On May 23, 2569, a joyful LGBTQ+ wedding ceremony took place between Pranya 'Milk,' a former contract teacher from Kamphaengphet, and Vishnu 'Chat,' a young businessman from Bangkok. The celebration was held at the bride's residence in Thepnakorn Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kamphaengphet, filled with festive betel processions and surrounded by family members, grandparents, relatives, and friends offering enthusiastic congratulations.

The couple shared that this was their happiest day after waiting three full years. They first met in Bangkok through a friend's introduction. The bride revealed her secret devotion: before meeting her groom, she had made a pilgrimage to the Trimurti statue in Bangkok with local Kamphaengphet banana bread, offering three prayers. Two wishes have already been fulfilled, and today's wedding marks the completion of her third wish. She praised her groom as a devoted and caring partner.

The celebration concluded with a reception where the couple thanked all honored guests in gratitude for their borderless love.

Energy Commerce Director Clarifies Charges Against Refineries for Improper Oil Transport Documents, Directs DSI to Investigate Hoarding

Refineries in Surat Thani were charged after inspections found 166 improperly completed oil transport documents, with authorities now investigating potential fuel hoarding operations.

3d ago Khaosod

The Energy Commerce Director is clarifying charges against refineries over improper oil transport documentation and directing the DSI to investigate potential fuel hoarding. All oil traders are being ordered to properly complete transport documents.

On May 23, 2026, Sarawut Kaew-tat-thip, director of the Department of Energy Commerce (DEC), issued a clarification to correct potential misunderstandings regarding recent enforcement actions. The department has intensified oversight of oil traders to ensure compliance with the Fuel Trade Act B.E. 2543, using transport documentation as a primary inspection tool.

During recent inspections of six oil storage facilities in Surat Thani province operated by licensed traders, authorities discovered 166 transport documents with incomplete or incorrect information, constituting violations of the law. All six refineries have been formally charged as the document creators and the cases have been referred to the National Police Office and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) for joint examination.

The document irregularities are considered significant evidence potentially linked to "fuel hoarding operations," which the DSI will lead in investigating and pursuing further. The DEC director has warned all fuel traders that any violations will result in strict legal prosecution.

Taiwan Says "US Has Not Notified Us" of Weapons Sales Changes Following Military Officials' Statement on Temporary Pause

Taiwan says it hasn't been formally notified of any changes to U.S. weapons sales after American officials indicated a temporary pause in arms transfers to prioritize munitions for operations against Iran.

3d ago Khaosod

Taiwan's presidential office stated on May 23 that it has not received any information about changes to U.S. weapons sales following statements by senior American officials indicating a temporary pause in arms sales due to the need for sufficient weaponry for operations against Iran. Taiwan, which China claims as its own territory, is awaiting U.S. approval of a new weapons package valued at up to $14 billion. President Donald Trump said after a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing the previous week that he has not yet decided whether to approve the sale. U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Hong Chao stated on May 21 that "We have done some foreign military sales to them. It's just right now we're doing a pause in order to make sure we have the munitions we need for Epic Fury – which we have plenty," referring to U.S. operations against Iran. He added that "we're just making sure we have everything, but then the foreign military sales will continue when the administration deems necessary." Hong noted that approval for Taiwan weapons sales depends on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Taiwan's presidential spokesperson Karen Koa stated that Taiwan has not received information about any changes to U.S. weapons sales policy and that the U.S. has a legal obligation to provide Taiwan with defensive capabilities. Although China has repeatedly called on the U.S. to halt its weapons sales policy, Taiwan has rejected China's sovereignty claims, emphasizing that only the Taiwanese people can determine their own future.

Nakhon Ratchasima Residents Harvest and Sell Termite Mushrooms at Prices Higher Than Beef and Pork, Earning Thousands Daily

Nakhon Ratchasima residents are harvesting termite mushrooms from forests after May rains, selling premium specimens for 500 baht per kilogram—more than beef or pork—and earning thousands daily through social media sales.

3d ago Khaosod

Since early May, continuous rainfall has prompted Nakhon Ratchasima residents to venture into natural forests to harvest termite mushrooms, a seasonal delicacy known for its tender, delicious texture. The mushrooms help reduce household expenses and provide income when surplus is sold. Residents wake before dawn to forage in the forests, often collecting substantial quantities. Fresh, unopened mushroom caps command 500 baht per kilogram, while older, opened blooms fetch around 300 baht, with prices declining further as quality decreases. Virot Vonsantiea, 46, from Pang Asoek village in Pak Chong district, reported collecting 10 kilograms over two days, generating 3,000-4,000 baht in sales through Facebook. Throughout the forests behind local villages, many residents are simultaneously engaged in mushroom harvesting, capitalizing on the favorable conditions.

Perth Weeratorn Thrilled to Debut in Stage Play, Takes on Challenge Opposite Aem Bhumi with Male Co-star as Acting Idol

Actress Perth Weeratorn makes her stage play debut in "Once Again... The More It Hurts, The More I Remember, The More I Love" opposite actor Aem Bhumi, whom she admires as an acting idol despite discovering he's funny and friendly in person

3d ago Khaosod

Actress Perth Weeratorn Tangkitsuvanich is taking on an exciting new challenge with her first stage play debut in "Once Again... The More It Hurts, The More I Remember, The More I Love," starring opposite skilled actor Aem Bhumi. While she admits feeling slightly nervous because she idolizes Aem's acting abilities after watching him in the film "Youth," she discovered a much funnier side to him in person.

Perth explained her reasons for accepting this challenging project, emphasizing that audiences should expect a completely new character different from all her previous roles. Regarding her stage play experience in "Once Again," playing a friend-zone character opposite Aem Bhumi, she shared: "This story offers a fresh take. Our pair's storyline involves the friend-zone with both comedy and drama. We've already done some rehearsals together, and I have to say Aem has tremendous comedic timing. He might look calm and composed, right? But after watching his work in 'Youth,' he became my acting idol. When I first learned we'd be in a stage play together, I was so excited I was afraid to even talk to him at first. I initially thought he was quiet, mature, and very serious, but in reality, Aem is very friendly. He's hilarious and sometimes so funny that I have to hold back my laughter."

About having such a skilled actor as her scene partner: "At first I was excited and honestly a bit nervous. The more I realized how talented he is, the more I wanted to perform at his level. But I've noticed that his excellence as an actor actually puts me at ease and allows me to relax. It became natural for us to play friends."

On her first stage play experience: "It's very different. In film, you might do a few takes of a scene, but in stage plays, you're delivering the same scene multiple times throughout the show for months. That was initially concerning, but during rehearsals I realized it's a unique opportunity to continuously refine my performance and get deeper into character."

Why did she decide to take on a stage play project? "When I was approached, I didn't hesitate at all because I wanted to try it once in my life. Theater is challenging because if you miss something, you miss it—there's no do-over. I wanted to experience that challenge myself."

She urged fans to support "Once Again," premiering June 15, which tells the story of three couples in three different relationship dynamics. Most importantly, Perth emphasized that the character she plays in this production is completely different from any role she's done before.

Spotify Launches 'Reserved' Concert Ticket Feature for True Fans

Spotify is launching a "Reserved" feature that uses listening data to give genuine fans early access to concert tickets without competing with bots or resellers, rolling out to US Premium users mid-2026.

3d ago Khaosod

Concert ticket hunting has never been easy for fans, who often compete not only with other fans but also with resellers and bot programs that artificially inflate prices and steal seats from genuine supporters. Spotify has launched a new 'Reserved' feature that reserves concert tickets exclusively for true fans without requiring them to compete in a mad dash at ticketing. The Reserved feature works by analyzing streaming data, shares, and engagement with activities on Spotify's platform to identify users eligible to purchase up to two concert tickets per person, with approximately 24 hours to confirm or complete their purchase. Spotify will first test the Reserved feature with Spotify Premium users in the United States starting in mid-2026. Spotify has partnered with ticket vendors and will lock aside two tickets per artist for upcoming concerts, though the specific artists participating in the program have not yet been announced.

The 19-year-old wielding the knife had been released from prison just one month before. On the evening of May 20, the body of 35-year-old Mr. Aung, a Myanmar worker, was discovered clutching his belongings with a critical stab wound to the chest. Authorities rushed him to Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital, but he died shortly after. On May 22, Lt. Col. Sirichai Srichaipanya, superintendent of Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station, announced the arrest of four suspects along with a 14-centimeter pocket knife used in the attack. The suspects include: Pabangkorn "Win" Sayanet, 19, who confessed to wielding the knife; A (alias), 15, who kicked the victim and recorded video of the incident; B (alias), 15, who kicked and stomped the victim multiple times and owned the recording phone; and C (alias), 13, who struck the victim with a motorcycle helmet. Background checks revealed that Pabangkorn had two prior theft convictions and had been released from prison on April 3, 2569. The other three suspects had no criminal records and no outstanding arrest warrants. Preliminary investigation found that the attacker and victim were previously unacquainted but had a verbal altercation near the railroad tracks before the teenagers mobbed and stabbed him fatally. Charges of "joint assault resulting in death" have been filed and the case is proceeding through legal channels.

3d ago Khaosod

The Face Thailand Season 7 is generating significant buzz even before it airs, after prominent show creator Teh Piraphat Galp Jareuik revealed details at the Thailand International LGBTQ+ Film & TV Festival 2026 (TILFF2026) at Kantana Virtual Production Studio. He disclosed that this season marks the first time the show has unveiled mentors in advance, resulting in increased applications from contestants who now have visibility into which team they might join.

Teh confirmed that the season will feature three teams and four mentors, though one mentor remains unconfirmed pending scheduling coordination with global brand partners and broadcast timing. He noted that revealing mentors early is a new strategy for The Face Thailand platform, as previous seasons kept mentors secret until the show aired. The advance announcement has proven beneficial for recruitment, and he revealed the show is currently negotiating with the final mentor.

Regarding the secret mentor's identity, Teh explained the delays stem from complex scheduling requirements. The production must align mentor availability with filming schedules to ensure an end-of-year broadcast, while simultaneously coordinating with global sponsors for synchronized brand launches worldwide. Despite these challenges, he assured that the three previously announced mentors are confirmed, with formal confirmation of the fourth mentor expected soon.

When asked about pressure following previous seasons' success, Teh acknowledged the challenge of competing with their own track record. He expressed gratitude to sponsors, mentors, and contestants who continue to support The Face Thailand platform, adding that the team is committed to delivering an equally strong season despite economic and social headwinds.

A woman driver returning to Prachuap Khiri Khan from Bangkok fell asleep at the wheel, causing her red Mitsubishi sedan to lose control and crash into a roadside gathering, killing two people and injuring three others while destroying seven motorcycles. Deputy Superintendent Pakorn Khun Phao of Muang Prachuap Khiri Khan Police Station reported receiving notification at 1:40 AM of the fatal collision on the Prachuap Khiri Khan-Sri Maha Bodhi Road in Tambon Thagnam, Muang District. Officers including Lieutenant Colonel Suparuk Yoopai, forensic pathologists from Chao Phraya Abhaiphubejra Hospital, and rescue personnel responded to the scene on the four-lane highway near a marble showroom. The red Mitsubishi sedan, driven by Ms. Phakkhawadee (surname withheld), was traveling from Bangkok toward Kabinburi District when the driver dozed off and the vehicle veered into a group of teenagers who had gathered to socialize since evening. The car struck seven parked motorcycles, hit the group of youths sitting along the roadside, and rear-ended another parked sedan. The two fatalities, identified as Kirkkach, 32, and Hasdin, 17, were found trapped under the vehicle, while three others—Nattapong, Kamphon, and Abhisit (surnames withheld)—sustained injuries. Witness Chokechai Potthung, 28, a volunteer rescue worker and relative of one injured person, reported approximately 10-15 people had been gathered at the spot before the car struck them violently. Investigators ordered an autopsy and instructed Ms. Phakkhawadee to undergo blood alcohol testing and detailed interrogation. A CCTV video posted by Chokechai showed the sedan approaching at high speed before losing control and striking the group of youngsters with significant force.
