During the ceremony, as the statue was lifted onto the shrine, a young woman participating in the ritual began to sway with tears flowing—villagers recognized this as Phu Pho Phraya Kaew possessing her. Subsequently, Chao Pho Dam Mai Kha Kham, a spirit from nearby Baan Tom Muang shrine, also possessed a 50-year-old woman. On April 27, 2025, Sopho Prachakkrit Saythip, founder of the "Kamphaeng Phet Complaint" Facebook page, visited a riverside noodle shop in Nong Pling subdistrict, Muang district, Kamphaeng Phet province, following a complaint from 60-year-old Ms. Malay (surname withheld). She reported being assaulted by her 70-year-old brother, Chalaeo (surname withheld), and threatened with a gun over a land dispute.

The conflict involves inherited land left by their parents for family use and livelihood. The property was never formally divided among siblings. Chalaeo previously lived there and became a Buddhist monk over 20 years ago. After disrobing and returning home, he suddenly claimed the land belonged to him and cordoned off the area around his sister's noodle shop with rope and wooden stakes.

On April 17, when many customers arrived at the shop, Ms. Malay removed the rope to provide seating. Chalaeo then walked across the street and struck her in the head with a soup ladle, causing bruising and swelling above her left eye. He then brandished a shotgun and threatened, "If anyone cuts this rope, I'll shoot you all dead," terrifying the customers.

Ms. Malay filed a police report at Muang Kamphaeng Phet station, fearing for her safety. She stated that her brother frequently watches her house and has repeatedly threatened violence. She contacted the Facebook page administrator for help.

Her 25-year-old niece, Namthip (surname withheld), who owns the noodle shop, confirmed that after Chalaeo disrobed, he claimed their grandparents gave him the land and cordoned it off. When she removed the rope to accommodate the large number of customers and lack of seating, she was struck with a soup ladle and threatened with gunfire. Customers have been unable to park or sit safely.

On April 27, 2569, Police Lieutenant Colonel Worakrit Paruang, Deputy Investigator at Bang Sao Thong Police Station, disclosed that at 11:15 PM on April 26, they received a report of a pickup truck colliding with a motorcycle on the Bang Plee Industrial Estate Road heading toward Lad Wai, near Nikhom Soi 6, Bang Sao Thong District, Samut Prakan Province. Officers rushed to the scene with rescue personnel from Po Tek Tung Foundation.

At the scene, they found the body of Jakkarin (surname withheld), 29 years old, a son of a Bang Sao Thong Police Station officer, lying on his back. The collision was violent, leaving the motorcyclist unconscious in the middle of the road. He immediately called for help, but the rider was already deceased.

According to the victim's friends and girlfriend, he had gone out to meet friends and was heading back to his room at a three-story residential project when he didn't arrive as expected. His girlfriend called looking for him, and a rescue worker answered the call, informing her of the accident.

Police summoned the pickup truck driver to Bang Sao Thong Police Station for further questioning and charged him with reckless driving causing death. The victim's father confirmed his son had not consumed any alcohol.
