Phol Peer Launches 'Thais Helping Thais' Program with Affordable Goods to Ease Public Hardship
Deputy Interior Minister Phol Peer launched the 'Thais Helping Thais' program in Nakhon Ratchasima, offering affordable goods through weekly booths at district offices to ease the public's cost-of-living burden amid rising prices.
Deputy Interior Minister Phol Peer Suwannachuay visited Chakarat District in Nakhon Ratchasima Province to inspect government implementation and deliver ministerial directives. The initiative, developed in collaboration between the Commerce Ministry and the Department of Local Administration, officially launched the 'Thais Helping Thais' program to provide affordable goods to residents. Booths will operate every Friday at district offices, with mobile vendors bringing low-priced products to communities.
Phol Peer acknowledged that economic challenges—including rising product and energy prices—are the government's primary concern, and pledged continuous cost-reduction measures for all citizens. He emphasized the importance of maintaining public order and cracking down on illegal activities including grey market schemes, illegal gambling, drug trafficking, and pollution-causing burning that creates PM 2.5 smog. The government will implement strict measures against violators and negligent officials, as air pollution remediation places ongoing financial burdens on the state.
The program aims to stimulate grassroots economic recovery by providing local entrepreneurs, community enterprises, and businesses with channels to sell local products and consumer goods below market prices. This initiative promotes money circulation at the community level, reduces household expenses, generates income for producers, and effectively alleviates the public's cost-of-living burden sustainably.
