Four men found dead after entering old well in palm plantation in Phang Nga

Four men died after entering an old water well to perform cleaning work at a palm plantation in Kuraburi district, Phang Nga province. Authorities believe the victims suffocated due to oxygen deprivation in the confined space before losing consciousness and drowning. Rescue teams eventually recovered all four bodies, with the deceased ranging in age from 34 to 51 years old.

PHANG NGA — Four men have been found dead after entering an old water well to clean it inside a palm plantation in Kuraburi district, with authorities initially suspecting suffocation due to a lack of oxygen.

Rescue workers were called to a shallow well in a palm plantation in Village 11, Ban Saeng Tham, Khura subdistrict, after reports that several people had died inside the approximately six-metre-deep structure on 26 April 2026.

According to initial reports, the victims had entered the well to carry out cleaning work before reportedly losing consciousness and drowning. Authorities believe the deaths were caused by oxygen deprivation, as the confined space inside the well had limited airflow.

Rescue teams were initially unable to retrieve the bodies due to the narrow structure and low oxygen levels inside the well. Officials from the Phang Nga Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office were later deployed with specialised equipment to assist the operation.

All four bodies were eventually recovered. The deceased were identified as men aged between 34 and 51.

Amorntep Preekham, acting chief of the Phang Nga Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, said the operation involved coordination among multiple agencies. He said initial assessments suggest the victims likely died from suffocation inside the well, adding that a detailed investigation will be carried out.

Woman Shares Horrifying Tale of Fish Bone Stuck in Throat for 11 Days—Thought It Moved Down, Then It Suddenly Pierce Through Her Neck

A Thai woman experienced an extraordinary medical incident when a fish bone she believed had passed through her throat for 11 days suddenly pierced through the skin on her neck behind her ear. After consulting three doctors who assured her the bone was no longer present due to her lack of throat pain while eating, the sharp fish bone unexpectedly protruded from her skin, which she then successfully removed herself. The woman expressed relief that the bone exited externally rather than traveling toward her brain.

26 Apr Khaosod

A Facebook user named Rungravee Chaiwirattikul has shared a cautionary account of a fish bone that became lodged in her throat starting April 14. She consulted three doctors who all reassured her the bone had likely already passed, which she initially believed since eating caused no pain in her throat. However, she remained puzzled by persistent pain on the outside of her neck behind her ear and daily pressed the area to investigate. By April 24 at 2 a.m., she became convinced it was indeed a fish bone but was afraid to pull it out for fear of damaging blood vessels or nerves.

On the morning of April 25, while washing her face, she felt something prick her hand—the fish bone had pierced through the skin behind her ear. Upon closer inspection, she saw a needle-sharp bone protruding from her skin. After carefully confirming it was the fish bone, she gently pulled it out, and blood rushed out as the bone came free, visible just like in an X-ray image. She noted that fortunately the bone exited through her neck rather than penetrating toward her brain.

26 Apr Khaosod

A special operation by the Department of Administration, led by Ranrongkorn Thipsiri, director of the Administrative Personnel Law Enforcement Operations Center, successfully raided two illegal Hilo gambling dens in Bangkok's Nimit Mai and Bueng Kum police precincts. The operation resulted in the arrest of over 100 male and female gamblers and the seizure of assets valued in the millions of baht.

On April 26, 2026, Metropolitan Police Commander Siam Bunsawm revealed that he has ordered Prasong Anmani, commander of Region 3 Police, and Kampanat Arunkirirojanachai, commander of Region 4 Police, to establish fact-finding committees to investigate whether officials in those areas were negligent or failed to suppress the gambling operations. If evidence shows they failed to enforce laws, disciplinary action will be considered. Accomplices will be handled through formal procedures by their respective regional police committees.

The police chief has emphasized that subordinates must intensively crack down on illegal gambling dens without leniency. Officials suspect the gambling operations may have exploited the Songkran holiday period when police were occupied with festival duties. The Metropolitan Police has ordered intelligence units to investigate complaints from the public and will take decisive legal action against any further illegal gambling operations discovered in the area.

Young Nurse Alarmed by Food Delivery Rider Who Refuses to Leave, Asks to Visit Room to See Cat

A 24-year-old nurse in Udon Thani reported a food delivery rider who refused to leave her dormitory and insisted on visiting her room, claiming he wanted to see her cat, prompting police to launch an investigation.

26 Apr Khaosod

At 1:00 PM on April 26, 2569, Deputy Superintendent Sathaporn Sawadee of Muang Udon Thani Police Station received a report from Radio Center 191 about a young woman seeking help after ordering food through an app. When the delivery rider arrived with the food, he refused to leave and insisted on going up to her room to see her cat, causing her to fear for her safety. The incident occurred at a three-story dormitory in Udon Thani municipality. Police found Ms. A (pseudonym), a 24-year-old nurse at a state hospital in Udon Thani province, in a state of shock and fear. CCTV footage and chat messages were collected as evidence.

When the delivery rider, identified later as Theeraphat (surname withheld), learned that the nurse had called police, he fled on his motorcycle. Police contacted him by phone asking him to return for questioning about his intentions in wanting to visit the room, but he claimed he was unavailable.

During the initial investigation, the nurse explained that she had ordered dried Thai noodles for 105 baht around noon through the app and paid via banking app. She instructed the rider to leave the food at the stairs below the dormitory. The rider then messaged asking for her Line ID, saying he wanted to chat. She asked what he needed it for, and he said he wanted to talk. She then asked for his phone number instead.

The rider provided his number, but when she didn't respond, he sent another message saying he was still at the dormitory and asked which room he should deliver to, saying he wanted to see the cat in her room. Since the nurse doesn't own a cat, she replied that her boyfriend would come down to get the food and that he should leave. The rider responded with an unclear message, prompting her to go downstairs where she saw him still sitting on his motorcycle. Frightened, she immediately ran back upstairs and called police for help.

The nurse said she was afraid to eat the food, worried that something might have been put in it. She had never seen this rider before and it was his first delivery to her. She plans to file a formal complaint after her shift ends and wants police to question the rider about his intentions. CCTV and chat messages will serve as evidence for her safety and peace of mind.

A Foreign Man's Rampage at a Phuket Hot Pot Restaurant Leads to Confrontation with Manager and Police Custody

On April 26, the incident went viral online when Facebook user Sirinthip Phoosuwan shared video footage from a hot pot restaurant in Patong Subdistrict, Kathu District, Phuket. The video shows a man believed to be Indian wearing a black shirt repeatedly entering and leaving the restaurant before assaulting and disturbing patrons inside.

A man in a white shirt, apparently the restaurant manager, stepped in to stop the disturbance and struck the Indian man, causing him to cry out loudly while customers and staff looked on in shock. The restaurant contacted Patong Police, who arrived to investigate and took the man into custody at his hotel to calm him down. The poster remarked: "Dignity cannot be compromised! I was eating spicy food—I would've felt terrible not pulling out my phone to record," alongside hashtags #PatongPhuket #Patong #Phuket.

According to the poster's account, the Indian man initially entered asking nearby diners "Open?" before repeatedly going in and out, raising suspicion. At one point, he attacked the man in the white shirt, presumably the manager, leading to the confrontation captured in the video.

The poster acknowledged not witnessing the entire incident clearly, as he was watching a movie and only caught portions of it. Some moments were recorded only in audio, particularly when police arrived and details of the incident were being recounted. Police are currently investigating the facts and proceeding with legal action.
