue regime dominating the country could damage Bhumjaithai, Siripong expressed no concern, noting that the party's legitimacy derives from electoral victory where voters chose them first. He suggested the opposition's interpretation of events is predictable—claiming the people chose them if they win, or alleging fraud if they lose.
Siripong further argued the opposition is overreaching by connecting too many disparate issues into a cohesive narrative. He dismissed the blue regime framing as lacking substance, noting such debate has occurred previously without destabilizing the government. He concluded that whether opposition leaders raise these points or not is ultimately irrelevant to government stability.
