Security Command Urges Public to Avoid Old Market Area in Yala Following Manhunt for Suspect
Security forces are conducting a manhunt in Yala's old market area and have urged the public to avoid the zone in Muang District for safety reasons while operations continue.
The Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Front has requested public cooperation to avoid entering the law enforcement operation zone in the old market area (behind Municipal School 5) in Sateng Subdistrict, Muang District, Yala Province for safety reasons.
Security officials entered the area on May 21, 2026, to track a suspect who had been moving in the Sateng subdistrict. Officers are continuing security operations in and around the old market area to monitor and control the situation while ensuring maximum public safety.
All operations are being conducted according to legal procedures and security measures. Authorities have intensified area inspections and closely monitored the suspect's movements following tips from residents about unusual activity that could threaten public peace and safety.
For safety, the command urges the public to temporarily avoid using routes through the old market area and surrounding zones unless absolutely necessary. Residents are asked to use alternate routes and stay away from the operational area until the situation is resolved. The public is also encouraged to follow official government updates closely and refrain from sharing unverified information to prevent confusion or panic.
Meanwhile, officials are coordinating with local leaders and relevant parties to negotiate with the suspect group, offering them the opportunity to voluntarily surrender and leave the area. Authorities emphasize that all actions strictly adhere to legal frameworks and human rights principles, aiming to prevent violence, minimize loss of life and property, and restore public confidence.
