Behind the Quirky Catchphrases: How Mommy Chicky's Plinnyadaa Piraya Teaches Kids Through Comedy
Mommy Chicky creator Plinnyadaa Piraya transforms parenting struggles into viral comedy through quirky bird-call catchphrases and characters, finding that her humor provides comfort and strength to viewers facing hardship.
The creator behind the viral birdcall catchphrases "nok ka-hung" and "nok wego-weloop," Plinnyadaa Piraya from the Mommy Chicky channel, shares how she turned parenting challenges into comedy. "We started making funny content from when I was pregnant," she explains. "We transformed real motherhood problems into humor—the stress, the crying baby, the tantrums—and turned them into entertainment."
One of her breakthrough videos featured the character "Uncle Cherd," which emerged spontaneously when her daughter Mali was around 7-8 months old. "I didn't know how to make her stop crying, so I just made up this name and called out to it, and she went silent. When I posted it, people found it hilarious."
Regarding the origin of her signature phrases, Plinnyadaa says some came from social media trends she adapted, like "wego-weloop," which she turned into "nok wego-weloop." Others, like "nok ka-hung," she created herself. "The terms might not have real meaning—sometimes I just mix sounds together like Brian's relatives," she laughs. "But the overall message is about mothering and boundaries."
When discussing the impact of her content, Plinnyadaa becomes emotional: "When people comment, I read them. At first, people felt sorry for me, then for my daughter. But what really touches me are messages from people going through difficult times—cancer patients, overwhelmed mothers, people struggling mentally—saying my videos brought them joy and strength. That's when I realized what we're doing matters beyond just making people laugh. It has real value." She can be followed on TikTok @Mommy_chicky, Instagram @Mommy_chickyy, and Facebook @Mommy Chicky.
