Tragic: 12-Year-Old Myanmar Boy Riding Behind Father on Motorcycle Struck and Killed by 18-Wheel Truck
A 12-year-old Myanmar boy was killed when an 18-wheel truck ran over his head while he was riding behind his father on a motorcycle in Samut Prakan. The accident occurred after the motorcycle swerved to avoid a hand cart pushing against traffic. The boy's father sustained injuries and was hospitalized, while the truck driver remained at the scene for police investigation.
Samut Prakan – Rescue workers responded to a fatal accident on Theprat Road (also known as Bangna-Trat Road), the parallel eastbound lane at kilometer 16 in Bang Chlong Subdistrict, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province, on May 6th. Rescuers discovered the body of a 12-year-old Myanmar boy with severe head trauma from an 18-wheel truck. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, lying face down in a pool of blood.
The boy's father, a 38-year-old Myanmar national, suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital. Witnesses reported that the father and son were riding their motorcycle normally when they encountered a hand cart being pushed against traffic, forcing them to swerve onto the road where they collided with the truck trailing behind them. The truck driver, Montri Maejaroen, 49, remained at the scene approximately 100 meters away from the accident location. Blood and brain tissue were found on the truck's left rear wheel.
The truck driver stated he was driving normally when the motorcycle suddenly swerved in front of him. Despite attempting to avoid the collision, he was unable to prevent the accident. Police Lieutenant Sapat Prakarnpitaksa from Bang Phli Police Station documented the scene and sent the boy's body to the Ramathibodi Institute of Forensic Medicine. The truck driver was brought in for further questioning at the police station regarding the tragic incident.
