On May 4, Pol. Maj. Gen. Chaikrit Pho-arka, Region 6 Commander, along with Deputy Commander Asni Trakultitthisap of the Royal Palace Police Station, and other senior officers, conducted a joint patrol with Chakravarti and Royal Palace police units. The team visited community leaders in the Ong-ang Canal area, Sapan Han community under Chakravarti Station, and Pahurud community under Royal Palace Station. Local leaders including Suchai Chaladchuenchom, Wuttichay Kiartchaiwuttiwut, and Ratthawan Chaladchuenchom received the officials and provided information. The inspection included discussions and consultations regarding local conditions, community concerns, and public safety needs for persons and property. This information will inform planning and initiatives to develop canal-side communities, promoting orderliness, safety, and improved quality of life in accordance with royal development projects.

On May 6, Deputy Superintendent Nusil Timsil of Muang Trang Police Station received a report of a shooting with a severely injured victim inside a shelter in a hilly area, Village 2, Ban Pho Subdistrict, Muang District, Trang Province. Before police arrived, rescue teams from Wattana Hospital and Ban Pho Municipality rushed the victim to Trang Hospital.

Investigating officers found an off-grid shelter powered by solar panels located on a hillside with a large pool of blood. The victim, identified as Petchpunthsakdi Khamwichi, nicknamed "Leo," age 20, was shot with a homemade 12-gauge shotgun in a point-blank shooting. Approximately 10 pellet wounds scattered across his chest, shoulder, neck, and chin. Doctors attempted emergency resuscitation with chest compressions, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Initial investigation led police to call in Surin Chuchart, 57, the victim's stepfather, and Lamyong Teepchanthon, 55, his mother, for questioning. A suspect, a man in his 30s-40s nicknamed "Big" from the same village, was identified as acquainted with the victim. When police approached the suspect's house, he fled into the forest and hills over 200 meters before jumping off a cliff higher than 5 meters. He attempted further escape but was apprehended by officers near an earthen wall.

The suspect was taken to Muang Trang Police Station for DNA testing and gunpowder residue examination. He initially denied involvement, claiming he was indoors during the incident.

The stepfather recounted that he was washing cassava beneath the shelter when he heard a gunshot. The victim, eating upstairs, shouted that he'd been shot before falling onto the stepfather. The stepfather carried the victim down the hill to seek help, believing "Big" was responsible, though it was dark and he heard no voices before the shot.

The stepfather further explained that the suspect and his girlfriend "Fon" had regularly frequented the shelter for years and were close to the victim. Recently, Fon began spending more time there, eventually staying overnight regularly. This caused frequent arguments between the suspect and Fon. Shortly before the incident, Fon came to stay at the shelter. When the suspect learned of this, a heated argument erupted. He told Fon they were breaking up and demanded she leave the village. Days later, Fon returned to the shelter. When the suspect found out, he followed her up, leading to a confrontation where Fon attempted to stab him with a knife while the suspect drew a gun to threaten her before leaving the shelter.

A 60-year-old man identified as Mr. Charoen has been arrested by Bangkhae Police for fatally stabbing Mr. Sai, approximately 40 years old, near Baan Suan Bangkhae condominium on Phaholyothin Road 48 on May 5 at 8 p.m. A 20-centimeter pointed knife was seized as evidence.

During interrogation, Mr. Charoen claimed he was eating when the victim approached and verbally abused him without prior conflict between them. The victim then attacked him and kicked his face while he was lying on his back. In response, Mr. Charoen used the knife to stab the victim three times in the eye area, cheekbone, and chest, causing him to collapse. The suspect then fled to his residence and later turned himself in to police.

Police have charged Mr. Charoen with intentional homicide and the case will proceed through legal channels.

On May 6, police in Chang Yai District, Bang Tai, Ayutthaya received reports of a murdered taxi driver found abandoned in a rice field approximately one kilometer from Highway 9. The body of Prasayad Buthong, 65, showed severe head trauma consistent with a robbery-related attack. The taxi was left at the scene with its door open.

Police have begun collecting fingerprints, DNA samples, and other evidence from the vehicle and surrounding area. Investigators learned from family interviews that the victim was carrying a mobile phone, cash of unknown amount, and a bank card with ATM PIN information stored in a plastic bag. The phone reportedly had no screen lock.

The victim typically carried documents, ID card, driver's license, and ATM card in a plastic bag placed in his pants or shirt pocket. A witness reported seeing groups of locals fishing in the area between 3-4 PM on May 4th, before heavy rain that evening. The body was discovered by fishermen the following evening on May 5th.

The crime scene is located at an abandoned beer factory waste dump. The area is only accessible to local farmers and residents who know the terrain, accessible via two routes.

At 9 PM, the victim's wife, Ms. Kung, arrived at the police station with their daughter. She revealed that she last saw her husband that morning when he dropped her at the market. He was carrying regular passenger fares as usual and typically returned home around 9 PM. When he didn't return and his phone was off, she became concerned.

Her husband worked as a contracted taxi driver with mostly regular customers who would call him for rides. He carried cash for making change, a recently purchased mobile phone that he was paying off, an ID card, and an ATM card. She estimated approximately 10,000 baht in the bank account, as most customers transfer funds electronically.

Still in shock, Ms. Kung stated she had no suspects in mind, noting that her elderly husband suffered from diabetes, kidney disease, and high blood pressure. "Why would anyone do something so cruel?" she asked, expressing her determination to see justice served if the perpetrator is found.

A mother in Ang Thong province is lodging a complaint against police for allegedly using excessive force against her 24-year-old son, Anatchai, after a collision incident on May 5th at 1:54 AM in Ban Thang Phra subdistrict, Phi Thong district. According to Anatchai's account, he was riding his motorcycle carrying a spare tire to help his sister when a police patrol car suddenly opened its door, causing him to swerve and crash. After being knocked to the ground, he was surrounded by officers and allegedly beaten, with police accusing him of theft—an accusation he denies. The location is only 200-300 meters from his home.

Anatchai suffered a fractured left leg, facial swelling, and a three-stitch eyebrow laceration and was transported to Phi Thong Hospital for treatment. Police classified the incident as an accident and filed a daily report at Phi Thong Police Station.

However, Anatchai's 46-year-old mother, Duea, reviewed CCTV footage of the incident and determined it was not an accident as the police had claimed. Concerned about her son's lack of justice, she released the video to media outlets, calling for the officers to be held accountable. She stated that without the footage, no one would have known what truly happened.

His 29-year-old sister, Suchitra, witnessed her brother covered in blood with an immobilized leg. Initially thinking he'd lost control while driving, she checked the CCTV footage and confirmed it was not an accident. She questioned whether the police response was excessive and announced plans to file a formal complaint to pursue legal proceedings against the officers involved.
