The race, held on May 24 in Canada as the season's fifth round, saw Antonelli cross the finish line first with a commanding lead of over 10 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton in second place. Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished third, marking his first podium finish of the season, while six cars failed to complete the race, including Williams' Alex Albon and McLaren's Lando Norris, as well as Mercedes' George Russell.
