Woman Traumatized After Being Secretly Filmed in Gas Station Restroom in Sathorn Area, Now Afraid to Use Public Bathrooms Alone

A woman in Bangkok's Sathorn area was secretly filmed by a man in a gas station restroom, leaving her severely traumatized and afraid to use public facilities alone. The perpetrator was detained by police and issued a fine of 1,000 baht plus ordered to pay 5,000 baht in compensation after confessing to the crime. The victim has reached a settlement with the suspect but urged society to prevent such incidents from occurring again.

A woman was left traumatized after being secretly filmed in a gas station restroom in Bangkok's Sathorn district, saying she is now too frightened to use public bathrooms alone. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when the 30-year-old coffee shop employee discovered a man holding his phone over the restroom partition to record her. After she screamed for help, nearby people and gas station staff detained the man, who initially denied recording but was found with video footage on his phone clearly showing the victim's face. Police from Bang Pong Pang station took him into custody.

The victim revealed this was the first time she experienced such an incident in her life, and it has severely affected her mental state, making her afraid to enter public restrooms alone. She emphasized that such behavior should never happen to anyone. Regarding the case, the victim disclosed that they have reached a settlement, as she felt compassion for the perpetrator's family, particularly his father, and did not want the matter to escalate or damage the family's reputation.

The perpetrator confessed and expressed remorse, providing 5,000 baht in compensation while police issued an additional 1,000 baht fine. However, the victim noted that although the man showed remorse, it came only after committing the act. She warned the perpetrator and society that such behavior should never be repeated against anyone, as it could result in far more severe consequences if the victim were less restrained. She considers this incident "a very small lesson learned."

Sweden Announces 2026 World Cup Squad Without Erik Kahl, Thai-Swedish Left-back

Sweden announced its 26-player World Cup squad for 2026 on May 12, excluding Thai-Swedish left-back Erik Kahl despite his recent success helping Aarhus GF win Denmark's championship. The snub may push Kahl to choose to represent Thailand instead, with negotiations reportedly already 90 percent complete according to the Football Association of Thailand president.

6d ago Khaosod

Sweden has unveiled its 26-player roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but Thai-Swedish left-back Erik Kahl is notably absent from the squad. His omission could prompt the player to reconsider pledging his international allegiance to Thailand's national team. Sweden has qualified as one of Europe's representatives for the final tournament in 2026, which will be hosted across three countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. On May 12, Sweden officially released its 26-player World Cup squad, and notably, Erik Kahl, the Thai-Swedish left-back, was not included despite delivering outstanding performances that helped Aarhus GF win Denmark's top-flight championship for the first time in 40 years. This exclusion from the World Cup may prompt Erik Kahl to make the decision to play for Thailand's national team instead. Previously, Nualphran Lamsam, the president of the Football Association of Thailand, stated that negotiations with Kahl had progressed over 90 percent.

Two More Victims of Fraudulent Spiritual Healer Emerge: 25-Year-Old Man Sought Treatment for Depression Before Sexual Assault, Claims It Was Part of Treatment

Two more victims have accused a fraudulent spiritual healer of sexual assault, including a 25-year-old man from Nakhon Sawan who sought depression treatment before being allegedly abused, though both cases have expired under statute of limi

6d ago Khaosod

Two additional victims have come forward in the case against a fraudulent spiritual healer accused of sexual assault. Police Major Ekasit Panseeta, commander of Subdistrict 4 Police Station, disclosed the case developments on May 12. Following a previous report, an 18-year-old victim filed an additional complaint regarding an incident that occurred when he was 17, describing inappropriate sexual touching. However, because he failed to report it within three months, the case has expired under statute of limitations, though investigators documented his statement as a witness.

Major Ekasit further reported that today a 25-year-old man from Nakhon Sawan province filed a complaint about his experience. The incident occurred when the victim was 20 and suffering from depression. Believing the spiritual healer could cure his condition, he sought treatment but was instead allegedly sexually assaulted through inappropriate touching and inappropriate comments. The victim did not immediately report it because he believed it was part of the treatment process and did not realize it was assault. He came forward after seeing news coverage of other cases.

The second victim experienced similar treatment and was also subjected to indecent assault. Due to the three-month reporting deadline not being met, this case has also expired under statute of limitations, and investigators documented his statement as a witness. Regarding the criminal proceedings against the spiritual healer, authorities are currently reviewing evidence and materials seized from the suspect's residence in Lamphun province to determine what can be used in the case. Detailed examination of all evidence is ongoing before further legal action is taken.

Buriram United Manager Mark Jackson Confident of Advancing Past Johor Darul Ta'zim to AFC Club Championship Final

Buriram United manager Mark Jackson expressed confidence before the AFC Club Championship semi-final second leg against Johor Darul Ta'zim on May 13, vowing to advance to the final. Jackson emphasized the importance of focus, psychological preparation, and tactical execution against the Malaysian side, while captain Kenneth Dugal highlighted the team's unbeaten record against Johor over five meetings. Both leaders called for strong fan support at Buriram Stadium as the Thai club seeks to reach the championship decider.

6d ago Khaosod

Buriram United's head coach Mark Jackson has announced his determination to lead the Thai league representatives past Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta'zim in the 2025-26 AFC Club Championship (SHOPEE CUP) semi-final second leg. The match is scheduled for May 13 at 7:00 PM at Buriram Stadium. During a press conference on May 12, Jackson and team captain Kenneth Dugal addressed the media about their preparation.

Mark Jackson stated: "We want to secure a victory tomorrow, but like every match at this high level of competition, it will always be a difficult game. We performed well in the first leg, but we won't underestimate our opponents. We must focus and deliver an even better performance."

"I'm satisfied with our first-leg performance, but we need to focus and prepare the team well, which is very important. We have our own team preparation methodology, and consistency will help us. We must analyze each player's performance on the opposing team. Johor Darul Ta'zim is a good team, but our approach won't change—we focus on reaching our goal."

"We've discussed the psychological aspect of playing, which is crucial at this level of football. It depends on how we prepare the team, including technique, tactics, and psychology. We try to control everything in our preparation. I believe psychology is very important. We have never lost to anyone in this SHOPEE CUP tournament. With Johor coming to our home, it will be a difficult task, just as it was when we visited their home."

When asked about the pressure of leading the team to the final, Jackson responded: "For a great club like Buriram United, there are already high expectations. As a coach and players, everyone wants to win every match. I'm not afraid—we'll turn this into excitement for such a big game. Of course, a loss would be disappointing, especially in a semi-final. If we lose, it would be a sad feeling. I'm ready to face the pressure before the fans, preparing the team and players well for tomorrow's match."

Team captain Kenneth Dugal stated: "Tomorrow is an important match. We've prepared well and have shown excellent performances in recent games, which gives us confidence. Playing at home and in front of our fans boosts our belief that we'll advance to the final."

"Over the past two seasons, we've met them five times, and they haven't beaten us. I'll try to maintain this record and won't be careless. We'll do our duty to reach the final. Tomorrow, I want to ask the fans to come and cheer for us in large numbers. We'll celebrate together on this field."

Police Raid Luxury Pattaya Home, Arrest 3 Chinese Nationals Operating Illegal 'Zombie' E-Cigarette Factory

Police arrested three Chinese nationals operating an illegal e-cigarette factory from a Pattaya mansion, seizing chemicals and equipment used to produce counterfeit "zombie" vapes laced with banned acetamide.

6d ago Khaosod

On May 12, 2025, police commanders ordered an operation that resulted in the arrest of Tang Suai (33), Paolo Lee (30), and Chen Jiajun (25), all Chinese nationals, at a residential address on Nong Kra-bork Road in Pattaya, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri Province. They face charges of manufacturing and possessing acetamide (a Class 2 controlled substance) without authorization for commercial purposes and distribution to the public, as well as working without proper authorization as foreign nationals.

Officers seized extensive quantities of chemicals and manufacturing equipment, including Solvay Interrox ST 50 (2 drums), blue chemical drums (81), pip chemical drums (74), white chemical powder (10 trays and 1 bag), scales, sealing machines, sodium bicarbonate (4 sacks), pre-filled e-cigarette pod packaging (2,700 units), production machinery (3 units), white storage drums (3), and additional chemical drums and powder. The two-story, gated residence contained chemical supplies and manufacturing equipment hidden throughout both floors, with evidence suggesting preparations to pack these substances into "zombie" e-cigarettes for sale.

After forensic testing confirmed the substances as acetamide, a critical component in counterfeit zombie e-cigarettes, all materials were seized as evidence. All three suspects denied the charges and were detained pending further investigation by the prosecution.

Jose Mourinho is in advanced negotiations to return as Real Madrid's head coach, 13 years after his first stint with the club. The Portuguese manager is currently the only candidate the club is discussing the position with, set to replace Alvaro Arbelauw who took over in January. Mourinho, who recently signed with Benfica, previously managed Real Madrid from 2010-2013.

6d ago Khaosod

BBC reports that Jose Mourinho is in final negotiations to become Real Madrid's new head coach, returning to the role he held 13 years ago. Mourinho is the clear frontrunner and currently the only candidate the club is negotiating with for the position. He would replace current head coach Alvaro Arbelauw, who only took the job this past January following Xabi Alonso's departure. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez began considering the possibility of Mourinho's return just two days after Alonso left the club, initiating preliminary talks with the Portuguese coach's representatives. Currently, Mourinho serves as manager of Benfica, having signed a two-year contract in September 2025. When interviewed yesterday (May 11), he declined to discuss his future, stating: "I have a match against Estoril, and from Monday onwards, I'll be able to answer questions about my future as a coach and Benfica's future." Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, winning La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.

Kindhearted Woman Volunteers to Drive Neighbor Facing Blindness to Hospital, Living on Elderly Mother's Pension

A compassionate neighbor volunteered to drive 51-year-old Sommai Chanpromma to the hospital after learning he was facing near-total blindness and lacked transportation. Sommai, who lives in extreme poverty and survives on his elderly mother's pension, was diagnosed with diabetes affecting both eyes, high blood pressure, and heart disease that requires urgent treatment. His doctor warned that without immediate medical intervention, he risked complete blindness and life-threatening complications.

6d ago Khaosod

A kindhearted woman volunteered to drive her neighbor, a seriously ill man with severe vision loss, to Gobinburi Hospital after learning he had no money or transportation. The patient, 51-year-old Sommai Chanpromma from Yan Ri District in Prachuap Khiri Khan, lives in a ramshackle wooden shelter next to his 80-year-old mother's home. Medical tests revealed he suffers from diabetes affecting both eyes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and an enlarged heart. Doctors urgently warned that without immediate treatment at Gobinburi Hospital, he risked complete blindness and life-threatening complications. However, his extreme poverty has forced him to rely on sharing his mother's elderly pension for daily survival. Though his family managed to scrape together 200 baht for transportation costs, he had no vehicle to reach the hospital. "My left eye is completely blind now, and my right eye is so blurry I can barely see," Sommai said, his voice trembling. "If this kind person hadn't brought me, I wouldn't have come to see the doctor because no one at home has a vehicle. I'm so grateful she took pity on me and brought me to use my gold card benefits today." His neighbor, Lakkhana Sinayakong, revealed she had watched this family struggle for years—a household plagued by illness and severe poverty. She noted that at the beginning of 2025, Sommai could still ride a motorcycle to see a doctor, but once his vision failed, he stopped seeking treatment. Moved by his situation and fearing his condition would worsen, she decided to volunteer to drive him for his medical appointment. Gobinburi Hospital has since issued a referral for Sommai to receive specialized treatment at Chaophraya Aphaiphubhet Hospital for urgent care of his diabetic eye condition and heart disease.

Police Arrest Poipet Call Center Gang Member Fleeing to Thailand Before Returning to Cambodia

Thai police arrested a 35-year-old gang member in Bangkok who was fleeing to Cambodia after operating a transnational call center scam that impersonated police to extort victims since mid-2024.

6d ago Khaosod

On May 12, 2026, Deputy Police Commissioner Chanannat Saratwalpaet ordered officers including Phanuphát Kittiphan and Phrasek Chaowsan to apprehend Amorn Thep, 35, based on a warrant from the Bangkok South Criminal Court. He faces charges of participating in a transnational organized crime ring, extortion, fraud through impersonation, inputting false data into computer systems, and forging official documents. The arrest was made in Chatuchak district, Bangkok, on May 11 following an investigation that began in mid-2024 when victims reported being threatened by scammers posing as police through phone and video calls.

The gang operated in three specialized cells: account holders, call operators, and money laundering specialists. The investigation revealed multiple accomplices, some of whom fled back to Cambodia. Intelligence indicated that Thep had re-entered Thailand in early May and was preparing to return to Cambodia when officers tracked and arrested him. During questioning, Thep admitted he was initially deceived into serving as a money mule before joining the operation, where he posed as a police officer during intimidating video calls to coerce victims into sending money.
