A woman was left traumatized after being secretly filmed in a gas station restroom in Bangkok's Sathorn district, saying she is now too frightened to use public bathrooms alone. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when the 30-year-old coffee shop employee discovered a man holding his phone over the restroom partition to record her. After she screamed for help, nearby people and gas station staff detained the man, who initially denied recording but was found with video footage on his phone clearly showing the victim's face. Police from Bang Pong Pang station took him into custody.
The victim revealed this was the first time she experienced such an incident in her life, and it has severely affected her mental state, making her afraid to enter public restrooms alone. She emphasized that such behavior should never happen to anyone. Regarding the case, the victim disclosed that they have reached a settlement, as she felt compassion for the perpetrator's family, particularly his father, and did not want the matter to escalate or damage the family's reputation.
The perpetrator confessed and expressed remorse, providing 5,000 baht in compensation while police issued an additional 1,000 baht fine. However, the victim noted that although the man showed remorse, it came only after committing the act. She warned the perpetrator and society that such behavior should never be repeated against anyone, as it could result in far more severe consequences if the victim were less restrained. She considers this incident "a very small lesson learned."
