Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. Leaves Al Nassr to Return to Europe - Major Clubs Eye Young Star

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. has decided to leave Al Nassr and return to Europe to pursue his football career away from his father's shadow, with major European clubs reportedly interested in signing the 16-year-old talent. The young Ronaldo, who has impressed with 58 goals in 23 games for Juventus's U-9 team and 56 goals in 27 matches for Al Nassr's U-15 side, has attracted attention from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and other top clubs. The decision has caused his father concern over the intense media scrutiny the teenager may face in Europe.

6 May Khaosod

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. wants to carve out his own identity away from his father's shadow at Al Nassr, focusing on building his reputation in Europe. The 41-year-old Ronaldo has lost the opportunity to play alongside his son at Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League after his 16-year-old son expressed his desire to leave the oil-rich nation's club to test his skills in academies of top-tier European teams. Reports indicate that Ronaldo Jr. has attracted interest from major clubs including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and Sporting Lisbon—his father's former club.

Ronaldo Jr. has drawn attention through his impressive goal-scoring record: 58 goals in 23 appearances for Juventus's U-9 team and 56 goals in 27 matches for Al Nassr's U-15 squad. He has also been selected for Portugal's U-17 national team. However, this decision has caused his father considerable concern, as the young player may face intense media pressure in Europe.

On May 6, 2025, Nitthat Nunsong, director of the Regional Conservation Area Office 3 in Phetchaburi, received a report from Surasakdi Anumethanglor, director of the Phetchaburi Wildlife Conservation Division, along with Itthiphon Changruang, head of the wildlife enforcement unit, and veterinarian Anurak Skulpong. Officers from multiple agencies including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, wildlife conservation promotion staff, prevention and suppression units, Phetchaburi police, and the narcotics suppression unit coordinated to inspect a suspicious gray Toyota truck in Don Khun Huai subdistrict, Cha-Am district, Phetchaburi province.

The search of the truck bed revealed numerous protected animals in boxes, including 13 Moluccan cockatoos, 8 cuscuses, 6 tree kangaroos, 13 echidnas, 1 sugar glider, and 100 snakes of unidentified species. The driver, 49-year-old Songob (surname withheld) from Satun, was taken into custody.

Authorities initially charged him with "possessing protected wildlife without permission" under Section 19 of the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act B.E. 2562. The suspect and seized animals were handed over to Cha-Am police station for legal proceedings, with plans to expand the investigation to the wider trafficking network and conduct further species identification of the protected and CITES-listed animals.

A British woman has disappeared after allegedly trashing a Chiang Mai condominium, leaving behind garbage, damaged furniture and an estimated 500,000 baht in repairs. Police are seeking to question her and recover damages from the May disco

6 May Khaosod

A British woman has vanished after allegedly leaving a rented condominium in Chiang Mai filled with rubbish and severe damage, with repair costs estimated at 500,000 baht ($15,500).

The incident was reported to police on May 6 by Chantanee Wiwechawin, 41, a housekeeper responsible for overseeing a condominium in Suthep subdistrict, Muang district, Chiang Mai.

She told investigators that the British tenant, believed to be around 35 years old, had signed a six-month lease for the unit at 25,000 baht ($780) per month, beginning on October 16, 2025.

According to Chantanee, suspicions arose in March after a foul smell began coming from the room and the tenant could no longer be contacted. Using a spare key, she entered the condominium and was shocked by what she found.

The room was reportedly strewn with garbage, rotting waste, underwear and clothes. Paint had also been smeared across the walls.

Furniture including the bed and sofa was found damaged, dirty and deteriorated, while the overall condition of the room was described as severely damaged.

A technician later inspected the property and estimated restoration costs could reach around 500,000 baht. A television set was also reported missing and is believed to have been stolen.

Chantanee said she wanted to warn condominium owners and landlords to regularly inspect rental properties, particularly those rented to foreign tourists.

"In the past, we mostly saw news about Thai tenants causing problems and leaving rooms dirty, but this time it was a foreigner. I thought she would be clean and well-mannered, but it turned out to be unbelievably filthy," she said.

Police at Phu Ping Rajanives station are reportedly preparing to summon the tenant for questioning and to seek compensation for the damages.

Minister Suchati Opens Low-Carbon Future Collaboration Forum, Supporting Private Sector to Elevate Thai Business to Global Standards

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchati Chomklin launched a collaboration forum aimed at transitioning Thailand to a low-carbon economy by fostering partnerships between the government and private sector. The minister emphasized that low-carbon transformation is now a necessity rather than an option for businesses facing climate pressures and stricter global environmental standards. Thai Eastern Group's achievement in producing the world's first carbon-neutral rubber blocks was highlighted as an example of Thailand's potential to lead in sustainable industrial development.

6 May Khaosod

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchati Chomklin presided over the opening of the "Low-Carbon Future" collaboration forum, outlining his vision to drive Thailand toward a tangible low-carbon economy.

The minister stressed the importance of private and public sector collaboration in accelerating product value chain development to address global low-carbon trade challenges, with full backing from the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry. This effort aims to elevate Thailand's competitive capabilities as an international business leader while generating practical employment and income for local communities.

Minister Chomklin noted that businesses currently face mounting pressure from climate change, international trade regulations, and increasingly stringent environmental standards, along with growing expectations for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability. The transition to a low-carbon economy is therefore not merely an "option" but a "necessity" that will determine long-term business sector growth.

"Thailand has tremendous potential to drive the transition to a low-carbon society with government support, building on the acceleration of the Draft Climate Change Act, which will systematically integrate policy mechanisms, technology, finance, and business collaboration to produce concrete results at all levels," Suchati said.

On this occasion, the minister congratulated Thai Eastern Group Holdings PLC for successfully developing the "world's first carbon-neutral rubber blocks," a significant milestone for Thailand's rubber industry on the global stage and a testament to the potential of Thai industrial sectors to achieve international sustainability standards.

He also commended Thai Eastern Bio Power PLC for developing a comprehensive waste management center aligned with the circular economy concept and contributing meaningfully to greenhouse gas emission reduction.

The minister praised business partners across all sectors for continuously advancing low-carbon development and expressed confidence that this forum would mark the beginning of stronger collaboration, leading to tangible progress in elevating Thailand's low-carbon value chain.

"I hope this collaboration succeeds and can lead to sustainable low-carbon economic development for the country," Suchati concluded.

6 May Khaosod

Police are holding a young neighbor who allegedly plotted to lure and kill a taxi driver uncle, claiming it was over 400 baht in unpaid taxi fares. Investigators discovered a eucalyptus wood club stained with blood that was used to beat the victim's face. On May 6, 2025, at 5:30 PM, officers from Chang Yai Police Station in Ayutthaya arrested Narathorn, the suspect accused of murdering 65-year-old Paisuay, a taxi driver. Police escorted him from the interrogation room to recreate the crime scene and search for the weapon he allegedly used to beat Paisuay to death in a rice field about 1 kilometer from Highway 9. Police sealed off the crime scene and brought a pickup truck to simulate the taxi. According to his account, Narathorn had the victim sit in the back seat, then exited, grabbed the wood, and repeatedly struck Paisuay as he got out of the vehicle, leaving him unconscious. He then threw the wood into nearby bushes and fled on foot. Officers discovered a eucalyptus club approximately 1 meter long with bloodstains, which was collected as evidence for DNA testing. Deputy Police Lieutenant General Surawut Sangrungkrueang, commander of Ayutthaya Provincial Police, revealed that after the incident, multiple police units conducted a coordinated investigation. During questioning, the suspect confessed to a dispute with the victim over 400 baht in unpaid taxi fares. They had agreed the victim would give the suspect a mobile phone to have its screen film replaced to settle the debt, but the suspect never completed the work. The victim repeatedly demanded his phone back. On the day of the murder, the suspect lured the victim to the crime scene claiming he would provide money. Police stressed they remain skeptical of the suspect's full account and are conducting deeper investigations. They recovered the victim's mobile phone from the suspect and are tracking other stolen items such as cash and a watch. The suspect has a criminal history with multiple offenses, particularly drug-related cases. Authorities thanked citizens and witnesses for their help, which enabled them to arrest the suspect within 24 hours of discovering the body.

Sixth-Grade Girl Lures Two Classmates to Man for Sexual Abuse, Gives Them 200 Baht for Taxi Home

A sixth-grade girl in Nakhon Thani lured two classmates to a man who sexually assaulted them on April 26, then paid them 200 baht for taxi fare home and threatened silence. Police have yet to arrest the three male perpetrators despite the c

6 May Khaosod

A disturbing case has surfaced involving a sixth-grade student from Nakhon Thani who lured two same-age classmates to a man for sexual assault, paid them 200 baht for taxi fare home, and threatened them into silence. The perpetrators remain free while the mother expresses frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation.

On May 6, 2025, at a press briefing organized by the Sai Mai Must Survive Facebook page, families of two 12-year-old victims—identified as Girl A and Girl B—filed a complaint with Akkhapop Luangprasert and his team after learning that their daughters were lured by a same-grade peer to meet a 30-year-old man who sexually assaulted them in exchange for 200 baht.

According to the victims' account, on April 26, a friend named Tey called to invite them to a friend's house around noon. A 20-year-old motorcycle driver picked them up and they went to Soom Gai Chon. Around 5 p.m., the perpetrators arrived, and instead of being taken home, they were driven to a short-time hotel in the Shinkhset area on Ngamvongvan Road. A room was rented with six people inside: three male perpetrators, Girls A and B, and Tey, who orchestrated the scheme. Two men named Joe and Pha committed the assault while taking turns, while Tey sat on her phone claiming to have her period. After the assault, Joe paid 200 baht for their taxi fare home with a strict warning not to tell anyone, leaving the victims terrified before they eventually disclosed the incident to their parents.

Girl A's mother stated that her daughter asked to play at a friend's house around noon and was picked up by two friends. When she couldn't reach her daughter by 5 p.m., she questioned the friends and searched for her before calling police. Officers who recognized one of the perpetrators made calls, and within an hour, the girl returned home by taxi. The mother expressed concern that police have not yet questioned the perpetrators, and she wants the Sai Mai Must Survive page to follow up on the case. The perpetrators have since contacted seeking forgiveness and attempting to settle the matter, though they failed to show up for a scheduled meeting.

Akkhapop stated he would coordinate with Thung Song Hom Police Station to expedite the investigation, noting that the two victims can serve as witnesses and that arrest warrants don't require waiting for medical examination results. He expressed concern that the perpetrators are still free, suggesting possible police negligence. The mother remains anxious, wanting the case prioritized. Police are expected to issue arrest warrants today and gather evidence to prosecute all involved parties.

Anuthit Vows 400 Billion Baht Loan Will Be Transparent and Traceable, Not a Single Satang Will Go Missing

Prime Minister Anuthit vowed the 400 billion baht emergency loan will be transparent and fully traceable with zero corruption, emphasizing his personal responsibility for every baht spent on energy crisis and public welfare projects.

6 May Khaosod

Prime Minister Anuthit Charnveerakul made a firm commitment on May 6 at Government House that the 400 billion baht emergency loan will be handled transparently and remain fully traceable, with not a single satang going unaccounted for and no corruption involved. He stated that all projects funded through the loan will improve the quality of life for the public.

The Prime Minister announced he has already signed the Emergency Decree granting the Ministry of Finance authority to borrow funds to address the energy crisis and transition the country's energy sector. The decree will be published in the Royal Gazette, and a screening committee will be established to oversee projects, chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. All incoming projects must be screened and comply with the decree's objectives.

Anuthit emphasized his personal responsibility as Prime Minister for every baht of the loan, stating he will closely supervise to prevent misuse or leakage of funds. "I promise that myself and the entire cabinet will vigilantly ensure not a single red satang escapes, not even a small leak, to ensure all funds serve their intended purpose. Everything must be transparent and verifiable, with absolutely no corruption," he said.

When asked about credit rating agency Moody's concerns regarding the loan decree, the Prime Minister explained that the government's real burden is the loan interest, which is very low since Thailand is borrowing in baht only, eliminating any currency exchange risk. He added that the loan will provide liquidity to financial institutions and directly benefit citizens by reducing their cost of living and improving their quality of life, rather than funding long-term infrastructure projects that would take 5-7 years to see results.
