Vietnamese Woman Accuses Relative of 'Copying' Every Detail of Her Wedding, Denounces Lack of Respect for Her Effort
A Vietnamese bride accused a relative of copying nearly every detail of her meticulously planned wedding, then blocked her family on social media despite their extensive help with the event.
A Vietnamese woman has sparked heated debate online after posting about a relative who allegedly copied nearly every aspect of her wedding—from the theme and dress to the ceremony sequence. The bride explained that her wedding was meticulously planned over six months with her husband, with every detail from the gown to the floral arrangements carefully designed to reflect their identities. "My wedding is something we both thoughtfully planned and prepared for throughout six months—from the dress, bouquet, ceremony sequence, to the venue decoration concept. Everything reflects who we are," she stated. However, when attending her relative's wedding, she felt as though she was reliving her own ceremony, as the decorations, stage setup, flower arrangements, and even both wedding dresses bore striking similarities to hers. She decided to post comparison photos on social media to communicate her feelings. Initially, she wasn't bothered, thinking her relative simply admired her style and used it as inspiration. What hurt more, however, was what happened after the wedding. Throughout the preparation, her family had helped extensively—her father designed the wedding card and served as master of ceremonies, she provided recommendations for photographers, makeup artists, and dress shops without holding back, and her two sisters actively participated by carrying ceremonial trays and giving blessings. Yet just one day after the wedding ended, she discovered that she and her sisters had been blocked by the relative on both Facebook and Instagram. The relative also told other family members that they had been "bullying" and "harassing" her, which is why she had to block them for protection. The bride views this as more than just plagiarism—it's about disrespecting someone's effort and intention, especially when her family had been so helpful. "Stealing someone's time, energy, and hard work, then using others' help to make yourself look good might seem easy, but morality, respect, and gratitude cannot be copied," she wrote.
