FIFA Keeps Original Kickoff Time for Mexico-England Match
FIFA has confirmed the Mexico vs England World Cup Round of 16 match will kick off at its original 6:00 PM time on July 5 in Mexico City, rejecting proposals to move it earlier despite thunderstorm warnings.
FIFA will keep the original kickoff time for the Mexico vs England Round of 16 match at the 2026 World Cup, despite reports that the game would be moved six hours earlier due to weather conditions. The match was originally scheduled for 6:00 PM local time on July 5 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City (7:00 AM Thailand time on July 6). Weather forecasts indicated a risk of thunderstorms during that time slot, leading to plans to reschedule the match to noon local time on July 5 (1:00 AM Thailand time on July 6) for safety reasons. However, FIFA confirmed to Reuters that the match will still be played at the originally scheduled time.
