The government is upgrading 7,500 contract teachers to temporary employee status starting June 2, offering monthly salaries reaching nearly 20,000 baht with enhanced labor protections and benefits.

3d ago Khaosod

The government is moving quickly to upgrade the employment status of 7,500 contract teachers, offering new salaries reaching nearly 20,000 baht per month, with the effective date set for June 2 this year, aimed at strengthening job security and boosting worker morale.

On May 23, 2569, Deputy Government Spokesperson Patthadarasmi Thongsluaykorn announced that the Ministry of Education has launched a policy to improve the quality of life for education sector personnel. The Office of the Basic Education Commission recently approved changing employment arrangements from service contracts to temporary employee status for a total of 7,588 positions within fiscal year 2569.

Patthadarasmi stated that this status change will provide contract teachers and support staff with enhanced benefits and labor law protections. The compensation structure has been adjusted to align with qualifications and job responsibilities. Under the new salary structure, assistant teachers with a five-year bachelor's degree or teaching vocational diploma will receive a maximum monthly salary of 19,120 baht, while those with a four-year bachelor's degree will receive 18,220 baht. Teaching assistants and other support staff will receive approximately 11,000 baht monthly including living allowances.

The spokesperson emphasized that this status upgrade creates stability and motivates education workers, with the government believing that improved quality of life and benefits for teachers will directly enhance learning quality and sustainable development of Thai children.

The Ministry of Education has instructed education area offices and relevant agencies to expedite recruitment, selection, and contract processing to enable all personnel to begin work under the new employment arrangement between June 2 and September 30, 2569, following transparent and fair selection principles.

Warning to Businesses: Submit 2568 Financial Statements by June 2 or Face Penalties

Businesses must submit 2568 financial statements to Thailand's Department of Business Development by June 2, 2569, or face legal penalties and potential deregistration.

3d ago Khaosod

The Department of Business Development has warned entrepreneurs to submit their financial statements for the accounting year ending December 31, 2568, by June 2, 2569, or face legal penalties.

Department Director Poonpong Naiyanaphakon of the Commerce Ministry stated that filing financial statements is a legal obligation for all businesses. Companies with accounting years ending December 31, 2568, must pay close attention to deadlines. Limited companies, public companies, trade associations, and chambers of commerce must obtain shareholder approval for financial statements by April 30, 2569, and submit them to the Department within one month of the meeting. Registered partnerships, joint ventures, and foreign entities have until June 2, 2569, as the final deadline.

To ensure convenience and accuracy, the department encourages all juristic persons to use the DBD e-Filing system, which operates 24/7. Simply log in at efiling.dbd.go.th and select the "Submit Financial Statements" menu. Successful submission will show a "Notification Received" status.

"The Department of Business Development urges the business sector not to wait until the last minute," Poonpong stated. "If document errors occur or the system becomes congested, it could result in serious consequences: (1) legal penalties affecting both the juristic person and individual authorized directors; (2) damage to business reputation and credit, as non-submission will show a 'Default Status' that erodes confidence from investors, partners, and financial institutions, causing missed investment opportunities; and (3) risk of legal summons, and if filing defaults continue for three years, the company will be deregistered as an abandoned business."

He urged businesses with completed financial statements to submit immediately to allow time for corrections if any defects are found. "Don't let delays destroy the business credibility you've built. Act quickly. The department would prefer not to assess penalties or pursue legal action against the business sector," he said.

User guides are available at efiling.dbd.go.th under "System User Manual." For assistance, the Department has prepared a task force team ready to provide urgent guidance through multiple channels: (1) Line Official by adding friend @sxw0580y; (2) Phone numbers 0 2547 4377, 0 2547 4385, and 0 2547 5978.

After Exhausting Sexual Activity! 25-Year-Old Man Experiences Full-Body Pain Peak; Doctors Diagnose Rare Disease

A 25-year-old man was diagnosed with postorgasmic illness syndrome (POIS), a rare condition causing severe full-body pain, weakness, and exhaustion lasting up to a week after sexual climax since age 17. Doctors found vitamin B3 supplements

3d ago Khaosod

A 25-year-old man has endured a debilitating condition since age 17, where approximately one hour after sexual climax, his body enters a severe state of exhaustion accompanied by muscle and joint pain throughout his body, with weakness lasting up to a week. This condition has made him fearful of sexual intimacy for years, severely affecting his quality of life to the point where he initially believed it was a psychological issue and sought psychiatric treatment, though no underlying cause was found.

What happened to this man? The foreign health page "Tensia" published a rare case study of this 25-year-old, noting that since age 17, approximately one hour after each climax, he enters a severe collapse lasting up to a week, with full-body pain and extreme weakness to the point of being unable to stand. After thorough examination, doctors found that various hormone levels were normal and ruled out common physical diseases before diagnosing him with a rare condition called "Postorgasmic Illness Syndrome" or POIS.

What are the symptoms of this rare disease? The main symptoms of POIS include systemic inflammation following sexual climax, with patients potentially experiencing fever, chills, brain fog or slowed thinking, and severe exhaustion. Currently, medical professionals theorize that these symptoms may be related to the body's allergic reaction to components in seminal fluid, resulting in the release of inflammatory substances similar to an infection mechanism.

However, there is good news from clinical trials showing that taking 500 milligrams of Vitamin B3 daily for several consecutive months can significantly reduce inflammation and alleviate exhaustion symptoms. Although the exact mechanism is still being studied, this represents important hope for patients.

Fear of seeing a doctor may cause even more serious consequences Tensia also emphasizes that POIS patients face not only physical suffering but also significant psychological pressure. Many choose to suffer in silence because they feel embarrassed or don't realize this is an actual disease, affecting their relationships and daily life. Doctors warn that the number of actually diagnosed patients may be lower than reality, and those with similar symptoms should promptly seek evaluation from urological specialists to prevent this hidden condition from becoming a long-term burden on their lives.

Democrats Fed Up with Recreational Cannabis Problem; Abhisit Leads Field Survey with Anuchah Down Sukhumvit, Finding Numerous Cannabis-Promoting Shops

Democrat Party leader Abhisit surveyed Sukhumvit's cannabis shops on May 23, opposing recreational use while pledging stricter enforcement and regulatory review to protect Bangkok's image and youth.

3d ago Khaosod

On May 23, 2025, Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, along with party deputies Korn Chatikvanic and Sakolthee Pattiya, party strategist Ongaaj Khlaamphibun, and Bangkok gubernatorial candidate Anuchah Boorphatchai, surveyed the Sukhumvit area to document cannabis promotion advertisements aimed at gathering data for campaign policy development.

Anuchah stated that the Sukhumvit area, an important tourism economic zone, urgently needs action regarding cannabis. Throughout Sukhumvit Road, there are numerous recreational cannabis promotions, which the Democrat Party opposes. The party supports cannabis only for medical use and believes recreational cannabis requires strict control. Any violations of existing laws need immediate enforcement. Many matters fall under Bangkok's direct jurisdiction, including advertising signage and shops operating near schools or temples.

For legal matters requiring coordination with other agencies such as the Ministry of Public Health or Ministry of Education, Bangkok would serve as the coordinating host while maintaining clear standards within legal frameworks.

Anuchah emphasized that Bangkok's image as a world-class city requires preventing negative perceptions and protecting youth values. Regarding immediate actions Bangkok can take, these include reviewing business licenses to ensure they align with operational objectives and verifying advertising compliance with Bangkok regulations. Smoke odor control must also prevent public nuisance.

Anuchah clarified this was an observational visit, not an inspection. All actions aim to maintain Bangkok's prestigious image. Regarding issues involving nominee arrangements and other legal complexities requiring inter-ministerial coordination, proper legal procedures must be followed. The city will serve as a focal point for public complaints related to legal violations while coordinating with relevant agencies.

Luang Pho Kaen of Wat Kamphaeng Mani Dispels Illness and Grants Blessings of Success, Reveals Lucky Numbers to Devotees

A revered Buddha image at Wat Kamphaeng Mani in Ang Thong Province is credited with healing illnesses and granting success to devotees, who traditionally offer eggs and shadow puppet performances when their prayers are answered.

3d ago Khaosod

Luang Pho Kaen of Wat Kamphaeng Mani, revered for dispelling illness and granting blessings of success, has revealed lucky numbers to devotees. When wishes are fulfilled, followers traditionally present eggs and organize shadow puppet theater performances as offerings.

On May 23, 2569 (2026), the ancient U Thong-era Buddha image at Wat Kamphaeng Mani in Huai Kan Lhaen Subdistrict, Wiset Chai Chan District, Ang Thong Province, remains a spiritual focal point. The image, approximately 5 cubits tall in the diamond meditation posture with left hand over right, earned its name "Luang Pho Kaen" (Black-Core Buddha) when residents discovered a black wooden core beneath the cracked plaster exterior.

According to the temple's abbot, Phra Athikan Phot Anutho, local belief in the deity's powers has been passed down for generations. Residents credit Luang Pho Kaen with healing severe illnesses and injuries when invoked for aid. Those suffering emotional distress report that blessed water—either bathed in or consumed—brings mental clarity and relief. When prayers for success in work, business, or family matters are answered, devotees traditionally express gratitude by presenting eggs and arranging shadow puppet performances.

Phoomi, a 55-year-old oil company employee, testified that he survived a serious car accident through the deity's blessing. He became a temple devotee, volunteering for 15 days before resuming work, and credits the temple with providing lottery number 86 that he subsequently played.

Koh Phangan Raid Nets 22 Foreigners in Crackdown on 32 Nominee Companies, 40 Rai of Land Seized

Police arrested 22 foreigners and seized over 40 rai of land during a major crackdown on illegal nominee companies on Koh Phangan, targeting foreign nationals illegally holding Thai property and operating prohibited businesses.

3d ago Khaosod

At 6:00 AM on May 23, 2025, Deputy Police Chief Samran Nualma, directing the Center for Suppressing Cross-Border Criminals and Illegal Immigration, ordered Major General Nophsit Poolswadee to coordinate over 300 officers in launching Phase 2 of the operation to dismantle foreign nominee networks on Koh Phangan. The task force pursued 39 cases with 36 search warrants and 45 arrest warrants targeting various nationalities of foreign nationals accused of engaging in businesses prohibited to foreigners and illegally holding land. One notable case involved an Israeli national posing as a Thai shareholder while holding 8 plots of land (7.5 rai) valued at over 60 million baht, while also operating an unlicensed hotel. Phase 2 results were divided into two groups: the first comprised 32 clear nominee companies with 45 seized land plots (over 40 rai), 22 arrested foreigners, and damages exceeding 200 million baht; the second group consisted of 32 companies where foreign shareholding exceeded Thai shareholding, holding 38 land plots (over 38 rai), mostly vacant. Authorities conducted sweeping inspections of 21 such companies to gather evidence for prosecution. Deputy Police Chief Samran revealed that the Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had directed Police Chief Kittarat Parnpetch to aggressively eliminate the nominee scheme—using Thai names as proxies for foreign ownership and land holdings. This initiative addresses accumulated problems on Koh Phangan since 2024, with 29 cases previously prosecuted, 2 convicted, and 62 suspects (32 Thai nationals and 30 foreigners). Phase 1 launched on May 13, targeting upstream and midstream operators including law firms, accounting firms, and nominee companies, resulting in 37 cases, 3 arrest warrants, and 27 search warrants, revealing patterns where Thai state welfare card holders and company employees served as nominees.
