Dangerous Dump Truck with Raised Bed Nearly Hits Overpass on Vibhavadi Road; Driver Faces 6 Charges

On May 26, police concluded their investigation into a dangerous incident that occurred on May 10 when a ten-wheeled dump truck with its raised bed nearly struck an overpass on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road near Army Headquarters. The incident was brought to police attention after a TikTok user posted the video, prompting Lieutenant Phuchchong Mautung from the Vibhavadi Rangsit Traffic Control Center to investigate. CCTV footage revealed the truck had loaded soil from Vibhavadi Soi 64 and was transporting it to an area beneath the expressway opposite Army Recreation Club. After identifying the driver, police summoned him to face charges on May 25. The driver received six charges: (1) operating an unsafe or improperly equipped vehicle, (2) transporting goods without paying tax, (3) missing license plates and tax markings, (4) reckless driving, (5) improper lane positioning while driving slowly, and (6) operating a vehicle with incomplete equipment or parts. The total fine imposed was 4,800 baht. Police thanked the public for reporting the incident and reminded truck operators and drivers to regularly maintain their vehicles to prevent accidents.
