Norway national team head coach Stale Solbakken praised Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil's head coach, ahead of their World Cup 2026 Round of 16 matchup, clarifying that a video clip where he appeared to challenge Ancelotti was merely a joke taken out of context.

Norway will face five-time world champion Brazil on July 5th in the final Round of 16 match.

Before the game, a video released by the Norwegian Football Federation showed Solbakken's motivational remarks to players following Norway's 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast, ending with: "And just wait, Carlo Ancelotti—we're coming for you."

Solbakken later clarified the comments, saying: "It's not provocation at all. He may be one of the greatest coaches in European football history, alongside Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, and one or two others from a historical perspective."

"I have great respect for him. I faced him two or three times when I managed FC Copenhagen in Champions League matches against Chelsea and Real Madrid. He's a great person, very funny, and we respect him greatly. We also have immense respect for Brazil as a nation. So I think they see the humorous side of it. It wasn't meant as deep analysis."

Solbakken also acknowledged Brazil as championship favorites: "I think Brazil is gradually adapting better and better. They have strong players in every position. We're looking forward to this challenge. Brazil is definitely the favorite and a favorite to win the championship. But now it's our fate to face them, and we must play as well as we possibly can."

England captain Harry Kane acknowledges that the Three Lions face a challenging matchup against Mexico in the World Cup Round of 16, while describing the opportunity to play in a World Cup as a lifelong dream come true.

Kane recently played the hero by scoring both goals in England's 2-1 comeback victory over DR Congo in the 2026 World Cup's final 32-team round on July 1st.

Following that result, the Three Lions advanced to the Round of 16 to face co-host Mexico on July 5th.

Belgium, Europe's top-ranked team, came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Senegal before winning 3-2 on a penalty kick in extra time to advance to the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign Sandro Tonali for up to £100 million, setting a new club transfer record. Commander Rear Admiral Tiwa Aun Alaow of the Naval Military Education Center presided over the commissioning ceremony for 2,879 servicemen from the 1st/2569 rotation on July 1, 2025, transferring them to various Royal Thai Navy units and awarding outstanding training companies. They are now deployed across navy units and ready to serve the nation and its people with full dedication, fulfilling the navy's motto that "naval personnel stand beside the people."

The Police Bureau Region 2 is preparing officers for the 2025 National Police Formation and Tactics Competition. On June 30, Deputy Police General Kiadtikul Sandtinaer, the bureau commander, along with deputy commanders Seksidet Suphaauan, Supol Khamchoo, and Tithiphong Phiwattawuttigul, visited Bang Khae Police Station. At the station, 57 police officers under the supervision of Station Commander Anant Worasart and other officers trained in formation drills, unarmed techniques, and police tactical procedures to prepare for the 2025 competition. Following the inspection, the command team distributed new police uniforms and refreshments to all trainees as morale boosters.
